Well Appointed, Very Strong Wifi, Great Owners, Great Location, Very Comfortable beds and living areas, Nice Yard and Patio [and] If you are familiar with Bear Valley rentals, somewhat rustic homes with lots of character and great location, this one is the nicest I have stayed in by far.”
The sleeping accommodations are as follows:
Bedroom #1: great for the kids; it has a bunk Bed (Twin over Full Size Beds) and a pull out full mattress under bunkbeds and sleeps up to 5.
Bedroom #2: has a queen bed and a bunk-bed (Twin over Twin) sleeps up to 4.
Bedroom #3 (Master Bedroom): has a comfortable queen bed, wood fireplace, master bath and a deck that is only accessible during Summer/Fall months.
In addition, there is a fold out queen size futon bed downstairs in the family room.
In the Spring/Summertime, our Cabin features a beautiful seasonal creek running in the back and a private rock fire-pit in front, perfect for roasting marshmallows. You can relax in our hammock by the firepit. There is plenty off street parking at the cabin. The cabin is located within waking distance to private Bear Lake, Village Swimming pool, park, library, restaurants and 4 miles to Alpine Lake.

'The cabin was in great shape, obviously cared well for by your family, and we tried to leave it that way. We had a fun time! The kids especially enjoyed the toys and the movies. We did make a nice sledding run in the back yard woods, which we hope can be enjoyed by others, as well.' B & E from Oakland, CA.
'We had a wonderful time thank you - ...I hadn't appreciated how open plan the lay out was from the photos. That said, we loved the cabin and the location so hopefully there will be another chance for us to come back. ' M, from Palo Alto, CA.

About the host
Hosted by Katia M. Hinrichsen

We are a family of four from the Bay Area and we love skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, cross country skiing, hiking, fishing, kayaking and all that Bear Valley offers! :)
Why they chose this property
Our cabin's location is incredible! It is ideal for a mountain getaway in the winter wonderland and yet in close proximity to downtown, for restaurants and ski shuttle, so you don't feel like you are away from the action but yet it is secluded as it sits on over 1/3 acre next to green open county land. We enjoy the spacious level lot, adjacent to green space providing serene outdoor living . Cabin also provides for an easy winter access for our family and friends. Summer time, we fell in love with the seasonal creek that runs behind our cabin and the downtown proximity so kids and the whole family can ride their bikes or walk to the lake, swimming pool, park, library, restaurants etc... We are also close to Spicer Reservoir, Stanislaus river and of course Lake Alpine.
What makes this property unique
This cabin is one of the closest to the village, providing easy winter access and it is kids friendly. (We have xbox 360, several PG DVDs, toys, games, kids little table, portable highchair & crib). Our cabin is updated, always well maintained, well furnished and fully stocked with all amenities of your own home for your ultimate comfort. We also provide our guests with a tandem kayak for your leisure in the summertime located at our local private Bear Lake.
