The cottage is beautiful -- artful, comfortable, very nicely appointed. It's clearly a loved place. And the location is stunning. The boulder mound behind the cottage was worth an explore -- I saw native birds and beautiful wildflowers -- and the cottage is just a mile from the west entrance into JTNP. The stars were bright at night. There was comfortable outdoor furniture. All in all, wonderful spot. We had one little problem getting the padlock open -- Doran, the host, was right on it, helping us navigate the situation from afar. We hope to come back.
This is an awesome property so close to Joshua Tree NP! Amazing views! The host was so kind to reach out to us to make sure we arrived safely and to answer any questions.
Great location to the park entrance. House was exactly as described. We loved our stay here. Super quiet. No issues. Doran was super communicative and responsive. The kitchen is well stocked with anything you could need. We thoroughly enjoyed the record collection and listened to music non stop. Amazing view, sunsets sunrises and close enough to Palm Springs. Highly recommend this spot.
Booked this just for myself as an escape for hiking in Joshua Tree NP. Wanted a modest, quiet place with privacy and a fire pit for enjoying the evening with a glass of bourbon. This place was exactly what I was looking for. Working with the host was seamless. Prompt communication and very clear instructions. Its s small home in a very quiet neighborhood. The home has a cozy "cabin" feel. It's a completely fenced in lot that is big enough to make it quite private. The west end of the yard with a mature pepper tree was where I was spending my afternoon evening times. On a rise high enough to see into the valley and have a nice view of the sky. Old conical metal fireplace was repurposed as a chiminea was absolutely perfect for having a warm, comfortable hang out on chilly nights. At night, various rock piles on the property had soft solar lighting that was welcomed but not too bright. (One rock on the east side at night looked just like a sleeping rabbit! There's wrought iron patio furniture with padding you can move from indoors, but being me, I brought my own camp chair that's ideal for slouching!Main living room had a lot of interesting things to observe. Quite an impressive vintage vinyl collection! Bedroom had a queen platform bed. VERY comfortable mattress. Glad for the area carpets because the cement floor was chilly. Bathroom is small, but quite functional with nice tiling.Internet was sufficient for browsing. I would absolutely stay here again!
