Don't stay here and get scammed

The host never communicated the checkin information despite repeated requests. The evening of the day prior to arrival I called the host only to have him claim that VRBO's calendar had an error and I shouldn't have been able to book as the property was already booked. The host also falsely claimed that he had just spoken with my wife (she wasn't even traveling with me). This stay was the weekend of the National Championsip football game in Houston leaving me with nowhere to stay. When VRBO contacted the host he claimed he would refund my money (really not the point as having the property I booked to stay in was the point) but could not currently as he was in the car. If this property was double booked the host had every opportunity to notify me in advance and certainly could have responed to my multiple requests in the days prior to arrival. Do not stay here.
