It is fantastic , the sounds of the water helped a lot we all had a wonderful trip swimming, fishing and enjoying family and friends - Thank You!!!!!!!
We really enjoyed our time at this property. Coffee overlooking the lake every morning and fireside over the lake in the evening. It had everything we needed to cook meals and save money cooking "at home." We had our boat for salmon fishing and caught tons of fish, and our kids enjoyed the comfort of home during their Little League State Tournament. We would stay here again!
Thank you for the new grill!!! Wonderful!! Aside from miscommunication upon checkin, the stay was all that we had expected! Petrified springs park is a great day trip!!
Great place! A couple of suggestions might be to put a floor mat at the back door to wipe your feet off so the mulberries aren’t tracked into the house. Another suggestion might be providing sheets that fit the beds.
We were very happy with the house and property. Great location for family coming from Appleton, Milwaukee and Chicago. Fantastic view and backyard for games and the dog to run. House was nice, updated and clean. Kitchen had everything we needed. Enjoyed the firepit in the evening. My husband truly enjoyed his weekend and it was relaxing and comfortable. Thanks!
There was more than adequate unit sold and cookware. The property manager actually offered to set out a gas or charcoal grill. The fireplace in the sunroom was really nice. We never even bothered to turn on a tv. The master shower is extra nice. I will try to stay here on all my Wisconsin trips.

Great fishing in Kenosha!
I enjoyed the week at our house in Kenosha. A few things that could have been better where the refrigerator had an unusual closer system that required you put you shoulder into closing the door. I also thought the steps down to the lake could have been a little improved so your climb to the lake would be safer.
All in all I enjoyed the house and the location.

Long Weekend
View was wonderful
Kitchen had all amenities
I didn't see any mention of the basement, and it is a full basement, with couch, TV, table and chairs , Washer/Dryer and foosball table, so it could be utilized if needed.
Missing bed linens, top sheets and pillow cases
Having to make the beds when we arrived. Sheets were provided but the beds were not made up.
I found drink rings on the tables in the living room when we arrived.
Outside property was in need of some TLC, branches trimmed, weeds pulled
While being directly on the lake was a positive, the inaccessibility of the beach due to the size of the rocks was a disappointment. The only cleared sandy area was the next door neighbors, we walked the dogs over the large rocks that filled this properties' beach area to access that beach and the lake.
A few of the reviews mentioned the busyness of the road the property is on, but it is a major north/south throughway, so we were concerned about pets wandering off, so we had to keep them close at hand.
The Kenosha Retreat was a wonderful place to stay with a friend and our dogs (would be perfect for a large family and/or two families to spend a weekend away). There is a large, unfenced in, backyard that leads to a beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The stairs that lead to the lake are steep and you have to navigate a lot of rocks. However, there are beaches about 10 minutes south that are perfect for to spend the day.
The house was fine for what we needed. Yes, there is a bit of a musty smell, but you get used to it fairly quickly. I recommend bringing bottled water for drinking due to well water. There are plenty of plates, glassware, silverware, pots, pans, and everything you need to make a meal in the kitchen. There is a limit on paper products: napkins, paper towels, toilet paper, and paper plates.
The only thing that I found to be an issue is having to take out the garbage for Friday's pickup. The garbages were completely full from the previous tenant and placing them by the street was a challenge due to the weight, angle of the driveway, and bump to get over. I don't mind putting out my garbage, but taking care of others' trash was annoying. This is what lead to my four star rating.
Overall, the stay was enjoyable. There are plenty of things to do nearby- especially dog friendly places. Enjoy!
The house worked well for us but there was a terrible smell that permeated the front room, bedroom and bathrooms. At first I thought it was pet urine smell as the unit does allow pets. But discovered because it's an older home with a drain in the basement the seal in floor drain pipe had dried up allowing sewer gas to be released which made it's way into the home. After opening the windows it aired out, but the weather turned cold, so we had to shut them and the smell came back.the host responded to my emails but did not resolve nor help discern where the problem was coming from. Though it was a nice unit, the smell made it hard to enjoy it.
We had a wonderful time at this place. The property was well maintained and the kitchen fully stocked with all cooking utensils needed to make meals. My dog had a blast swimming in the lake and the view can't be beat. I wouldn't say it sleeps 8 adults, but would sleep 6 adults and 2 kids easily. Had no issues with the property or the owner. Would happily stay here again.
Our family loved this property. If I could find the same home where I live I would purchase it. We loved the layout of the home and all the features that come with a home that was built at that time--the arched door ways, wood floors, and charming features of the room with the fireplace that took you out to the backyard. We would definitely stay there again!
This house was perfectly located midway between Kenosha and Racine. The lake was beautiful. The highlight of this house was the sunroom with the fireplace. That’s where we spent a lot of time. The house was clean and comfortable. This home is older so it does have an “old house” scent when you walk in that I saw mentioned in other reviews. But nothing a little Lysol or Febreeze won’t fix. We would stay here again!
Nice clean property. Well stocked kitchen for light meal prep. Good location for day trips into Milwaukee and Chicago. We brought our own blankets and were glad to have them.
The house and property were absolutely charming! The beds in the master and one of the other bedrooms had been changed to queen from full which was nice and the other room had a bunkbed also! These upgrades were definitely appreciated for our family of 7. The kitchen was stocked with needed equipment and a grocery store was nearby making cooking at home a breeze. The yard was great for the kids to play in, the beach is down a steep walkway, but is gorgeous and the view truly made the property. If we would have come in the winter I would have needed to pack extra bedding as what was there had not been upgraded to the newer size beds and did not fit well. Also, there is no privacy - sound travels in this house! Overall we loved this property and it will be looked for first when staying in this area again.
Enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Kenosha retreat. Property is very clean and has a large back yard over looking the lake with direct access to the rock beach.
