Vero Beach is situated on Florida’s southeast coast and has pristine beaches and a renowned cultural scene, featuring art galleries, theaters, and the Vero Beach Museum of Art. This small town has a relaxed vibe and boasts a charming blend of historic architecture and modern amenities… all amongst amazing live oak trees. The Atlantic Ocean provides a stunning backdrop for sunrises and evening moonrises and is a dream for outdoor enthusiasts, water sports and wildlife encounters sans the town’s turtle nesting season.
Our favorite thing to do however is cruising around the island on the golf cart. We go to the amazing, non-crowded beaches, eat at the many casual and fancy restaurants, chill with a drink as we listen to the live music, visit the wonderful shops, explore the Saturday green market, play tennis or pickle ball at the Riverside park.
However there’s really no need to even leave the house to have a ball. You can relax in the hot tub (that heats in less than 15 minutes), swim in the heated salt pool, relax on the hammock nestled in the beautiful oak trees, play tiki toss, cornhole or ping-pong. Relax on the front porch rocking chairs as you look out on the oak trees. Get a massage from a local massage therapist right here at home (massage table and names of therapists provided). Grill out in the incredible outdoor kitchen with seating for 8 at the bar. And on cooler nights, have a bonfire under the stars while making s’mores!
Two must-do's while you're here: 1) stroll to the end of the street that dead ends at the Indian River to see the spectacular sunset over the intracoastal, and 2) go see the moonrise in the evening over the ocean with a glass of wine. And as always, if you're an early riser the sunrise on the beach is spectacular.
This vibrant coastal town has a central location which provides access to various enticing activities within driving distance and easy day trips. Explore the renowned Kennedy Space Center for an educational and awe-inspiring experience. Head to Orlando for all the exciting Disney, Universal and Sea World theme parks and water parks. Or spend the day in the eclectic cities of West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami for some great shopping and amazing food.
A book entitled, "50 Reasons to Love Vero Beach" will be at the house for your to read but some of the highlights include the Vero Beach Museum of Art, Riverside Theater, Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge, Summer Crush Vineyards, Walking Tree Brewery, McLarty Treasure Museum, Navy Seal Museum, McKee Botanical Gardens, Round Island, and boat, wave runner, paddleboards and kayak rentals. There's so much right here!
If you want to take a short drive, you can head to the Fort Pierce inlet for killer surfing or to Sebastian Inlet State Park for fishing and a huge sand bar. Visit the charming town of Stuart, known for its historic downtown and vibrant arts scene. Or head to the funky town of Melbourne and visit Saltwater for an unexpected breakfast experience.
