Ashe Lake Hideaway is a one-bedroom corner unit condominium situated on a quiet lakefront wooded property with picturesque mountain views. Located just minutes from West Jefferson NC. You will enjoy easy access to parks, shopping, restaurants, entertainment and more. Bring your small boat (electric motor only), Kayak, canoe, or paddleboard along with your fishing gear because beautiful Ashe Lake is in your front yard!
The "Hideaway" features a spacious bedroom with a queen bed, flat screen TV, dresser, nightstand, large, shelved closet and ceiling fan. The newly updated bathroom boasts a granite countertop, bath /shower with access from bedroom or living area. The kitchen area, also newly updated, features a beautiful granite countertop / bar with oversize stainless-steel sink, refrigerator / freezer, and electric range/oven. No dishwasher. In the living room area, you will find an amazing view of the lake out the front windows. Also, a flat screen TV, ceiling fan, pull-out sofa bed, and recliner. The stacked washer / dryer is located in a closet connected to the Living Room. Above the closet is where you will discover
a variety of games, playing cards and puzzles if you are so inclined. A variety of Books are stored under the coffee station. Outside, on the front porch there is a small bistro set that's perfect for your morning coffee while enjoying the beautiful lake view.
Do you like to take walks? There is a beautiful waterfall just a short distance away!
Although the "Hideaway" is in a lovely, wooded area, you are less than 10 minutes from downtown West Jefferson, NC. Boone, NC is a short 30 minutes away. Tweetsie Railroad 35 minutes. Appalachian State University 30 minutes. Wilkesboro, NC 40 minutes. An excellent access point for the south fork of the New River is 3 miles away. The entrance to the Blue Ridge Parkway is a 4-to-5-mile drive. Other attractions include: The Cheese factory in downtown West Jefferson, Thistle meadow and Old Barn wineries, Saturday Farmers Market (downtown W. Jefferson). Much, much more!
Note on parking: Only one parking space is provided and is tight. A large vehicle will not fit. There is some space next to railing, provided the entrance to lake is not blocked.

Grown sons visit Dad.

I actually live permanently in a similar, one bedroom apartment a couple of doors down as a retired professor, and I love it here. Prior to this DELIGHTFUL Vrbo being made available, my 3 grown children and grandchildren have done their best with air mattresses among my books, papers, detritus, and too much of the furniture they grew up with when we were all in a much larger house. But ALL always want to spend their time visiting here at the lake. Area fellow downsizing grandparents take note: if some space is needed for visits, put your child's family up here for you ALL to share one of the very best spots in North Carolina's Coolest Corner. My two sons have LOVED staying at this Vrbo, fishing the lake, and grilling up supper. I'm settling dates now with my daughter's family (with 5 year old grand son) for the fall -- hikes/mountain biking up and down around the lake, the waterfall, and Parkway trails. I'm picking a few days later in the winter with my granddaughter and her husband and child who love to canoe, fly fish for trout, and swim in this lake here in the summer but who will be coming in the winter to ski, sled, and ice skate. Great place, great location, great hosts, and a great price. Tom

Clean, cute, cozy hideaway on Lake Ashe.

The place was immaculate. They thought of every little detail. We were impressed. Great proximity to West Jefferson. We’d definitely book again. Communicating with the owners was great!

Awesome place :.the owners went beyond the call of duty to make sure everything was perfect even adding a gift basket.. a lot of extras we were not expecting.. we would definitely recommend and plan to return.
