About Julie and Wayne
We created many happy family memories in this lodge with our 5 kids and 18 nieces and nephews over the past 18 years. At times, we had over 25 guests for the holiday weekends. Now you have the opportunity to create happy memories as you get together with those you love.
Julie and Wayne purchased this House in 2001
Why Julie and Wayne chose Holcombe
We built this lodge when all our kids and nieces and nephews were young. It is a perfect getaway with a quiet street, quiet waterway and a large comfortable space. There is something for everyone with the different amenities of both lakes. Pine Lake is quiet, no wake and great for fishing, canoeing or paddle boating. Take your boat under the bridge from Pine Lake to Lake Holcombe and you have over 3900 acres of water to explore. On Lake Holcombe you can choose beaches and picnics in the park (3 county/public beaches/ picnic areas to choose from), fine and casual dining, bar and grills, live music or just put the anchor down and enjoy the serene beauty. Don't forget to explore Cranberry lake too. There are many low traffic areas to bike or walk. Neighbors are friendly.
What makes this House unique
We love to fish, paddle boat and explore Pine Lake in the early morning hours (listen carefully and you will hear the loons on Pine Lake) and then head out to Lake Holcombe with the water skiers as the sun gets hot later in the day. Cranberry Lake is also filled with great fishing spots and if you are lucky, you will find the eagles in their nest on the east end of the lake. With so many lightly traveled roads, we do alot of biking and walking. Our family enjoys the winters by snowshoeing and snowmobiling. The beautiful snowmobile trail system can be accessed from the lodge.

Peaceful and Relaxing
Overall.. nice place to stay. A few suggestions.. Would have been nice if beds were made. Cleaning instructions upon leaving were excessive since we paid a “ cleaning” fee. Nice if we were given info on where to eat, where to buy groceries, what to do in area. Enjoyed sitting on deck to visit but would have enjoyed a table to eat on out there. Needs rugs in bathroom and at outside doors. Stuff gets tracked in without rugs. Master bathtub nice but very slick, needs some kind of mat. Nice house, ok beds.
Great Time On the Lake
My family of about 16 and up at times just had a four day stay at the best rental house in the Lake Holcombe area. The house lay out is perfect for large groups with big open common areas, and private nooks when needed. The kitchen is built to serve big meals with a large deck and nice lawn area for making smores in the firepit. There's one large TV which was great in that the other common areas were used for interacting. The game room basement has ping pong, fussball, a beer keg draft, and other things to keep the kids happy.
The biggest complaint was that we had to leave. Looking forward to our next visit.
We have stayed here several times and it never disappoints.
Great place on a awesome lake
Would definitely stay here again. Game room downstairs was a highlight. Only feedback is the grill could use new grates.
Great vacation home
The Pine Lodge is very roomy and accommodated our family quite well.
Great space on all levels, good beds, two refrigerators were nice. Nice big trees in the yard, caught fish on the dock!
So happy to hear! Thanks for taking such great care of our home. It would be our pleasure to have you back as guests in the future.
golf, live music on the weekends at local drinking establishments, picnics at the park, sand beach and boat launch about 1 mile, fishing, swimming, snorkeling, boating, kayaking, canoeing, skiing, wakeboarding, biking, roller blading, bon fires, snowmobiling, snowshoeing ... great memories are yours.
