GREAT UPDATES, FLAT SCREEN TVS!!! Gulf Dunes Resort offers guests a getaway experience with spacious tropical grounds, sea dunes, tennis courts, grill area, two pools (one heated October thru March), and ample parking. The beach access does require navigation of stairs as you traverse the sand dunes. The beaches of Okaloosa Island are as pure white as beaches get. The sugary soft sand is found nowhere else in North America, attracting visitors from all areas of the world. Wade in the crystal clear water of the Gulf of Mexico. This stretch of beach is part of Florida's Emerald Coast, stretching from Panama City to Pensacola. Gulf Dunes is near many of Destin's attractions, such as Destin Harbor, outlet shopping, and many other outdoor activities. Para sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, go carting, jet skis, dolphin tours, bungee jumping, and water parks are just some of what Destin has to offer..

Comfortable but needs updates

We vacationed with 30 family members and rented 6 condos so we saw other condos. Ours still had older stove and frig and TVs were smaller. The decor was more southwest not the Beach. Beautiful view and beds were comfortable

First Time in Unit 603

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Brooks and Shorey staff, particularly the lady working in the Gulf Dunes building, have been great to work with each year. This was the first time we rented the unit and we were a bit disappointed in the comfort of the sofa and loveseat. The kitchen wasn't as well stocked (4 teaspoons as versus 8 or more) etc., but the beds were very comfortable and the balcony furniture was very nice. The cleaning crew left the kitchen cabinets very disorganized and the cookware was missing a few sizes of pots and skillets...otherwise, our stay was very pleasant.

The balcony was very spacious. This condo was very clean and well stocked with plenty of dishes which was great for cooking. I would love to come back to the ft Walton area and stay in this condo. The master bathroom is huge and jets in master bathroom were a huge plus. Plenty of closet space and beds were comfortable. I highly recommend this condo for a big family. We had 7 with us and there was plenty of room. Overall we had a great time and loved our condo. Thank you

Great Gulf-front view

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Had to "man" the coffee pot so it wouldn't overflow (after cleaning the coffee grounds out of it), but the k-cup one worked fine. All 3 electrical outlets around the dining table did not work, regardless of which light switches were on. They just need to be replaced. The balcony furniture was great! The 2 front bedrooms REALLY need black-out curtains! Just wish we'd been told that the bridge workers would be pile-driving at 8am! Go to Fubar for great pizza; AJ's for great karaoke & the Shack for great fish!

Maint.issues would be the slider onto the balcony from living room area was stubborn and may have a flat spot on the roller. Maybe an all-over unit paint job is necessary in the off-season. I was impressed with the cookwear as the skillet was useable and actually may have been newly purchased. Now, I know that may not sound like much, but from my experience elsewhere, let me tell you, a decent frying pan is hard to come by in the vaca rental world. Kudos to the Brooks and Shorey staff~ your rental/check-in/check-out process is seamless. Lastly, we love the area, white sand, calm waters, and look forward to returning soon.

Reviewer Comments: Family enjoyed the beach and pool.This is the first time I have encountered issues at a condo rental, and I have to lay the blame on the management. The sliding door from the great room to the balcony was broken and of no use for the entirety of our stay. All access was made through the master bedroom. Refrigerator leaked, ice maker not working, which was resolved a few days later.One of the two pools had no access during our stay due to painting overhead, this was on July 4 week.We were not told of any problems afore hand.

The Gulf Dunes HOA balcony renovation project sure did throw a wrench in all Gulf Dunes travelers this summer and we can't apologize enough for the work being out of our hands and beyond our control. We appreciated any patience that was given us from our guests as it was a tough project to we've made it through and the balconies look great and both pools are open. Unfortunately the saltwater of the Gulf is super harsh on everything, especially the mechanics of the constantly used sliding doors leading to the balconies. As management of the unit we stay on top of these issues as best as possible, sometimes there are more time-consuming repairs needed, as with this particular door. Thankfully the balcony of your condo had already been painted though and we were glad to have gotten a new ice maker in there. We hope you make another trip to beautiful Okaloosa Island in the future.
