Thank you for considering our newly renovated, Custom 4 Bedroom, 2 Bath Ranch Style home on Cliff Drive in west Rapid City. Property is situated just south of Canyon Lake on top of the cliff and our back yard overlooks Chapel Valley and Highway 44 west into the Black Hills. Exclusive neighborhood above the city. The summer sunsets are magical. The property is peaceful. Remodel of master bedroom with king bed. Dry Sauna. We have extensive landscaping, native plants, colorful annuals and perennial gardens to enjoy. In addition, there is plenty of parking for large rigs, trailers etc. on 1.5 acres. We could easily house 8-10 comfortably with beds for 8. There are two 50 gallon hot water heaters for easy, back to back showers, baths and laundry. 4 new flat panels throughout, cable and high speed 5G internet access with wireless amplifiers for quick access. Brand new GE appliances including two new Amana/Lennox HVAC systems for year round comfort. No smoking inside, but single car garage converted into a "Cliff Cave" entertainment room with flat panel and chairs and table for night owls. Smokers can use the space between garages for their relaxation. Pet Friendly with additional $250 flat fee. Be comfortable, relaxed and experience Sunset Cliff!

Fantastic experience! Clean, expertly renovated property with excellent outdoor/indoor living spaces. Front and back decks, tons of plants and trees and at least 80 seating choices in the exterior grounds. Felt very much at home as soon as we arrived. Owners are attentive & friendly. Close to Rushmore, Custer and many more SD attractions. Rapid City is a cool destination and downtown has a lot to offer.

We can’t say enough about our stay on Cliff Drive. If you are looking for peaceful and quiet this is it. Secluded garden spots are throughout the well cared property for individual needs. Minutes from the grocery store and all major highways to the hills. We enjoyed our stay, thank you!

This was an amazing property inside and out. We had lots of room for a group of 8. We vacationed with my son and his family. The kitchen was beautiful and well equipped. The outside gardens were in bloom and so pretty. It was like an oasis! Our grandkids had plenty of space for outdoor exploring. We even had a small deer appear in the backyard!We were on the go every day and it was so relaxing to come back to this home to relax. The hosts were quick to respond with a couple of questions we had. I highly recommend this home when you want to explore Rapid City and beyond!Thank you Leroy and Kim! We hope to be back!

Awesome VRBO! Amazing gardens and lots of outdoor sitting space, nice views. Fully functional kitchen with all the pots, pans, etc. you would ever need. Bedrooms spaced out and comfortable. Very responsive hosts (although we had no issues at all). Thoughtful amenities. Very relaxing and comfortable space. Close to town and key sites (Rushmore, etc.) Would absolutely stay here again.

Absolutely breathtaking inside and out

Ok, where do we start. First we felt at home as soon as we walked through the door. The home has everything you could ask for and more. The views are nothing like I've seen before, everyday is a new adventure outside. The 7 deer we watched everyday come and go as they like, we named them the "Canyon Family". The location is the best. Thank you, we will be back and hope this property will be open for us to rent again.

We thought the grounds were beautiful, we were a little disappointed on the age of the home. It was clean and well taken care of, the owners were as sweet as pie and we would stay again. We did feel the price for the age of the home was a little high and calling the exercise room that when it was one machine and the theater that when it was the living room seemed a little strange. Also our whole time was in the rain so that changes everything as we had to spend so much time inside.

Inviting retreat!

My husband and our adult children (with one 10 month old) spent four days in this VRBO -- and it was great! There are many, MANY spaces to just sit and unwind after busy days of sightseeing and other activities. The yard and gardens are peaceful and so lovely! The owners are serious about leashing any visiting pets, with good reason. There is a lot of wildlife in this area (many deer, MORE wild turkeys, cottontails, squirrels, and the usual visiting birds!). Please prepare to leash your pets for their safety and that of the visiting fauna. The beds were comfortable, there was enough hot water for everyone to shower, the kitchen is well-appointed, and the hospitality of the owners was very appreciated! We'd definitely recommend to anyone traveling with family or a group of friends who might appreciate the serenity and location to so many of the attractions in The Black Hills. Plenty of space, VERY clean

