About this property
Cape May Pt. Birders Paradise, 2 bedroom cottage with open floorplan & 2 porches
This 1920's beach bungalow updated in the 1960's, third generation in the same family owned by three sisters and a brother, centrally located in Cape May Point on the flyway for migrating birds and monarch butterflies. The high peaked ceiling of the open floor plan living/dining room with a galley kitchen to one side make this 465 sq. foot house feel spacious and cozy at the same time. With two small bedrooms, each containing a single/twin bed and a full-size futon sofa bed in the living room this welcoming house sleeps four persons. Two porches on either side of the house, an outdoor shower, and a gas grill outside of the kitchen add outdoor living space in the incomparable township of Cape May Point. The large living room window overlooks Pavilion Circle Park. When the outdoors beckons the house is two short blocks to the beach on the Delaware Bay with life guards during the swimming season. A two block walk in the other direction take you to Lilly Lake, otherwise know as "The Duck Pond." A mere half mile takes you to Cape May Point State Park and it's nature walks. The Victorian City of Cape May, with it's restaurants, shopping, historical attractions, ocean beaches and night life is just over 2 miles away. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT LINENS ARE NOT PROVIDED. YOU WILL HAVE TO PROVIDE YOUR OWN TOWELS, BEACH TOWELS, AND SHEETS. THERE ARE PILLOWS AND SOME BLANKETS IN THE HOUSE. You can contact Sea Dreams Linen Cape May for linen rental if you choose not to bring your own. They will deliver to the house before your arrival, and pick up the soiled linens after you leave. https://seadreamscapemay.com/

Wonderful little house! Very convenient location, beautiful overlook of the park. Loaded with every thing you might need if staying in a house. Bonus: excellent water pressure!
What a delightfully lovely little home! We adored our stay. We cooked almost every night because the kitchen had everything you need! Fantastic porch hangs and the walk to the beach was easy!!
This property offers a peaceful, beautiful retreat. It is close to the ocean, close to town, many beautiful trails around..
Everything a person needs is there. Owners are kind. All good.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the cottage. We are grateful for the screened-in porches and easy access to the beach, especially on hotter days. The kitchen might be small but it is well equipped and has everything needed to actually cook. Cape May Point is the perfect place to experience a quieter side of the Jersey Shore.
We very much enjoyed being in CMP in June for the second year in a row. The cottage is full of personality and just a couple blocks to the beach. Thank you! We look forward to the next time!
This little house looks out a nicely planted pavilion. It was the perfect size for two people. The beds were comfortable and nights very quiet.
No linens are provided. Diane the host is terrific.

There are several linen rental services in Cape May that provide linens to renters since many houses do not provide linen and towels.
The home is well equipped, well organized and in a great location. It has everything you need for a stay of any length of time. Labels help find things in the kitchen, water pressure is good and heat and a/c worked great.
The host is responsive and considerate.
I would go back!

How about why does it bloody matter? The house was fine but the futon sucked
My cousin and I rented the Birders Cottage for a week, and really enjoyed the little house, which was adjacent to Pavilion Circle, a nice birding spot in itself. During the week, my niece and a NJ friend joined us. Tho the cottage was small, it was charming and well stocked with essentials, and such unique, and well designed storage areas. The mattress in the blue room was a little hard and bumpy, but I got used to it, and we all had a wonderful time.
Beautiful time. Bring a few Sheer curtains for the porch. Makes it pretty and adds privacy. Kitchen is equipped w everything. Great outside shower .
Great all around.
Loved it. Will. Be back!
We had a lovely week. The cottage was cozy and vintage. Amenities were as per the listing. A couple of beach access paths were a very short walk. We brought our own linens and towels. We also brought our own bicycles and enjoyed riding in the point and West Cape May. We loved the porches and felt they made all the difference in this rental.
Cottage was very user friendly! Screened in porches were a delight during this hotter than hot week! Lovely to sit and sip a cool drink while observing a never ending stream of joggers, dog walkers, and couples strolling hand in hand. A little noisy with all of the lawn maintenance occurring all day every day ! Perfect for us - an older couple looking for simplicity!!
Air conditioning was none existent. Window units didn’t cool down the living room. Beds were disgraceful in terms of comfort. Screened porch and outside shower were spectacular I slept every night on the porch
My partner and I stayed for two weeks during the heat wave that gripped the East Coast this July. While the two small A/C units struggled to keep the "little house" cool, they were able to do it. We had some truly wonderful days at the beach (a 4 minute walk), and the water was fantastically refreshing. We saw dolphins everyday and my husband caught over 200 fish! (Catch and release except for a few.)
You can hear the ocean from the porch, which has an entertaining view of the "circle" park with dogs, runners, families posing for pictures, etc.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and we made some truly memorable meals. We recommend the Lobster House to buy fresh seafood and clam chowder. Restaurants: The Organic Eatery (wonderful!) and Louisa's (a classic!)
The house is small and from another era... but if you know what you're getting, it's great. The only negative thing was that the humidity made line-drying our towels and bathing suits difficult. However, one trip to the laundromat was not too bad.
Most grateful for the experience. Thank you!! Truly loved the house.

Serenity in Cape May
Great location. Typical tiny shore house. Hasn't been updated in decades. Really needs a deep clean. If I wasn't on vacation, I'd have done it myself. All in all we had a great week. Really appreciated the screened in porch.
Although we were comfortable and had a pleasant time, we are use to more privacy.
The house could use some repairs and updating, Was nervous about the electrical supply and ceiling. especially when there was a heavy rain.

The roof was repaired, so no worries there. And while not all of the electrical outlets are 3 prong outlets, the system has been inspected and has up to code breakers. And as for needing updating, the house is as described, old.
This vintage property could not have a better location. Convenient to everything and a beautiful view of the Pavilion gardens and the Cape May Light. In the early morning, I could hear the ocean from the screened in porch and walk to the Cape May Bird Observatory. The premises was definitely vintage and quaint, but clean and the owners were thoughtful in providing for needs and laying things out neatly and clearly. We especially enjoyed the two porches. Overall, a very enjoyable stay. Thank you!
My wife and I had our best vacation in years. The house may be little but it is fully stocked with anything that you would need. The old adage," location, location, location," definitely applies here. About a block and a half to one of the beaches. Beautiful park across the street. Very tranquil area. We even hung out with the next door neighbors one night using the grill drinking some beer. That little house grows on you real fast. You really had a great time! Thanks Diane!
We really enjoyed this tiny house! Everything we needed was there!
The kitchen was very well organized. The location was perfect for biking to the beach. We enjoyed going to the lighthouse and the local farm, beach Plum farm, for a few grocery items as well as lunch. The beds were not the most comfortable but after a busy day biking and at the beach sleep was easy regardless! Thanks again!
Our grandmother purchased the house in the 1950's and it has passed down through the generations. The photo of us is from 1968 and we have all aged a little. Sadly my grandmothers little car is no more, but we all still love to be at the Point. Relaxing on the porch, enjoying the beach, going in to Cape May to enjoy the restaurants and activities available and taking nature walks.
