The cabin was perfect for a little getaway and lodging while celebrating our son’s graduation from OU. So many little details made the stay even more comfortable - small charging stations and lamps next to each bed, plenty of pans, utensils, and ovenware for cooking, plenty of towels and washcloths, multiple games, and even a map for the meadow and wooded trails. A beautiful cabin in a beautiful and quiet setting.
The cabin and property were amazing ! Every room had comfortable furniture and very clean. Plenty of towels/ washcloths / hot tub towels as well. Host was wonderful to communicate with !
We stayed here the end of June during almost a 100 degree weather. The house was very cool walking in which was very nice. We really enjoyed the peacefulness of it along with the fishing pond.
Great cabin in secluded area. Pond was stocked with bass, catfish and Koi. Our weekend was hot so the AC was a welcome when we came in. Lots of room to lounge around and the furniture and kitchen were new and well stocked. No complaints as place was very clean.
Great spot to reconnect with family away from all the hustle and bustle. Serene setting and beautiful cabin. Day trip to hocking hills was so much fun.
We had a great stay and really enjoyed the property. The setting is beautiful and we loved exploring the meadows and pond and looking at wildflowers. Our favorite feature of the house was the deck overlooking the pond, we enjoyed morning coffee and gorgeous sunsets, and of course listening the the birds during the day and spring peepers and bullfrogs at night. The downstairs game area is fantastic and great fun for kids. And the whole place was amazingly clean, well appointed (we love to cook and had everything we needed) and comfortable. Thanks for a great stay!
My son wanted to go camping and stay in a cabin, this place was great. He really wanted to go fishing and the stocked pond had bluegill that were biting non stop. Overall great experience!
Beautiful cabin in a tranquil location! A perfect getaway! We enjoyed the mornings sitting on the balcony listening to the birds and bull frogs, the walking trails, relaxing in the hot tub, playing air hockey, grilling and relaxing in the evening around the camp fire. It was the perfect way to spend our 34th anniversary! The Heitkamps
This cabin is absolutely beautiful. Peaceful, birds chirping every morning with the sun and bullfrogs croaking at the end of the night. Communication with the property manager/owner was fantastic and timely. Would 100% return! This was the perfect weekend getaway ☺️
My family of six (ages 15-49) had such a wonderful time at this beautiful cabin. We were super pleased with every detail! Remarkably clean, fully supplied, beautifully decorated and plenty of room are just some of the highlights. We enjoyed everything the property had to offer. The hiking trails were clearly marked and cleared. The meadow hiking is easy (slight inclines) wooded hiking definitely steeper but great for those who venture in.
The hot tub and fire pit are great. All the Hocking Hills activities are anywhere from a beautiful 40-55min drive. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
What a BEAUTIFUL, immaculate cabin! So peaceful and quiet, but lots to do! We cooked our entire Thanksgiving dinner with all the trimmings in the well stocked kitchen. We fished in the pond, talked, laughed, snuggled up in front of the fire and watched Christmas movies (the cabin was even decorated)! All of us spent lots of time in the spacious hot tub, complete with lights and falling snow! The beds were so comfortable...slept like a dream. Three floors provided tons of space. Only 25 mins from Athens where we watched our son and his GF in the marching 110! I can't say enough about this place. We needed this recharge and family time so badly. We did not want to leave and will definitely be back!
My wife and I went to this cabin to get away to the country and enjoy my birthday weekend in a log home. We were immediately met with the smell of fresh pine logs, since the cabin is still so new. Wonderful! It felt so fresh and comfortable--a great place for the two of us to stay and relax and do hiking. The hot tub was in great shape, and the couches were super comfy. The owners were great about communicating whenever we had a question.
We hiked the trails on the property, which were very nice, and we also went to the Vinton furnace trails about 20 minutes away for a 6 mile hike. Super beautiful hike--even in January!
Just a couple of things to be aware of when renting based on our experience:
-remember, there is no dishwasher.
-The owners graciously installed a dedicated 120V 20amp circuit by the driveway so we could charge our electric car at a Level 1 rate while we were there.
-The heating system does have its challenges. First, the blower sounds like it is on supercharge mode and is quite loud. The owners said unfortunately, there is nothing that can be done about that, and they are sorry the HVAC system came with a supercharged blower. The other issue is that we stayed on a fairly cold weekend with lows in the teens. The heat was set at 68 but could not keep up. In the morning it was 63 degrees. It is a heat pump, so that can be an issue in cold weather.
-Also, the pictures online don't show it, but there is a neighbor's house across the pond.
The cabin was perfect for our girl's weekend away! We didn't leave the cabin often, because it had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. The cabin is secluded with beautiful views! We can't wait to come back!
