The large kitchen with two dishwashers was key! We also utilized the second fridge in the garage. The breakfast bar and giant dining room table meant we were able to eat meals together.

This is our fourth summer in this house - it is perfect for our multiple families. The great room lets us all spend time together, and the beach is so close, and so quiet. We arrived to an issue left from the previous group. The owner/management was responsive and fixed it quickly.

We stayed here for a few days as part of a bigger group that stayed nearby in the community. The house is private and tucked away in a wooded area. The house has a nice layout and a common area with a big sectional off the kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious with nice mattresses. A short walk down a path takes you the beach. It was perfect for our group!

We had such a great time here for a large family gathering. The house was very clean and well equipped and perfect for our party of 11. The beach is just a short walk away. Great communication too with the owner to help us get in when I deleted the welcome email by mistake!

Family vacation to celebrate a milestone birthday

The property was beautiful and exactly how it was advertised. The bay was private and beautiful. The pool was also clean and enticing. Plenty of room for all my kids their spouses and my grandson and the doggies!

This is the second time our family has stayed at this property, and we are thrilled. The location can't be beat, the layout of the house is absolutely perfect for multiple families and cousins, and the hosts are communicative and helpful. We can't wait to come back!

The house was very nice . They had everything you needed for beach and pool , chairs, umbrellas, pool noodles . The kitchen was well stocked with cooking items . There was even kids games and blocks. The only thing I would say just to let others know if you have elderly travelers the short walk to the beach is not something within their ability to get to especially if you have any items to carry . That is no fault of the house just something for others to be aware of if they are traveling with anyone with mobility issues. Otherwise we had a great time and enjoyed the property. The pool was large and not crowded at all so we loved that . Also we found the Kiptopeke state park just 8 minutes from the house has free admission for handicapped people and had a short walk to the water and was beautiful and not crowded and you could be right next to the water. Definitely a hidden gem !

You do get the best of both worlds staying at Bay Dunes. The private beach access starts right past the driveway and the Community pool is just down the street. Awesome location!!!

We choose this loacation in Cape Charles due to the COVID craziness and it did not disappoint!!! Very clean and very private compared to other vacation hotspots like Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach. Will definitely be coming back in the future!!!

Our stay in Port Charles, VA

Despite some rough weather, we all had a great time. The house is beautiful with great views and only a short walk to the beach or a private pool. Our grandchildren loved it as did the adults. When weather dictated indoors activities, we went to the very friendly town of Port Charles or to the aquarium in Norfolk. We would definitely go again.

This was an end of the Summer family vacation. First time on the eastern shore. House was great, in a great location. Probably the best stocked house that we had stayed from kitchen appliances and utensils to beach chairs and floats. Looking forward to going back

Our Stay

We were very pleased with the size of the house. Our large family was comfortable and we were able to enjoy activities together or go off by ourselves too. Just a couple of items: slow drainage in one shower downstairs, very dirty grill on deck, and the sink in island didn’t work. But no big issues and the private beach and pool were wonderful.

Week at Cape Charles

House was great overall. A/C was out on the main upstairs floor. We were credited 50% for the inconvenience. Hoevever, It did affect the overall time by all.

The best house we've ever had for our five-couples getaway. Five king or queen bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms. Plus a den with a futon. Great kitchen; huge dining room table (for 12), gret light with decks all-around the house on two levels. About a 200-yard walk to a secluded beach or a 200-yard walk in the other direction to a really nice swimming pool. Sadly, it was 90 degrees and humid most of the time outside, but the air conditioning worked well. Downtown Cape Charles is really nice and is only fifteen minutes away by car; a good Food Lion is ten minutes away. Norfolk is only about 40 minutes away but you do have a steep toll on the bridge. We'd stay again, but would opt for a cooler and less buggy time than early September.
