The apartment was magnificent, clean and in the perfect location, a short walk to everything. The views from the terrace were spectacular. Our host Maristella was so kind, generous and welcoming. She had a feast waiting for us when we arrived and she prepared dinner 2 nights. We thank you for making us feel at home. We fell in love with Florence and the apartment. If you don’t mind a climb to your from door then I would thoroughly recommend you stay here.
Beautiful property. Views to die for. Yes, a lot of stairs, but so worth it. Nothing makes this place more charming than your neighbor and host, Stella. We've never had anyone go to the lengths she did to make our stay great -- even homemade marinara sauce, wine and pastries. She is so knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Thumbs WAY UP for this beautiful, quiet apartment with amazing roof top views, in the middle of everything! Thanks Stella!
Lovely apartment in one of the best locations you could find in Florence. Very central to the best sites, restaurants and shopping but a haven on the top floor away from the crowds. Air conditioned and very comfortable in summer temperatures with all conveniences catered for. The highlight are the two roof terraces with incredible views of the Duomo, Florence and the surrounding hills and countryside. Aside from the property the other highlight here is the lovely host, Stella, who could not do enough for us including cooking us a home cooked meal one evening and taking us out for breakfast on another occasion. All-in-all, staying in Florence at another location would be a significant step down from this and I would only come back here.
This has been the most difficult review I have ever had to write because there are no words that could truly express our gratitude and appreciation for the best Vrbo experience my family and I have ever had!
In all our numerous encounters with hosts throughout our travels, Stella, you have been the most gracious, warm, welcoming, caring and helpful host ever … all her recommendations, advice, suggestions and additional information, too, made our vacation such a huge success and even more so memorable than we thought possible! Stella, you are the newest member of our family - we already miss you so greatly!
As for the apartment, it too was perfect - it was more spacious than expected and had absolutely everything you should need or wish for. It was spotlessly clean, very tastefully and so beautifully decorated as well. Reading previous visitors reviews to Stella’s wonderful home, we too agree that the views are to die for and the location could not have been more convenient but that all said, for us and once again …
The best part of our stay was meeting beautiful Stella - our friend for life! My family and I rate both Stella and her home 5 stars and our highest recommendation, all the way!
We had a wonderful vacation in Florence, the apartment is even more beautiful and cozier in person. The views from the terraces are breathtaking. Thank you, Stella, for your hospitality and generosity!
Let me start with the negatives. The apartment is located on an upper floor so you must walk up 123 steps. Yep, we counted all 123 of them. That's it, the only negative.
I could write all day about the positives. The host, Maristella, is an absolute angel of a lady. The apartment is in a very old building located close to the Duomo. The decor is warm and inviting and the place had a lived-in feel in the best of ways. The apartment is large enough for my family of five which includes three adult children. The master had its own bath which contained a washing machine, a huge plus. On to the star of the show...
The terrace on the top of the apartment was the best place we sat during our entire 16-day Italian vacation. The views were phenomenal. You can see the entire city and the stunning surrounding hills. It provides a true 360 degree view. The Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore is only a block away. Each night, my family went onto the terrace to enjoy local wines and watch the sun set. I can't imagine a more beautiful, peaceful setting in Florence. All of the history, culture, and elegance of the city is captured from that terrace. The apartment has another patio on the level below which was also great but was no match for the top-level terrace.
If you can live with the 123 steps, book this apartment. It is located in the heart of the city, is completely charming, has a tremendous view, and the host is a lovely lady. We will return. Five Stars!
We loved staying at this Flat in Florence. Our family of 5 (3 teenagers) all throughly enjoyed this flat and highly recommend staying here! Stella welcomed us and we felt at home immediately. She had lots of recommendations for us while in Florence, and shared tips and advice on all Florence has to offer, along with getting us a ride back to the train station. Stella had a pesto dinner waiting for us after our long day trip to surrounding cities, that we ate on the terrace -with an incredible view of the duomo. An unbelievable place to stay while in Florence. I've been to Florence 2 times before, but this is my favorite place to stay by far, thanks to Stella's hospitality and the amazing flat and it's location and views! We already want to come back and stay again....we'll be back Stella! thanks so very much for all you did to make our vacation so special!