We booked this property as a launching point to Mt. Rushmore and various other attractions. This is in a very nice area of Rapid City, VERY quiet and set up on top of a hill. The property is landscaped perfectly, it's really quite stunning. You can tell the owners care deeply for nature. Plants and flowers are everywhere. Once inside, the home was AMAZINGLY clean. The kitchen is huge and updated with one of the biggest kitchen islands I've ever seen. The living room description mentions theater seating which is true but it can be a bit awkward if having group discussions since you're not actually facing each other. That said the kitchen island has plenty of seating to make sure everyone is able to be together. Off of the kitchen is a door to the attached garage which is actually a man cave/she shed with a TV and seating. You can open the back door and the garage door to this space to get a great breeze. Again, that area was very clean for being an indoor/outdoor space. There is a 2 car detached garage if you'd like to park cars in there as well. My son loved the basketball hoop that was mounted on the garage as well. On the other side of the house are all the bedrooms. The master is smallish but does have a massive closet. The master bathroom is a little dated and does offer a sunken tub/shower so if you have issues with mobility you'd have to use the other bathroom which has a standard walk-in shower. Off of the master is another room that has the sauna as well as the washer and dryer. This rooms is pretty big and has tons of empty wire shelves if you need storage. The room is heated and cooled but we kept the slider shut from the actual master bedroom. The rest of the bedrooms are decent size and offer queen beds. The room at the end of the hall has a TV, small desk, microwave, and mini fridge. There is a basement space as well with tons of board games. The decks in the front and backyard are great. There is a gas grill in the back as well as a firepit and hammock. Again, the space is very well maintained. Mt Rushmore is about 30 min away, Custer State Park, around 45 min, Wind Cave, a little more than an hour and the Badlands/Wall, also around an hour. All places we visited. The owners were kind to leave maps and travel guides to all of the spots as well.. Overall this is great place that is very clean, quiet and large enough for our family of 6. We would HIGHLY recommend this spot for anyone heading to South Dakota!

This was a great spot for our family. It's a beautiful property with good views and nice spots to sit and have coffee in the morning or a bonfire in the evening. We spent the week taking day trips to the attractions in the area. The house is located in a great spot to see a lot of attractions within an hour drive. I would definitely recommend!

Great house!

It was exactly what we were expecting!!! Beautiful home. It was decorated for Christmas which was so fun for my kids! (2 & 4). It is fully stocked so don’t worry about bringing any kitchen gadgets! It was great because it felt more like a home and not a hotel. We spent most of our time out by the fire pit.

A Great Place to stay in the Rapid City area

The house was perfect for our setting and so was the yard. The yard was spacious so the kids could get out of the house to run and play games. The garage that is connected to the house was a great addition because it's not really a garage but a place to unwind and talk about the day.

Could not have been a better place!!!

Our group rented the house for our trip to the Sturgis bike rally. The place was really a great location as it was on the west side of town so getting things easy as it was pretty centralized and it was just awesome. The description was spot on with everything. Got to meet LeRoy when we got there and don’t imagine there could a better host .

What a remarkable site for family and outdoor gatherings!

This was an extra-ordinary experience that made a family reunion and celebration super convenient. I grew up in Rapid and know the city well. There isn't another place I could imagine that I could have a large family stay in the same location without it feeling like we were all squeezed into a house. The fact that this place is set up for outdoor relaxing, retreating and entertaining is the hallmark. The owners, LeRoy and Kim, were not only welcoming, they invited us to use their own entertainment equipment (tables, grill, roasters, serving dishes, etc.) for our needs. I can't imagine the effort, cost and hassle it would have been to rent another facility for our gathering. It was all in one place and made the whole weekend delightful.

We love to hike and garden together! The pic is from atop Crazy Horse Monument during the annual Volksmarch. We recently completed a six-figure remodel, new cabinetry, ton of upgrades, including all new appliances and 2 HVAC. systems for year round comfort. Our Cliff Cave entertainment room makes independent relaxing for night owls. We are a fourth generation family of early German beet farmers that migrated into Rapid City after the droughts in the mid-50s.

Why they chose this property

I got lost in this part of town as a high-school kid. I said if I ever returned to Rapid City, this is where I want to live - Sunset Cliff!
We appreciate being near town but not in the city.
