Fabulous rental
If I could have given it more than 5 stars I would have. Beautiful, quiet area and the place is stunning. The gas fireplace in the dining area was great, has pretty much everything you could need and incredibly stylish (the retro fridge and microwave were very cool). Can’t speak to the pullout but the king in the master might have been the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in and the double shower is awesome. The hosts were friendly and responsive. Went to hike and the number of trails within 30 minutes was great, plus the Cinema 18 minutes away in Great Barrington came in handy on the day of biblical rain. Could not recommend this property more. I will be back.

peaceful escape with architectural treasures
From booking to check out we had an excellent experience. Nick and Tiffany were attentive and responsive hosts. The house/barn was clean, thoughtfully decorated and comfortable. It had everything we needed. The shower was exceptional, bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. The welcome book was filled with helpful information including restaurant recommendations and area activities. We would go back in a heartbeat!

About the host

Host profile image
We both grew up in the Berkshires and are so happy to call this beautiful place home and raise our family here. Tiffany works in early child intervention and therapy and Nick as an architectural designer.

Having family lineages in the area for nearly 150 years, we love showing frequent visitors and newcomers alike all the Berkshires has to offer!

Why they chose this property

Ashley Falls, MA is a true gem in the Berkshires. Located at the very southern tip of the county, the village falls within the greater Sheffield township. Founded in the 1730's by wealthy landowner and industrialist John Ashley, the town is a beautiful showcase of later 18th and 19th century residential architecture.

We love living here as Ashley Falls truly retains its "village" feel. Our kids love biking up and down the main street and spending time with friends. The history, architecture and natural beauty of the place is one-of-a-kind.

What makes this property unique

Our property dates to 1826, and the main house was, from 1906 - 1926 the Post Office in the village.

The Blue Elm is a "modern-meets-historical" cottage. Tying directly into our antique Civil War era barn, the space includes modern amenities with beautiful historic accents. These include marble salvaged from the Daily News Building in NYC, original barn post and beam framing and reclaimed furniture from local area churches and establishments.

Privacy also abounds at the Blue Elm, as our guests enjoy a private entrance and view to our 3.5 acres of land with old growth maple trees.
