Wallace Lake House is a Perfect Lakefront Getaway for Relaxation and Lake Fun
Located on Lake Lure, Wallace Lake House offers breathtaking views of the mountains and lake from the deck and patio. If the views and the sound of the water lapping don’t carry away your stress, stepping into the lake and feeling the sand between your toes should do the trick! The shallow water depth increases gradually, which is nice for wading and children (sorry, no four-legged family members). This home is 7.6 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 9.1 miles to Chimney Rock State Park, and 19.4 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC).
Great for Family Gatherings The home's road entrance is on the house's upper level. A ramp to the door and boathouse deck makes it accessible for families in a wheelchair.
Comfortable Living This lakefront rental has all of the comforts of home. This upper level has the washer and dryer conveniently located near the stairs leading to the main level. This level also has a full bath and four bedrooms.
Down the stairs is the main level of this cozy home. The open floor plan is perfect for the views and for spending time with family and friends. A spacious, fully equipped kitchen is straight ahead if you stand at the bottom of the stairs. To the left is the dining area, and further still is the living area. There is another bedroom and full bathroom (shower stall, no bathtub), and the sofa converts to a sleeper. This home also offers Internet service, three televisions, a smart TV and Roku Streaming. By the door to the deck is a large bank of windows; open the blinds to admire the beauty of Lake Lure and the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
Wonderful Outdoor Spaces If you want to get a little closer to nature, the door to the deck is to the right of the bank of windows. This is the perfect spot to enjoy your morning beverage or to relax out of the full sun of the afternoon. If you prefer the sun, the spacious deck offers plenty of options. Relax on the dock, the deck atop the boathouse, or head downstairs to the covered porch, with a gas grill and a porch swing.
Perfect Every Season This home can be enjoyed throughout the year with the area's temperate climate and beauty. Springtime brings the blooming of the dogwood and redbud trees as well as the azaleas, rhododendrons, and mountain laurels. Summer brings lush greenery, and the autumn colors are extraordinary. Autumn's red and gold hues are breathtaking; the region is known for its fall colors. Winters are mild, and with less tree obstruction, the views are incredible.

Stunning views!! Wonderful experience!
We stayed at Wallace Lake House for a 3 day weekend, while attending a wedding at Lake Lure for our close friends from college. The whole experience was wonderful, from booking through checkout! Carolina Properties was very informative and very friendly. We had a couple questions during our stay and sent a quick text message to the number provided by the property management. She responded immediately and was so sweet and helpful! We had a great time! Wallace Lake House is so charming, very clean and the views are incredible! We truly didn't want to leave! We will be returning for an annual girls trip from now on!

Wallace Lake House
We rented the Wallace Lake House for a long 4 day weekend trip. Our experience with the rental company was not that great. We were hoping they would be more accommodating to us and were not impressed with their customer service. We had requested an early check in since no one was staying at the house prior to our arrival. We had been driving all night with 4 children and were hoping to get in sometime in the morning. The rental company representative was not understanding or accommodating in our request even though we had made it at the time of the reservation. She informed my husband that she had already scheduled her day and could not arrive earlier to give us the keys to the house. We also had a bee issue outside the house and after asking us if we had bee spray to do it ourselves (which was not available at the house), they did send an exterminator within the hour. The house was not stocked with any items such as garbage bags, dish soap/sponge, shower soap, washer detergent, etc. We have stayed in many rental properties and have always found it stocked with at least a few items to get us going until we make it to the grocery store the following day. The one roll of toilet paper that was in the bathroom was so incredibly thin and cheap it was barely useable. The house is an older house and a bit rundown, but was clean/comfortable and we did enjoy our time in it. The lake view was great and there was plenty of room for our large family. We had fun fishing and grilling out on the deck. Overall, the price was good and we enjoyed our stay. If they would put a little more TLC into the house and have a more accommodating rental company, we would consider coming back.

We always wish a happy and peaceful vacation for our guests.
What these folks fail to mention is that check-in is 3 pm or after and we had the home ready at noon for them, which was 3 hours early; They arrived in town prior to that but we simply could not get them in earlier than what we had already agreed to for noon arrival. We literally had every single home booked for this time frame and we had many guests to accommodate. They were also not charged an early check-in fee for their 3 hour early check-in.
When they called about the bees, we told them we would call the pest control company but in the mean time they may find some spray in the home. Thankfully the pest control company was very responsive and arrived within 1 hour.
Our homes are fully prepared with all linens, beds are made, ready to sleep in, a roll of toilet tissue in each bathroom (septic tank safe variety at all times), a roll of paper towels at the kitchen sink and a trash can liner in each trash can. If any of these items were missing we truly apologize and would have made it right if we had been notified.

Few things can be improved
We stayed here for 2 days. It's a great location with lake view as a backyard. It's 50 years old property, area under the deck was not maintained at all. It would be great, if some kind of cleaning was performed near the Grill area under the deck.
group of friends got together for a weekend at lake lure. unfortunately it ended up being the weekend of a fairly strong march winter storm and we lost power - but the property management company was communicative and we didn't lose power for long. has a great deck and lakeside location.
Awesome get away weekend and would definitely rent again ❤️

Could be great, but...
One of the other reviews had a lot of what I'm going to put here, but I want to get my review in as well. While this could be a great, secluded and beautiful vacation spot there are a few things that make the property not worth the price. Upon entry the house smells musty. There is a door upstairs made of small glass panes, one of them is broken and covered with a mini-wheats cereal box. Bunk beds are in a closet like space without a door off of one of the queen bed rooms, while there is a curtain if there is someone in the queen bed and the bunk bed, they will not have privacy. Bannister has two places where it is taped and my 2-year old nephew almost fell several times trying to go up and down the stairs. Couches are terrible, either very old or not good to start with (or both) but they need to be replaced. I am always willing to crash on a couch at a friends place and I would rather sleep on the floor than on these couches. One of the recliners is broken, footrest does not work. Stone steps leading down to the docs are falling apart, they only need a little attention. If the owners were to fix all of these things I may give the property three or four stars. It feels a lot like staying a grandmas as opposed to a nice lake vacation get away spot. I'm a nomad and don't need much, but if I'm going to pay for a vacation home, it's got to be nicer than this one.

Loved being on the water but ...
We really enjoyed staying in a house on the water. The views were beautiful and the swimming great. The neighbors were friendly. Losing power for 16 hours on our last day ( no fault of lessor or the house itself) was challenging. It was hot so we opened the windows that had screens, packed the fridge and freezer items in coolers, and headed down to the water. The view was great and we stayed in the water almost all day, every day. The kitchen has been done nicely and had everything we needed. The bathrooms were in good shape. The house was clean. However the house does need some maintenance. The smoke detectors were missing but the leasing company came immediately to replace them. The bannister in the house is broken and not reliable if you really need to use it. The seating in the living room is way past end of life. There is a broken recliner leaning against the wall. The three couches are broken down, bottomed out. They remind me of something that may have come from a garage sale. The stone steps leading down to the dock are broken and loose and need proper repair. Previous attempts at repair not holding up. Landscape down by the water is very overgrown. The swing under the house is no longer there and thats kind of my thing. The grill was not working properly so we could not use it. We brought 2 large umbrellas from home and it was a good thing. The umbrella for the deck table was broken and there was no other shade. I realize most of this is on the homeowner but the lessor needs to work with them to rectify these issues. NOTE from Carolina Properties: We have discussed these issues with the owners on several occasions and will continue our efforts to improve the quality, comfort and safety of this home.
