PROPERTY DESCRIPTION: Greenhaven is light-filled, lower-ground floor apartment with private gated entrance that part of a listed (historically-recognized) 19th century townhouse opposite the 2.5 acre private garden of Eccleston Square. The apartment is newly refurbished with a mix of contemporary and antique décor. Sixteen foot high ceilings and large windows in the main living/dining area contribute to its very open, light and airy feel. There is also a small patio off the front entrance that's perfect for to enjoy a morning coffee or tea.
SLEEPS UP TO 5 PEOPLE. BEDS (4) & SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS: There is a UK-double bed (4.4 x 6.2 feet) in the first bedroom. a UK-single bed (2.95 x 6.23 feet) in the second bedroom, and a UK king sofa bed (5.9 x 6.5 feet) in the living. The sofa bed can also serve as single bed for those to prefer not to open and close a sofa bed. UNIQUE SLUMBER SPACE & EXPERIENCE. The single bedroom was once a 19th century coal vault which stored the fuel used to cook food, boil water and heat the 5-story townhouse.

A highly desirable place to both to live and visit, Eccleston Square -- a collection of beautiful 19th century townhouses built around a 2.5 acre garden square -- dates to the 1830s. This is a well appointed charming flat in a great location. The host was excellent, and provided many thoughtful details to ensure a comfortable stay. The decor is warm and inviting, beds very comfortable, and an upscale kitchen. This was walking distance to cute shopping and restaurants, as well as Victoria Station.
The flat was adequate for our visit to London, we were close to underground, this was highly beneficial. Visit ruined by someone entering the flat before checkout time, my wife was in the bathroom and I only had a T shirt on as we were getting ready to leave. We are in our 60s, so this was frightening. There is no deadbolt or any other means to secure the door.

This 2/10 rating is extremely uncommon for our apartment, as our hundreds of 5-star reviews confirm. Unfortunately, our cleaner mistakenly came 20 minutes early (before the check out time) and disturbed the guests. Before this event happened the guests expressed delight in the apartment and interest in returning for another stay in the summer. As such, along with my sincere apologies, I extended a $150.00 credit towards their next stay for the the surprise and inconvenience of the erroneous early entry. Please note, the apartment has two barriers to entry: 1. a private gated entrance (which these guests chose NOT to lock) and 2. a secure digital lock on the front door. We'll will consider the use of a deadbolt if such hardware does not compromise the building cooperative's fire safety access rules.
Very comfortable apartment, excellent communications with Paula and ability to drop off our bags early. Really a lovely place in a great location. We had a wonderful time!

Guests can drop off bags anytime after 10 a.m. and come back at or after 3 p.m. when the apartment is fully cleaned and stocked. Earlier access (before 10 a.m.) may even be available if their are no guests checking out the day of your arrival.
Everything was perfect. Such a good location, easy to find, easy to access. We loved staying at the apartment. Paula was a super host, communication was excellent. We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 15 & 16 year olds) it was a tight pack but still space to move around. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely stay again. Thank you Paula for everything.

The apartment is 650 square feet with two bedrooms and one bath. Many guests with families of 4 or 5 members feel it's a good deal, considering that it's a luxury property with a fantastic location and a rate that's very competitive.
So much to say about this trip! Our host, Paula, was so welcoming and SO helpful at every turn. Paula took all the anxiety out of the trip for sure! You won’t find a better equipped, more centrally located apartment in London! The kitchen was very well stocked with tea and coffee and all the accessories you need to cook a meal if you choose. Comfortable beds and plenty of linens for the bathroom. Lovely bath products also supplied. Extra bonus with washer and dryer. The neighborhood is lovely and easy to get around with many great restaurants within short walking distance.

Regarding the guest's comment on the convenience of having BOTH a washer and dryer in our apartment. Many UK apartments may have a washing machine but not a dryer. (It's common to use drying racks to hang damp items on to dry.) So if you need both a washer and dryer during your stay, make sure inquire when you're choosing a property if both are included.
Great location (7-10 mins walk from Victoria Station/Underground)! Safe neighborhood, unit was exactly as noted in the photos, super comfortable beds, extras (snacks, requested beverages, etc.) and a super responsive host. I struggle a little with anxiety, so the numerous instructions/notes (4 in the bathroom, 2 by the AC control) was slightly disconcerting to me, but it didn’t damper my visit by too much). We enjoyed staying there very much!

The apartment's location is perfect for touring the major sites in and outside London, as this guest confirms. The location is so convenient with easy access all transport. The bus stop is a 5-minute walk, trains and Underground at victoria station a 10 minute walk. If you like to travel out of town during your stay, such as to Windsor Castle, Oxford or Bath, the Coach station is a 5- minute walk. Plus the apartment is located in an upscale and safe neighborhood.
We loved staying here! The host was fabulous and was very accommodating when we needed to check in early (much appreciated!). The beds were comfortable and had plenty of linens and pillows. Super clean and stylish unit, we appreciated the snacks and coffee supplies. The private park is an added bonus, it’s stunning!
I can't say enough good things about this location! It is a charming, beautifully maintained flat perfectly situated for exploring London. You are close to the tube and rail but situated in a lovely area with access to your own park. The beds are comfortable, the wifi is terrific, and the flat is incredibly quiet at night. Best of all, your hosts have anticipated literally every need that might occur. This flat is lacking for nothing! Although my husband and I are new to Vrbo, we have stayed at many other rental units and this is among the very best we have ever encountered. Wish every place could be so good.

We loved our stay, the home was perfect for our family of 3 with our 12yo daughter. She loved the small room with daybed and didn’t want to leave. The location was amazing with the train station so close and so many pubs, restaurants, coffee shops nearby. There was no way we could explore it all in our 8 days. The rental was amazingly stocked with anything you could want. We were very comfortable there and felt like home. The private garden was lovely.
We enjoyed our time at Greenhaven in the Eccleston Square Garden area very much and would look forward to another stay when we are in London. The accommodation and location were exactly what we needed to enjoy our first London experience.

When searching for a property to live in, I wanted the best aspects of London at my doorstep: proximity to major sites, transportation, shopping, dining, culture and entertainment, and an upscale neighborhood with a traditional English feel. I found it in Greenhaven. An added bonus: Eccleston Square, an award-winning private garden, right is outside my front door in one of London's best areas.
From the outside of Greenhaven, the view is similar to the garden featured in the popular film Notting Hill. You see the upper branches of trees, swirls of clematis, heady explosions of climbing roses and, here and there. When you hear the birds sing in this wonderful in-town oasis, London seems to disappear -- yet all of its wonderful sights, sounds, tastes and experiences are right outside the garden gates.
Eccleston Square came about when town planner Thomas Cubitt, who developed it in 1845, had the idea of gathering everyone's back gardens together. Around the periphery, a shady walk winds though arches of wisteria and clematis. Garden buffs appreciate several unique specimen plants, including a handkerchief tree from China -- and art buffs enjoy the irises, some of which came from Monet's garden in Giverny, France. The Garden Square has won many awards not only for its botanical beauty, but also for its well-integrated features, such as several brick patios, glass conservatory, tennis court, and play and BBQ areas.
