About this property
Stargazer’s Escape: Sweeping Red Rock Views From Four Balconies
Treat yourself to an unforgettable vacation, staying in one of the best locations in the incredible dark sky city of Sedona. Our home offers amazing hiking trails right out your front door - skip the long lines at the more popular trails in the city, and enjoy picturesque hikes with incredible views, some just 10-15 minutes away on foot.
Experience peaceful, relaxing countryside living in Sedona. Our home is a newer stucco construction, tastefully decorated with Southwest decor from room to room. There are beautiful red rock views from the house from four balconies, as well as the greenery of the surrounding high desert forest. Most importantly, our home is just a few steps to an Arizona gem, Crescent Moon Ranch, home of Red Rock Crossing at Oak Creek. Enjoy several wonderful hiking trails and swimming holes. Every season here is STUNNING! Red Rock Crossing is one of the most photographed sites in all of Arizona, and you will be able to enjoy its winding trails on a daily basis. If you'd rather hang out in the city for the day, our home is also a very short drive away to the heart of Sedona with all that it has to offer. Local grocery stores (including many organic and gluten free options), a variety of restaurants, boutiques, shops, art galleries and cultural entertainment venues are just a few minutes drive away.
This comfortable, well equipped 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is located in a peaceful, quiet neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Sedona. Wake up rested and refreshed on very comfortable beds. There is one king bed on the lower level, with its own armoire and 32 inch TV with streaming on Youtube TV, offering 85 of the most popular cable channels, sports and local stations as well as Netflix and Prime Video. There are two queen sized beds upstairs. One upstairs bedroom has a large walk-in closet and a personal balcony with panoramic views of Cathedral Rock and Brins Mesa. Stargazing from this balcony is breathtaking. There are full bathrooms on each floor, completely stocked with towels and a first aid kit.
Sip your favorite beverage on one of our four balconies and relax as you watch for wildlife and enjoy the serenity and beauty of the area. Our outdoor spaces are equipped with seating up to six, and include nice areas to eat dinner or socialize with friends.
The flagstone patio in the backyard looks out to Pyramid Rock and has a Weber barbecue grill with seating for outdoor dining.
The home is also equipped with a large capacity washer and dryer and a fully stocked kitchen including everything you need to cook that special meal - a gas oven, cooking utensils, crockpot, blender and a few extra surprises like granola bars, coffee and tea to enjoy in our sunny kitchen. There is an oak kitchen table which can be expanded for seating up to six.
The inviting rustic yet modern living room is equipped with leather couches, a reclining lounge chair, oak furniture and a 50 inch Fire TV offering YouTube TV for streaming your favorite shows. Since our home is in a valley, some may find that there can be spotty cell phone reception, therefor we provide a landline for free local and long distance calls within the US. Wi Fi is available for your internet needs.
Our home is located next to a state park, and it is likely that you will observe occasional sightings of the local wildlife. Guests have seen a variety of animals, including javelina, coyotes, bobcats, deer, rabbits and a multitude of birds. In fact, many refer to our home as a virtual bird sanctuary when sitting on the balconies relaxing to the sound of the bird songs. At night you will enjoy a dark and quiet setting, as Sedona has been recognized as an international dark sky city. Many of our guests comment that our sky is the best they've ever encountered when it comes to stargazing.
One of the greatest attractions to this home is the ability to walk just 10 minutes to Red Rock Crossing at Crescent Moon Ranch State Park with its stunning view of Cathedral Rock. This is one of the best locations in Sedona, hidden away in a valley right next to your accomodations. Early morning and evening walks along Oak Creek can hardly be described - your senses will be overcome by the beauty of the Cathedral Rock views, the smells of the lush vegetation and the sounds of the running creek. Access to hiking, biking and swimming are available by stepping right out the front door.
The Verde Valley is a short drive from our home, with many sites worthy of visiting including the Verde River for kayaking, Jerome mining and ghost town, Verde river railway, Montezuma’s Castle and much more.
If you wish to be adventurous, balloon rides, helicopter excursions and pink jeep tours await you only a few minutes away.
We scrupulously clean our home using CDC guidelines and recommended cleaning solutions.
Security camera located in driveway.

About the host
Hosted by Michael and Brenda Phipps
Brenda and Michael both grew up in Phoenix, Arizona, met at Northern Arizona University, and have lived in Flagstaff for 45 years. They have loved exploring neighboring Sedona all these years, and now make it their second home. Brenda has been helping mothers and babies as a lactation consultant since 1991. Michael is a retired middle school math and science teacher, an occupation he enjoyed for 23 years.
Why they chose this property
We chose this property because of its beautiful, secluded location. This rural location is a walk back in time, to the way Sedona used to be before the city life came along. It truly is a magical place, and the drive down into the valley to reach the home is a scenic trip in and of itself.
From the minute we took ownership of this home, we realized how lucky we were! It is in one of the most relaxing, treasured spots in all of Sedona. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, this is it. You will feel refreshed and in tune with all the natural wonder Sedona has to offer.
Michael's dream has always been to have a home near the water, and his dream was realized when we found this home only a short walk away from the most beautiful part of oak creek. We love it here, and we want to share this beautiful and special location with others.

What makes this property unique
We think you will find that this home is uniquely located to meet your vacation needs. It is located a 15 minute drive away to Uptown Sedona, Tlaquepaque and the art gallery district, yet tucked away in a beautiful valley surrounded by forest, hills, red rocks and wildlife. If you choose to stop at the Pink Jeep Tour office in uptown, you can take other trips into the red rocks that afford fantastic views. Uptown Sedona is also the entryway to Oak Creek Canyon, a 12-mile piece of paradise in which you can easily spend an entire day exploring. Boynton Canyon is another scenic area located very close to our home, and offers many fantastic hiking opportunities. Our home is only a 10-minute drive to Page Springs Winery tours and other fun activities in the Verde Valley. And finally, our home is right where the action is when it comes to cultural activities, with the Sedona Center for Performing Arts and Sedona Cultural Center a 5-minute drive up the road.
We also think you will discover that this area is in the best part of Oak Creek near Crescent Moon State Park - less crowded and extremely beautiful. A bird watcher's paradise! And if you like swimming holes, you are in for a treat, as there are several of them located along the trail.
