The setting is active and social—perfect for guests looking to explore the Keweenaw. We live next door and are happy to help if needed!
✦ Listing space:
This cozy, trail-facing cabin is part of a 5-unit property less than a mile from downtown Hancock and Houghton. It’s a short drive to Michigan Tech, Mont Ripley, and local favorites like Suomi Bakery, Ambassador restaurant, and Studio Pizza.

Inside, your cabin is private and self-contained. Outside, shared amenities include:
✦ Hot tub & sauna
✦ Game room (free to play)
✦ Firepit & picnic tables
✦ Seasonal kayaks & bikes
✦ Cornhole & lounge chairs
✦ Direct trail access
✦ Gas grill (on request)
✦ Parking for vehicles & trailers
☀️ You're also welcome to enjoy our beach, part of our private yard. It’s a shared space, so you might see us or other guests—feel free to swim, launch a kayak, or relax lakeside.
🧼 We prioritize cleanliness: all bedding—including comforters—is freshly laundered before each stay. Every cabin receives a detailed cleaning to ensure a spotless experience.
Whether you’re here to unwind, ride, ski, or explore, it's a clean, convenient, and welcoming home base.
➤ Guest access:
You’ll have private entry and full use of the cabin. All shared outdoor spaces and amenities are available for your enjoyment. Parking is ample—even for trailers.
➤ Interaction:
We live next door in our own home and are happy to assist if needed. You may see us or other guests around, but your privacy will always be respected.
➤ Neighborhood overview:
If you're here for outdoor adventure, MTU events, or a Keweenaw getaway, this location is hard to beat.
We’re located right on the snowmobile and ATV trail, so you can ride directly from your cabin without hauling. DB Motorsports is next door for seasonal rentals, and Mont Ripley Ski Area is just ½ mile away.
We're also less than a mile from both downtown Hancock and Houghton, where you'll find local shops, breweries, restaurants, and cozy coffee spots. The cabin is also just across the lake from Michigan Tech University, making it ideal for visiting students, families, and alumni.
Nearby attractions include the Quincy Mine Tour, Dee Stadium, Bridgefest, and the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum—plus plenty of trails, waterfalls, and scenic drives to explore the best of the Upper Peninsula.
➤ Transit/getting around:
A car is helpful for getting around, though most destinations are within a 5-minute drive. In-season, you can ride directly from the cabin via trail.
➤ Listing notes:
Cabin #1 shares a wall with Cabin #2 and our workshop. There’s no interior connection, and each unit has private access. You may hear occasional daytime noise, but most guests find the cabins quiet and comfortable. If anything becomes disruptive, just let us know—we’re happy to adjust.
✔ No commercial use, subletting, or illegal activity allowed.
✔ Guest count must match the reservation. You can update it anytime before check-in.
✔ Only registered guests may access the property and use the amenities.
✔ No pets (including emotional support animals). A $500 fine and/or eviction may apply if violated.
✔ No smoking or vaping indoors. Outdoor smoking/vaping is fine—please clean up. Cannabis is not permitted anywhere on the property.
✔ No outdoor music—please help us keep the atmosphere peaceful for all guests and neighbors.
✔ Late check-outs without prior approval may incur a $35/hour fee, as we need time to prepare for the next guest.
✔ ATVs & Snowmobiles: Ride only to and from the trail. Do not ride on neighboring private property—thanks for helping us keep good relationships with neighbors.
✔ Quiet hours begin at 10 PM. Please keep noise respectful at all times.
✔ No refunds for power outages or occasional issues with hot tub, sauna, appliances, internet, or game equipment.
✔ Breaking house rules may result in eviction without refund and/or additional charges.
✔ Above all: Be respectful, use common sense, and treat the space like home.
