About this property

Secluded ranch house surrounded by nature on the Oregon coast. Pet upon approval

The Property

NOTE: Approved pets will have a $50 non-refundable pet fee. Undisclosed pets will be charged double per pet.

White Oak Hollow is located in the hills north of Brookings and offers a peaceful and secluded experience adjacent to a 900 acre ranch. Guests may take advantage of the large deck overlooking the sweeping views of Indian Fort Rock, pastures and mountains. Elk, deer and bears are a common sight along with other local wildlife. The outdoor enthusiast can have access to the many roads and trails on the ranch subject to appropriate release. A short drive will take visitors to one of the many pristine beaches where one can take in the mighty Pacific and miles of trails.

The space

A large master bedroom is located on the main level and includes a Sleep Number bed. The master bath has a large walk-in shower, custom closet and clawfoot tub along with an all natural bath bomb and plush cotton towels for a spa-like experience. Queen bedroom and two twin beds are located on second floor and share a custom bathroom with a large walk-in shower with rainshower fixture, luxurious cotton towels and hair dryer for your convenience. All bedrooms have down comforters and linen covers and include blackout shades for the perfect nights sleep and later mornings.

The spacious kitchen is well stocked and has a bar area so guests can mingle while meals are prepared. It also includes a large stainless steel refrigerator and double oven. The large deck looks out on 900 acres of woods, pastures and distant mountains. There are adirondacks, an outdoor dining table and propane barbecue to enjoy the view and star gazing at night.

Property amenities

The property has high-speed internet and a smart television in the living room that supports the most popular apps for guests to enjoy using their own sign-in information. Farm fresh, free range eggs are provided by the host as a bonus from the chickens that free-range near by! Guests will love the peace and quiet of the outdoors, the night sounds of crickets and spring peepers along with dark, star filled nights. Only about 15 minutes from beach trails and 20-25 minutes from the town of Brookings.

Other things to note

There are farm animals located near the property and we ask that guests only approach them when owner is present. There is a small cat house located beneath the deck where two senior cats are living out their days and we ask that guests do not allow them inside the home and that adults and children approach them calmly if at all. Do not leave pets alone in the house. There is a large, fenced yard for their "business" and we ask that you clean up afterward, poo bags are provided.

Beautiful gem

We had an amazing long weekend at Ted and Sharon’s lovely home. Everything was spotless clean, the home had everything we need, the views were unbeatable, and the location was perfect for exploring all the beautiful beaches and hiking trails. The farm tour was a sweet way to end the wonderful weekend. 💕

It was nice

We truly enjoyed the home. We had miscommunication over animals but after we paid an extra fee everything was fine. However you stay at this place I would recommend taking pictures of any damages prior.

About the host

Host profile image
Originally from Denver, CO, I moved to Brookings 27 years ago when I got married to a cowboy. I am now a hobby farmer, chandler, chicken tender, goat herder, shepherdess, mother to dogs and cats (since my children grew up and left). I am located directly across the road and can address any issues, questions, interests you may have. I spend my days in the garden and greenhouse and tending to our many animals which include 2 horses, highland cows, chickens, babydoll sheep, goats and Sebastopol geese. Also, 2 very spoiled Australian shepherds and multiple cats. My husband helps.

Why they chose this property

My husband grew up in the hills above Brookings when his family moved here to start a sheep ranch. The secluded location is perfect for views, peace and quiet and enjoying local attractions.

What makes this property unique

White Oak Hollow sits above the fog line, the views of mountains to the east and the ocean from the top of the driveway are magnificent and the peace and quiet along with star gazing is unmatched.
