We loved the cabin! Fantastic property, clean, and so much fun. Swimming in the lake, listening to the wildlife, and reading on the porch. A great time!
This cabin in the woods is a gem. It’s labeled rustic because it is lit by gas lamps and is off the electrical grid. But those features enhancement rather than detract from the pleasures of this cabin. It lacks WiFi, which too only increases the appreciation and enjoyment of the stay. The setting is lovely - deep in the woods overlooking a pond. We found this cabin one the best vacation rentals we have ever stayed at.
We were looking for a quiet getaway from the chaos of daily life and this cabin oasis provided it. The location is beautiful and the cabin itself is effortlessly rustic. My husband loved watching, listening to, and photographing all the birds and wildlife. We all enjoyed falling asleep each night to the sound of loons and bullfrogs. We would happily stay again in the future.
This wonderfully rustic cabin is amazing!
Secluded and hidden in the forest, it provides just the right magical environment to connect with nature. The pond (with its resident loons and frogs) is perfect for swimming and canoeing. This special place is not your typical commercial tourist destination. It allows us to relax and rejuvenate our creative impulses.
David's property is amazing. The cabin has everything needed to make a stay there easy. We loved the propane lights, and the generator was easy to use. The lake is perfect for swimming and paddling. And there are eagles, hawks, and loons in abundance for watching and listening. There are wonderful places to walk. I even foraged a bunch of black trumpet mushrooms for our meals. We also love the surrounding towns; Damarascotta is busy and a bit fancy while Waldoboro is quiet and quaint. We hope to stay there again in the future.

"the Camp" is a camp, I did not expect the cabin to be quite as rustic and I might say rough.
the cabin is in deep forest, access to the Lake is down a steep slope, once there, at the water edge, is lovely, swimming and boating is great, and one can listen to the Loons. The cabin is rather rustic and a bit cluttered for my taste, the bed was not made up when we got there tired from a long drive the mattress so firm it made my bones hurt. It is what they say a camp is, but I did not realize the camp is a camp. Considering the prize there is not much comfort to be had other than the deep forest which at this time of year brought on allergies from the mold in the woods we are told.

I’m sorry Brigitte was disappointed. I work very hard to be clear that the camp is rustic but in a beautiful secluded area.
I always call first time renters to clarify any misconceptions. I called Brigitte more than once and invited her to call me but no connection was made.
About the price of $115 per night off-season. If you look at rentals in Bremen, ME the average price is over $200 per night so I do work hard to keep a price consistent with the rustic condition

The property was beautiful and quiet -- unfussy but with everything you need for a break. There are activities nearby if you are so inclined or just stay and listen to the birds. It was exactly what we needed. Thanks!
My husband, Nick, and I LOVED staying at David’s cabin. It was so peaceful and cozy. Toddy’s path is amazing and perfect and we loved lounging on the float in the late afternoon with some snacks and wine, just watching (and listening to) the loons and listening to the ospreys and eagles. We got out in the canoe one day and saw three eagles on the big island across the way!
The sauna was beautiful and we got to try it out on a rainy morning. Surprisingly to us, the lack of electricity was easier to get used to than we thought it would.
Our stay was so restful and perfect. We will definitely stay again!
We loved the beautiful log cabin in the woods overlooking Webber Pond! Such quiet and privacy, with loon song and wood stove at night and hummingbirds and paddling/swimming the lake to enjoy in the day. Using the generator a few minutes a day to fill the water tanks, and lighting gas lights at night was easy even for us (we were new to this process). The furnishings were simple and comfortable, the kitchen incredibly well stocked with every imaginable cooking utensil, and the supply of linens perfect for a extended family. We loved the amazing collection of books and games, too! We'd definitely recommend this place!

lovely and tranquil
This lovely little cabin has been our annual family retreat for a few years now, though this time my husband and I allowed ourselves a romantic week alone together before the rest of the family joined us. Secluded , comfortable and quiet. A bit of paradise on a peaceful pond

We loved our stay here!
My wife and I spent our 1st anniversary and her 30th birthday weekend at this wonderful cabin. Off the beat and path with absolutely nothing but nature around. We took the canoes out everyday while we were there and saw a bald eagle on the lake each time, as well as the loons! We can not wait to come back and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday. This place should be on everyone’s bucket list.

Yet another wonderful visit
This was our fourth visit to this charming cabin. As a family with two adult children we really enjoy being off the grid at this quiet rustic cabin, allowing time to read and make art together.
Nested in the woods above a beautiful pristine lake the cabin is perfect for observing the amazing variety of mushrooms, flora and fauna. Days were spent swimming and sunning off the private dock. Evenings were spent star gazing on the pond and listening to the lunes.
Hoping to have the opportunity to return next summer and continue what has become our family's annual retreat reunion.

Our great escape
Anna's and David's cozy little cabin does it again!
This is our third stay in this secluded cabin and we have come to feel like it our private escape.
The amenities are simple, which adds to the rustic charm of this place and also accounts for it being recognized for
being green and environmentally responsible. The pond is quiet and peaceful. Many loons this year and we were greeted by an owl in the woods. Perfect for the family to spend time cooking, eating, swimming, reading and drawing together. There are many lovely hikes and eateries nearby but we opted to explore the woods on the property and to buy fresh produce at the local farmer's markets and fresh seafood from the local fishermen and lobster pounds and cook back at the cabin.
A magical place

Great place to get away!
My wife and I stayed here on our anniversary. We had a great time. There is plenty to do just a short drive away, but you still get the seclusion we were looking for. We would recommend this to anyone.

We had enough room to have time alone time if the kids wanted to take a break from one another. We were even able to get a workout with the thanks to Toddy's Path. I saw the coast of Maine in 1969 and decided I had to live near Maine so moved to Boston from Chicago. I bought the land in 1985 and had the cabin constructed in 1988
Why they chose this property
The combination of quiet solitude and easy access to lake, ocean and nearby towns is unique. Many quests have commented on the quiet, ability to see the milky Way at night, the romantic glow from the gas lights, etc.
What makes this property unique
Quiet, free from the modern rush, no Wi/Fi or TV. Wonderful for family time together
