Camp Betty makes it easy to relax
Camp Betty is set up to make it easy to relax and play in the lake and in the house. There are kayaks , canoes and more to enjoy , the lake is protected by a lot of forests so is not too busy, the water is warm. Inside lots of games and a well equipped kitchen. Not fancy and very comfy.

Relaxing at the lake
We enjoyed swimming, canoeing and kayaking on Ward Pond, and fishing too! The cabin was very quaint and relaxing, with a screened porch where we could sit and watch the pond while sipping morning coffee. With 4 bedrooms there was plenty of room to spread out, and a nice big table to gather for games and meals. The neighborhood is very quiet, a great get away from it all place. Dallas was helpful and a great host.

An amazing 3 weeks at Camp Betty
My wife and I rented this property for 3 weeks in July and had a rotating cast of our friends come to visit while we were there. The amazing camp (what Mainers call cabins) was full of charm and perfect for us and our friends. Ward pond is a beautiful and quiet body of water, and the water in the little cove next to the camp was warm, private, and perfect for swimming, floating, paddling the provided kayaks and canoe, and fishing for the sizable bass that live in the pond. The kitchen was one of the best stocked kitchens we have ever found at a rental house, with knives that were actually sharp and plenty of pots and pans. The air conditioning did its job well on warm, humid days, and the screened in porch was perfect for hanging out at night or on rainy days. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Perfect family camp experience
This was our fourth year visiting Camp Betty. Our family loves this rustic but cozy camp. We had quite a bit of rain this year but we were still able to enjoy the camp. It is set up quite well so that you don’t feel on top of each other. The large screened in porch over looks the pond and is a very relaxing place to sit and enjoy coffee or have your lunch. There are lots of games and books to read if you need them. Once the weather improved the kids did tons of swimming. We were able to get out on the water in the kayaks, canoe and paddle boat that are all provided. We also did a bit of fishing and frog catching in the cove. It’s a very nice private spot where you can relax in a hammock right down by the water. There a good chance that you’ll see some beautiful Loons! Camp Betty is also conveniently located near grocery stores as well as other retailers in case you need/ forgot anything. Dallas is a wonderful host who is there for whatever you need. If you are looking for a fun but relaxing camp experience, this is the place to be!!

About the host

We are avid gardeners, we love DIY-ing, and our summer properties give us enough projects to last from spring to fall! We have a nice camp neighborhood, with good friends.

Why they chose this property

Dallas grew up in the area, and used to come to Ward Pond to visit friends. As an adult, a property came up for sale, and a purchase was made. The adjoining property became available, so Dallas and Emily purchased it, and named it "Camp Betty" to honor Emily's mother. The decision was made to fix it up as a guest cottage and rental property.

What makes this property unique

The camp has views of the back cove, we named "Doaky Cove." It is quiet and private, and afternoon stretches on for days.Full length porch. Screen house. Hammock. Dock. Sandy swimming area. Sunny mornings drinking coffee on the front deck. Horseshoe tournaments. Campfires. Lazy. Hazy. Crazy. Days of Summer..
