Also note:
- Beach: Use any set of stairs in the back and follow the path to the wooden walkway to the beach. The security gate code will be provided when full payment is received. You may also drive your car onto the beach. There are entrances off A1A both to the north and the south. During the summer months the town charges a small fee for this convenience. The footpath (private beach access for Quail Hollow residents) is free for the duration of your stay. Riot Act: We want to make this perfectly clear - this is a quiet, family type complex. If you are the loud partying type, this is definitely not the place for you. There is on site management and a very active homeowners association who will report if there are more than six people in the unit, loud parties, or any other disturbances. No pets are allowed in the rental units. If any of the rules are broken, you will be removed from the unit and will forfeit the rental payment. Parking: There is a designated spot for one car in the front of the complex. You may pull your car around to unload and then park in front of the sign that says “A6-3D” (it faces the road and is just about even with the walkway back to the unit). At your earliest convenience, please stop by the office and request a parking permit. Toiletries/Soaps/etc: The condo usually has toilet paper, washing machine soap, dishwasher detergent, etc. that is left over from previous tenants. However, we do NOT guarantee that all items will be provided. You may need to purchase some of these items at local stores. Linens: There is an ample supply of sheets, pillows, bath and beach towels. If you have time before you leave, please run the first load of sheets (king sized) in the wash to help out Karen, the cleaning person. (She baby sits during the week and then cleans on the weekends – God bless her!) Games/Toys: Feel free to use the games/toys/books/puzzles left in the condo. This includes the water toys and boogie boards. Please dry water toys before putting them away, or leave them in the sink. We replace these things as we can – you might want to bring some just in case the supply is low. Grocery Store: There is a Publix grocery store north on A1A (take a right out of the parking lot). It’s located a few miles down in a strip mall on the right. Also there is a Winn Dixie on the left. Video Store: There is a DVD player in the condo. Golf Courses: Royal St. Augustine, St. John's County 27 hole public course, St. Augustine Shores, Ponce de Leon Golf course, Slammer & Squire, King & the Bear, and there are six more in Palm Coast which is approx. 20 min. south. For more details click on the “Golf Courses” hypertext and go to “First Coast”. Restaurants: Nice Dining: For great steak and all around food at Conrad's Steakhouse. Here is the link: http://www.conradssteakhouse.com/ Casual Dining: Our favorite casual restaurant is the South Beach Grill ask to sit upstairs for the ocean view, great food and service. You can walk up the beach to get there (keep the ocean on your left!) or drive south on A1A (take a left) and it’s about ¼ mile on the left. A wonderful breakfast and lunch place is Green Streets, go north on A1A (take a right) and it’s about 1 mile up on the left. Or if you are on St.George Street, try The Bunnery. Very casual and the food is usually great. Fast Food/Chains: On Rte 1 off Rte 312 there is Applebees, TGIF’s, Quincy’s, KFC/Taco Bell, Chick-Fil-A, and about a half a dozen other chain eateries. Pizza and Subs: For subs and pizza Tonyolas is north a ¼ mile on the left, look for the bright yellow Volkswagon bug parked out front. We also love Larry’s Giant Subs on A1A. Cici’s Pizza buffet is a great value that the kids seem to really enjoy. Ice Cream: For ice cream, we are torn between two favorites: Beach Street (north on A1A on left) or the Marble Slab Creamery (in the Publix strip mall). Seafood: For great seafood go to the Conch House or Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille. For fried shrimp, Osteens is the place (be prepared to wait though). Italian: LaStrada Italian Restaurant is delicious! Or try our favorite Jacksonville eatery: Buca di Beppo’s (www.bucadibeppo.com) huge “family style” portions and loads of fun. Ask for the kitchen table… French: For French cuisine (they also have German food) Le Pavillion is an excellent choice. Spanish/Cuban/Mexican: In the mood for Spanish cuisine visit Columbia Restaurant located in the heart of George St. Very lovely and romantic. Acupulco is a much less expensive alternative with good Mexican food. It’s right across from the Castillo de San Marco. Eclectic/International: The Raintree Restaurant located in a beautiful old Victorian house, Gypsy Cab Co. for “urban cuisine” or a third choice is the Florida Cracker Café.
