The entrance of the home will be a shared space with the owner of the home. We have a studio space in the lower part of the home that is sometimes used for the owner to teach music lessons. The actual space that guests will be staying in is located up the stairs from the studio and is separated by a wooden bifurcation at the top. We will never go up the stairs into the guest space so the home itself is entirely private!

My family was in this place for about a total of 30 minutes before making the decision for the safety of ourselves and our children, to leave. The description of this place is completely inaccurate. The property owner failed to mention quite a few important details in their listing, and I can see that they haven’t changed anything. There are tenants that live on the first floor and there is no actual door to block off the first floor from the second floor, where you stay. So while we were there, you could hear people talking on the first floor and they were giving a piano lesson. Those people could have walked up the stairs at any moment. There was only a curtain blocking these two floors from one another. The place was also horribly messy. As previously mentioned, we were not comfortable with being in a place that was not only disgusting, but also where people could roam up the stairs freely and onto our floor where we had children. Even though I communicated immediately that we would not be staying there due to safety reasons, the landlord said that they understand, would update the information on their profile and said they would give a refund. After about a month of countless phone calls, messages, emails and promises from the landlord that they were communicating with Vrbo to give the refund (which turns out that was a lie), they did not give the refund. Terrible host, dishonest and unprofessional communication and a big red flag all around!

Portland Ski Weekend

My family and I have started the tradition of spending a weekend in Portland to visit the city and the surrounding ski area. This apartment and location made our trip so effortless and enjoyable. It's within steps of one of our favorite coffee places, Tandem, and a walk to all of the excellent shopping on Congress St. Our host couldn't have been more accommodating and helpful. We look forward to returning soon!
