Welcome to Crescent Bend, your spacious retreat at Indiana University. This historical home (with modern updates) has 3 beds / 2 baths and 4+ acres of rolling hills with early-century charm. Centrally located on the new B-Line North Extension walking/biking path, easily access IU Memorial Stadium, Assembly Hall, downtown and all that Bloomington offers! All three bedrooms are upstairs - Bedroom #1 has two Queen size beds, Bedroom #2 has two Full size beds, Bedroom #3 has one full size bed. All bedrooms have blackout curtains. One full bathroom upstairs and the other full bathroom is on the main level, near living room. We enjoyed our time here. Very comfortable and great location to IU! We appreciated that it’s a dog friendly property as well. Loved sitting on the enclosed porch and watching the deer. Although seat cushions on the chairs would be nice. Property manager was very nice and addressed a few issues when needed.

This home is beautiful and clean. The check in was simple and there were plenty of great smelling clean towels, plenty of toiletries and any time I contacted the owner with a question, I got an immediate response. I highly recommend this place for a quiet stay away from noise.

Girls retirement trip

We had a fantastic time at this house! Craig was easy to communicate with and always had fast response. Only suggestions for my comfort and privacy would to be have more curtains on first floor windows and have wine glasses and blankets for the couch’s available! Location was great and close to many things! Really enjoyed our stay!

House is very nice and was clean but it is still a work in progress that needs a little more attention. Kitchen could use some more supplies. There is no dishwasher (which was in listing) but only one dish towel was supplied, which had to be washed and dried several times. Very limited serving utensils and what was there were wooden. Fortunately, I brought some with me. A few small soup bowls for serving and one wooden salad bowl. We were planning an early Thanksgiving celebration and could have used some more kitchen utensils and larger serving bowls. There were plenty of mixed matched dishes and just enough mixed glasses. Also, the property was overflowing with autumn leaves that had not been cleared in awhile and they were wet which could be dangerous for myself and my husband aged 75 and 81. Although I received a mesage the landscaper was coming, they never arrived.I was surprised there was no information in the house with Wifi info, which network and password. Did receive info quickly after sending a message through VRBO but in other homes we have rented info was available immediately in home. Property is convenient to IU and the lovely town of Bloomington.

Great home base while touring IU

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. A little disappointed to find a vacuum cleaner half full of dirt and confetti. Upon check in we noticed that the smoke detector was sitting on the mantle with the battery popped out and the Roku remotes had been disabled with their rubber keypads removed.It’s a nice home to Enjoy while visiting Bloomington.

Very charming historic home. The kitchen could use a few wine glasses. We didn’t cook, it’s not really as well setup as some places are if you’re going to cook. The dining room table is huge , you could have quite a few people there if you needed to. Really minor criticism, it’s a wonderful old house. Wish we had been in town longer to enjoy it. We may be back when visiting our son on campus. I loved your stories of your faith journeys . We have never seen that in a VRBO before so it was wonderful to see. Lovely place really.

Perfect home for a football weekend

House had plenty of space for our family and college boys to come stay. Plenty of parking and we loved having a fall bonfire in the evening after the game.

Great stay close to IU!

We had a great stay for a few short days and easily could have stayed longer! With our soon-to-be 2-year old with us, having plenty of space for her to play was super, and it was wonderful being so close to IU and WonderLab museum. We typically make most of our meals when vacationing, so the only thing to be aware of is there are no pantry staples (such as cooking oil) aside from a few spices, so plan ahead as needed or make a quick trip to the grocery less than a mile away :)The space is great, the beds are super comfy, and there's plenty of room on the property (inside and out) to let kiddos play.We hope to be back for another stay on our next visit to Bloomington!

Great stay

Beautiful historic home that was in a great location for us - would be great to visit in the warmer months too as there is an expansive yard. Bedrooms are large and lots of living space on main floor. Furniture is comfortable - only downside is if you had a larger family there - seating for just 5 people in the living area. There are dining room chairs and kitchen chairs if needed. Would definitely stay here again.

Great location just a short drive from the IU campus. We were a last minute stay, but the house felt a little unequipped. We didn't have any dish soap to adequately wash baby bottles nor extra trash bags. That said, it was what we needed and the space was good for a family.

Great location with a good stay

We felt this was a nice place to stay for our weekend getaway in Bloomington and visiting the surrounding area. Was very easy to access the heart of Bloomington and a short drive to Brown County. The home was mostly clean. The floors felt like they hadnt been swept before pur arrival but everything else was great. We did have to dig through some closets to find trash bags and a few other essentials but all in all a great stay.

Why they chose this property

This is an established neighborhood, many of the residents have been here for 20 years+. This home sits on almost 5 acres, we enjoy the privacy while close to everything. It is walkable to IU Stadium and close to all downtown amenities.

What makes this property unique

Privacy - 5 acres of wooden property. Plenty wildlife in the backyard, i.e. deer, fox, flying squirrels, etc.
Location - 1.4 miles to IU Stadium. 2 miles to I-69. 2 miles to downtown square. 4 miles to Hospital.
