We had a great time at this quaint cottage! The view is amazing! We enjoyed fishing and relaxing on the river, and visiting many of the nearby towns. Our host, Terry, was so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We can’t wait to return to our new favorite spot!
Quaint little cottage for a last minute summer getaway with my fiancé. We loved the screened-in porch, where we ate lots of dinners! The bed was super comfy! Thanks for sharing your cottage with us Terry!

Had a quiet getaway on the river. Terry’s cottage is a hideaway to disconnect from a busy life. We enjoyed relaxing on the dock and in the hammock over a few days. Looking forward to staying here again.

We loved this cottage. The location and views were spectacular. The cottage is rustic and charming. Hummingbirds, frogs, turtles, sunsets, coffee on the deck in the morning and cocktails on the dock at sunset. We will definitely be back!
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was just as relaxing as I’d hoped. Terry is amazing - incredibly thoughtful and attentive to your needs. I definitely recommend this charming cottage for your R&R getaway!
It was amazing to be able to see dolphins each morning from the porch! We utilized the free ferry daily. With a bit of driving, we spent time at the beach, visited oceanside communities and ate fantastic food!

Thank you for making such a long trip from Orlando to spend time on the beautiful Neuse River. It was a joy knowing that you were there and I look forward to your return.🐬
Our family of four enjoyed a long weekend in this charming cottage. The screened in porch, deck, and dock provided lovely and peaceful water views, and the kayaks were an added bonus! We had everything we needed for meal prep, but also enjoyed exploring restaurants in New Bern. It was a perfect place for us to celebrate Dads and Grads.

Thank you again for choosing this river retreat for your getaway. I hope to have the opportunity to host you again in the future. Best to you and your husband finding that perfect getaway of your own.
My partner, 6 year old daughter, and I had the most glorious stay at this perfectly placed and expertly equipped cabin on the river. Terry is lovely to work with. The ferry to cross into different terrain is minutes away. The water is delightful. And the sunsets are epic. We cannot wait to return!

Loved relaxing and watching the river!!! We saw dolphins out back and other wildlife.
Across the river we got to see the fighter jets coming and going.
Rented a boat and spent the day on the river.
A short drive to the ocean after an easy ferry ride.
The cottage was lovely and perfect for two. The outside shower is a treat as are the kayaks.
Great place and a great time!! Thank you and we hope to return🌞

Please do come again Kelly. I hope that you had a wonderful anniversary celebration on the river!🐬
This was the cutest cabin right on the Neuse river. It's so cozy but can actually sleep a good amount of people with the loft. The bed was so comfy and plenty of extra blankets and bedding provided. The AC was cold and everything you need is right there. The porch is screened in and I loved spending hours on it watching the birds and occasional dolphins go by. Terry was so helpful with ferry info and what to do across the river. Can't recommend this place enough

Why they chose this property
First and foremost, welcome to my newly renovated little slice of heaven. Call My Bluff was built in 1947 and was originally a fish camp. Fishermen came to relax for a week or weekend of fishing and preparing and eating their catch. If you look above the bed in the bedroom, you can see where the stove pipe was vented through the top of the cottage to heat the fishermen. Up until the winter of 2014, the back porch was screened-in exposing the bathroom to the elements. Even though this was the quaint original structure, there were some things that needed to be modified to make this a cottage comfortable for all seasons. Enjoy the new outdoor shower, private porch with new case windows, insulation and new windows throughout, steps to the 70’ dock below, upgraded furniture, kitchen cookware and flatware, new steps and handrails to the roadside entrance, new shady umbrella for the dining table on the riverside deck and a 32” smart TV with cable and wireless internet. Bring your book, a fishing pole and some summer beverages, and you should be equipped for your vacation getaway at Call My Bluff Cottage on the Neuse River at Minnesott Beach, North Carolina. If you are single and need a retreat or if you are a couple seeking a romantic getaway, this is for you! For small families, it is a cozy spot if you love the river and relaxing on the screened-in porch, set for privacy and relaxation. Fishermen welcome. No pets please. The cottage rents for $825 per week, $325 per weekend, and $100 for each additional night. The cottage will accommodate 4. Go to vrbo to view Call My Bluff. Enter the #359773. If you would like to see the larger cottage next to Call My Bluff, go to vrbo and enter the # 245297 to view Journey’s End Cottage which accommodates 8. Journey’s End is the oldest structure along this stretch of the Neuse River. Old but equipped with everything that you need to make a week or weekend vacation optimal.
What makes this property unique
Relaxation, fishing, a sunset walk on the waterfront, meals with a view of the Neuse River, kayaking, shopping, and dining in Oriental, Beaufort or New Bern.
