GETTING AROUND
You will need a vehicle to explore beyond the lake, however, if you intend to remain at The Beech House you will have everything you need. The Beech House is located on an unpaved road that is maintained by the Town of Otis and fluctuates seasonally. Please be mindful when driving to the property as the road can be bumpy at times.

West Shore Road is a private gravel road that follows the length of the lake approximately 4-5 miles. Gary Moore Rd (paved) is about 2 miles South East of the property and Route 1A (to Bangor) is about 8 miles NW. In Maine the road conditions change during the year. There can be some bumps here and there at times so please be mindful.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
Guest house includes two-bedroom, one bathroom apartment above garage. Guests will not be given access to actual garage bay. Guests staying in guest house should be aware of large staircase leading to apartment. Guest house is not handicap accessible.

Beautiful setting; house a bit small/rough for the price
Everything was nice except the house had a pervasive odor of old lobster and mold, especially in the master bedroom. Granted, it was a very rainy weekend but the master bedroom smelled bad enough that I spent one night on the couch. Another issue was that all of the towels had been washed but not thoroughly dried, so we had to redo the entire batch. We were then charged extra for dog hair on the couch: $75 to vacuum the couch was a bit much considering we paid about $1600 and had the above issues. Would stay again except for the odor.
