The Acorn Shores cottage is in the ideal location to experience all that Hayward have to offer. 15 min. to town, 4 minutes to the boat launch and trail access. Plenty of parking for 2 trailers in the roundabout at the end of the drive.
BEDROOMS/BEDS:
This property features a spacious master suite and a second bedroom with lake views and a daybed/trundle combo. In addition, the couch in the living room pulls out into a queen bed with a comfortable memory foam mattress. Looking for a space to sleep multiple adults? The Acorn Shores Lake House next door sleeps 10 and more comfortably sleeps multiple couples. (Please note that the two buildings are close to each other but that the cottage has curtains for privacy). Newly added is a dedicated private firepit, dock, and large deck overlooking the lake.
BOATING INFORMATION:
Yes, you are more than welcome to bring your boat! The cottage features a brand new dock perfect for docking your boat while here. If you are interested in pontoon rental, Hayward Power Sports offers pontoons and we have a discount code for those who end up booking with us. Please note that our lake is a no wake lake, however there is a navigable channel at the top to Upper Twin lake, where you can reach the other lakes on the chain and also enjoy boating and tubing from 11AM-5PM every day.
SWIMMING/KAYAKING/CANOING: The water on our lakefront gently slopes out and is roughly 3-4 feet deep at the end of the dock. The lake is spring-fed so the water is clear. As the lake bed is mucky, ideal conditions for swimming would be off a boat or off the lily pad provided at the property to get some distance from shore. These two conditions (clear water and mucky lake bed) make for excellent fishing which we will go into detail about in the next section. We provide two kayaks and a canoe for guests to use when the water is open.
HOT TUB ACCESS: Hot tub access is only available on weeknights when we don't have anyone booked at the lake house. The hot tub MAY be available select weekend dates when the lake house is vacant, and if so will be offered to you for a fee of $125 a day or two before your check-in.

ACCESS: Codes are sent on the day of check-in via message on your booking platform. Guests are able to self check-in anytime after 4pm via the electronic deadbolt.
PARKING/DRIVEWAY: The cottage has parking for 3 cars. Extra parking may be available by request. Please note that our driveway is quite steep and 4WD is required in the winter months. Fortunately, our property shares a round-a-bout with the next door neighbor and guests are able to use the neighbors drive when needed.
AMENITY LIMITATIONS
This cottage is situated on a resort and has some shares amenities with the lake house next door. Currently the sandbox area, EV charger, lily pad, and canoe are shared. The buildings are close to each other (maybe 20 feet away), however both homes have curtains for privacy. Newly added in fall of 2023 is a sloped path down to the lake area. There are 6 stairs along the path, however guests with mobility issues should consider whether they are able to navigate inclined and uneven paths before booking with us.
DOG POLICY
We welcome the canine members of your family to vacation with you! This is a dog-friendly property and there may be dogs present during your stay in the lake house or neighboring property which shares a roundabout with us. Please make sure you and your party are comfortable around friendly dogs. All dogs on the property are expected to be registered with the host through the signing of our dog policies, well-behaved, good around unfamiliar people, non-aggressive and not prone to prolonged barking/yapping. An extra cleaning fee of $100 is required for guests who bring a pooch in order to preserve the cleanliness of the property for the next guests. We provide dog friendly amenities such as a dog bed, and water and food bowls. This property has a limit of one dog unless otherwise approved by the host.
