About this property
Cozy Lodge Meets Mid Century Hideaway
Ah where to begin with my cozy hideaway! If you're looking for a quiet & nurturing space to curl up in and be creative, relax after a day of exploring, or work remotely, this is the home for you. The house sits on 2 acres and is surrounded by trees. The upper floor features two bedrooms, both with casper mattresses, a full bath, and thirteen-foot ceilings with two new skylights. The design of the lower level's living space is warm and inviting; a Maine retreat close to all the amenities The Midcoast has to offer.
I am new to VRBO! I am an experienced Superhost on Airbnb, with 100+ glowing reviews of The Hive, a 4.99 score, and The Hive has been officially deemed a "A guest favorite" by the site!
'The Hive' is inspired by Scandinavian and mid century design, with an emphasis on warm colors that highlight the natural elements of the house and keep the focus on the wooded views. The projector+Roku and Sonos speaker transforms the primary bedroom into a private theater. The wifi is Spectrum Ultra and can keep up with whatever you may be working on remotely. The kitchen is stocked with all the appliances and necessities to cook or bake. The views are private and stunning in every season, and the house is a peaceful retreat all through the year!
Other things to note:
The Hive is a strictly 'no shoes' home! The floors are original wood and brick, and do get a little chilly in the colder months. I highly recommend traveling with your own 'house shoes' / slippers to stay cozy! :)
There is an AC in the primary bedroom only. The smaller bedroom upstairs can stay comfortable with a floor fan/the overhead fan. The living space / kitchen is technically a walk-out basement and stays nice and cool through the summer!

About the host
Hosted by Aly

hi! I'm Aly. I'm a professional musician based in Brooklyn, NY, but I'm also a Maine native with a lot of love for my home state and my home, 'The Hive!'
This is the first time I'm putting it up on VRBO to share all it has to offer, which is a lot of peace and comfort. I am an experienced Superhost on Airbnb, with 100+ glowing reviews of The Hive, a 4.99 score, and The Hive has been officially deemed a "A guest favorite" by the site!
I've traveled the world touring for a living and have stayed in more short-term rentals in the last decade than I can count. There's nothing more satisfying than staying in an A+ vacation rental when you’re far from home. The stays that stand out for me are the ones where the host put extra thought and care into making sure I felt comfortable and welcome. I take a lot of pride in my home, and I come to hosting with a lot of experience as a guest. I've taken that experience and attempted to create an environment conducive to inspiration, quiet, creativity, tidiness, and relaxation, while anticipating a person's needs. I'm hopeful my love of my home comes through and any guest who stays feels that extra care and detail. I hope you'll enjoy my little piece of Midcoast Maine! Don't hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have about a future (short term or long term) stay at "The Hive."

Why they chose this property
I love that The Hive is so close to route 1 and route 27 without being on a main road. I love the privacy, the fact that the house is so tucked away, and yet I can be to Red's Lobster in 5 minutes, or strolling down the street in Damariscotta in 10, or to the ocean in 15.
What makes this property unique
The privacy and quiet! The wooded views. The layout of the house. The huge cozy kitchen!
