Characteristic and recently renovated, close to restaurants, cafes, bars, in a local and untouristed area. Located on the top floor of a 19th century building at the edge of the San Frediano neighborhood.
Featuring two bedrooms and two bathrooms, a beautiful large kitchen, a laundry room, spacious living room, new windows with screens, new AC.
Please note there is no elevator. Guests must be able to walk up 4 flights of stairs (4 flights in US terms, 3 flights in European terms).
Special features:
- American-style kitchen that provides plentiful counter and pantry space, which is rare in Florentine apartments.
- Screens on window, also rare to find in Italian apartments.
- The whole apartment was recently renovated.
- The bathrooms are modern and well-appointed.
- The beds are new and high quality.
- A large desk provides excellent working space.
- The boiler is brand new, making heating more efficient.
- The windows are new and double paned.
- There’s a dedicated laundry room instead of the washing machine in the bathroom or kitchen.
- The apartment is on the top floor, which means no noise above you.
- Hills can be viewed from both the front and back windows and the south facing side receives ample light.
The street is full of eateries, bakeries, wine bars, delicatessens, cafes, and there is an Esselunga grocery store a few paces away which allows you to carry groceries only a short distance. Esselunga also delivers to your door if you don’t want to carry groceries.
The Wi-Fi is fiber which makes an important difference. (As a general rule, with the thick walls of many buildings in Florence, ADSL cannot reach through the walls and thus you get Wi-Fi only the room where the modem is, so fiber makes a big difference.)
Please note: There is no elevator. There are about 60 steps. The stairs are not, however, the insanely steep ones found in the city’s medieval buildings.
There is a tram stop 3 blocks away and a bus stop is very near the apartment. The tram comes every few minutes and the bus comes every 8 minutes during business/commute hours. The neighborhood around the apartment is very local, and removed from the crowds in the center, and it contains many amenities only paces away from the apartment.
To walk to the center of the city takes 20 to 25 minutes. To walk to Piazza Santo Spirito in the heart of the Oltrarno is 15 minutes.
Additionally, the hills of Bellosguardo are right behind the apartment-- a pretty place for walks. Also, right across the river is the large Cascine park which is excellent for exercising.
