We had an amazing stay at Shanty Creek Resort! The home was perfect for my family of 10 there was more than enough room for everyone to be comfortable, and the location was ideal with the slopes just a few minutes’ drive away. The host was fantastic and very responsive to any questions we had, which made the whole experience even better. This place was a 10 out of 10, and we would absolutely stay here again!

Shanty Creek Escape was a great place to stay for our families while skiing the long Presidents’ Day weekend. Our hosts, Danielle and Craig made the experience absolutely seamless. The house is located very close to the ski lifts, tubing, Mancelona and Bellaire. The sleeping arrangements are some of the best we’ve experienced. We comfortably slept 12 with room to spare. This place was perfect for our big group! Had everything we needed to host Thanksgiving together. The kids loved the bunk bed room and the downstairs living room for playing, and the pool was so nice as well and great activity for the kids. Everything was clean and very nice, couldn’t recommend it more! And definitely go to Short’s if you stay here, the beer is great!

Last Minute Ski Weekend

We were lucky to find this gem for a last minute ski trip with our adult children and friends. It accommodated my husband and myself and 12 young adults comfortably. Everyone had a bed to sleep in, and plenty of towels for our showers after a long day of skiing. Danielle and Craig have done a lovely job with updates and all I wanted to do was snuggle on the couch in front of the fire and read a book. The cabin is within minutes of the ski hill and tucked away in a charming community with plenty of privacy. We did not have any major issues, but the little questions I did have were responded to quickly. Thank you Danielle and Craig for being a part in helping us create memories with our children!

We really enjoyed our stay! The cabin was very cute and cozy. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking. We were really happy they had a flat top grill, since my mom has an allergy to charcoal, so it was great that we had another option for grilling. I highly recommend staying here. The hosts respond in a timely manner, we were worried due to recent flooding around the state, and they looked into for us to make sure we could get to and from the cabin without any issues.

While the start of our real estate career definitely wasn’t something we anticipated during the initial aftermath of a lightning strike, we quickly learned how much we loved watching a home transform through a major rehab, and it became our gateway into real estate investing. After experiencing the process of a live-in flip, our family moved to Plymouth, MI where we currently reside today. After investing over $100K to transform our primary residence into our dream home, we decided it was time to start investing in rental properties to transform our passion for other people.

In 2019, we purchased our first rental property. Our journey quickly escalated and over the course of 5 years, we invested in over $6M+ in real estate through investment properties in our local Southeast Michigan and Northern Michigan communities. In 2020 Danielle also became a licensed realtor in order to better support our real estate dreams.

Recently, Danielle resigned from her 15-year career in tech to pursue a career in real estate full-time and help friends & family find their dream homes. We currently self-manage our local rental properties ourselves and truly enjoy getting to know all of our tenants on a personal level. By believing that a person’s home is at the center of their lives and a place that should bring families and friends together, we love being even a small part of that happiness for our tenants and clients.
