It was a great weekend trip to get out of DC. The kids loved being so close to the beach. We found about 30 shark teeth!! We lit a fire nightly and it was just a great trip to relax and unwind.
This was the perfect cozy beach house. The kids were obsessed with finding shark teeth and exploring the beach, making friends with the local kids. The little creek and trail in the back provided hours of exploring. We had a fire every night with
This property is beautiful on the inside and the online photos don’t do justice to the cozy and well decorated feel of the place. There was plenty of space for our family of four. The kitchen and bathrooms and other areas have been renovated with lots of thoughtful amenities like shelves and hooks for hanging things. We loved being able to walk to the neighborhood beach and hunt for sharks teeth. Good water pressure in the showers and comfy beds. Checkin and checkout, and communication with the host were smooth and easy! We would be happy to return, and would recommend it to others!

Thank you so much! We are glad you enjoyed your visit and hope you come again soon.
We loved everything about our stay. Felt like home as soon as we arrived. The neighborhood was very nice with the little beach. The house had everything you might need, we were impressed with how well it was stocked.
My ancestors settled in the area so we explored cemeteries and visited the museums and courthouse. Ate out at several nice spots.
We will return and get to enjoy outside more. Will try to get back before summer!
Had trouble with living room remote. only complaint. The wifi was fine, my daughter worked from home.

We are glad you had a good stay. Hope your family research was fun and interesting.
Thanks for letting us know about the remote. We will get a new one.
The pictures don't do this place justice; it's cuter in person. It's clear the owners have put the effort into making this a nice getaway. We went to the area to look for fossils. The house is close to Stratford Hall and Westmoreland State Park is about 10 minutes away, but the neighborhood's private beach is an 8 minute walk and full of all the same fossils. Very convenient!
The house was comfortable and quiet. The back yard has a nice fire pit setup with chairs and benches, with enough trees around you to make it feel a bit secluded. We had half a dozen deer meandering through the yard one afternoon.
We had a minor issue with the Internet and the hosts were quick to respond and get it sorted out.
I always like to know what the kitchen of rental places has, so for anyone curious: the kitchen is stocked sufficiently for casual cooking for a family of 4-6. Any more than that and you might need to do dishes mid-day. There is a toaster and coffee maker provided.
For entertainment, each bedroom and the living room has a smart TV. There are some board games and puzzles and a good selection of DVDs, too.
We would definitely come back here again. It was a nice place to spend a few days away from home.

We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and hope you will come back.
Thank you for the review!
The host was great. Super friendly. Easy to contact and quick to resolve any matters. The house had ample space and a nice layout. The deck was very inviting. The upgrades inside were nice and lots of amenities. (Only personal preference would be to have mixing bowls and a collander) otherwise, the kitchen supplied all other needs. The dining table was really nice for meals and games. Hint: The private road to the beach is near 381 Monument DR. Turn on Wayne's Way (private road) and at the end is a small beach area...great view of the Potomac and opportunities to hunt for shark teeth. (We missed it the first day and found it on day 2). The marina/boat launch area was easy to access and decent parking. Great place to launch from for Shark Tooth Island.Neighborhood was quiet and neighbors were friendly.Good spot out of the way and only a quick 15 minute drive into town.