Thank you, Stella, for providing our home away from home in Florence! The apartment is so comfortable and clean, quiet and so close to everything. It was wonderful having you next door and running into you from time to time. Thank you so very much for the delicious pesto and bread - we had a nice dinner home one evening. We loved your recommendations for dinner - the Yellow Bar downstairs, although not a traditional interior, had top-notch pastas and pizzas. The stairs were not a problem for us but future guests should definitely be aware - I think it was 126 steps up if I counted correctly. So worth it for the views! Having the outdoor areas was so very special. Again, Stella, thank you for your hospitality. We won't hesitate to recommend your apartment to anyone heading to Florence.
The apartment is comfortable and cozy, a short walk from everything. It was so relaxing to sit on the 2 different roof top patios in the evening and enjoy the views. Our host was so personable and helpful, this is the best place to stay if you visit Florence!
Our stay was wonderful! Our host Stella went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The views from the apartment windows and terraces is so worth the walk up. Impeccably clean, well supplied and the perfect location to navigate the city.
This apartment was perfect for our family of five. The location is so convenient and within walking distance to all major sites, the train station, and too many delicious bakeries, gelato shops and restaurants to count. It was very clean and fully stocked. The hostess, Maristella, is amazing and welcomed us with fresh pesto, wine, fruit, and cookies. She provided restaurant recommendations, suggestions for sightseeing, and a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy on the terrace for sunset. Our favorite part was the upper terrace, which provides an unbeatable 360 degree view of Florence, along with the gorgeous views of the Duomo from every window. It was truly a dream!
Maristella was so thoughtful and such a wonderful person to work with. She decorated our place for Christmas, presented us with many gifts including multiple Christmas cakes and wine. The location of the place is absolutely first class, there is none better. There is however 60 or so steps up to the apartment, no elevator. Perhaps the most perfect part of the whole place are the multiple decks which give you a phenomenal view of Fiorenze, especially at night!
This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience! Unbelievable views, very clean & comfortable, excellent location, and a very helpful host. If you can handle stairs, you will be thrilled with this apartment.
The apartment is spacious and quiet. The patio is quite an experience, set between the Duomo and Palazzo Vecchio, plenty of opportunity to hear church bells. Stella, the manager, is a charming lady who goes out of her way to accommodate in any way she can. This was my second visit. The first time was seven years ago, and it was just as enjoyable the second time as it was initially.
Other positive reviews are spot-on. This property is simply amazing, as is the wonderful host, Maristella. She welcomed us as family, left us wonderful food and snacks, and shared great tips with us. Later, when we saw her on the street we felt all the more authentically Florentian having met our new friend!
Our family of 5 loved this charming and comfortable property where not a thing was missing or needed. Everyone had plenty of space to relax.
The multiple balconies are simply amazing, as are the views. We ate and relaxed with games, aperitifs, and nightcaps regularly, with the Duomo and other historic buildings just steps away.
This is a prime location and I cannot imagine any better place. There are a number of stairs to climb, but the views make it more than worth it and it’s a great way to work off the marvelous food and wine in Florence.
Grazie mille, Maristella!! We look forward to seeing you again in Florence or the US!
My family of 5 (kids- 20,18, 16) loved our rental. It was spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated in a Tuscan feel. The location is great with views of the Duomo from the windows and a spectacular view of the Duomo as well as all of Florence from the roof top terrace. We felt that this terrace on the roof top must have one of the best 360 views of Florence. The property manager was so lovely, she met us when we arrived and was incredibly hospitable. I can't say enough about her. I would definitely stay here again when in Florence. The property is on a top floor, but the stairs to get up are wide and it was not a hardship at all using them. If fact the the stairwell is quite beautiful with large landings, marble and beautiful windows. I highly recommend this rental!
As all reviews state, Maristella is a wonderful and helpful host. She welcomed us on a very hot day in July with cold water and a nicely cooled apartment. The apartment is very cute- great master suite that gets very dark, which is great in the mornings. The other two bedrooms are smaller and worked perfectly for each of my daughter to get her own room. Thx terraces are fantastic and we enjoyed them at night because it was too hot during the day unfortunately.
There is a washing machine which worked well and a drying clothesline on one of the terraces. Clothes dried in an instant up there which was great.
Kitchen was nicely stocked and we were also given a welcome pasta kit of homemade marinara and fusilli and some cookies for my girls. We were so impressed and knew we picked the right place. Location was fantastic and Maristella shared her local favorite restaurants which we enjoyed greatly. She helped us get a taxi when we left and also helped with some medicine when my daughter had a sore throat. She truly is a wonderful host who loves her city and made our stay wonderful.
Our family vacationed over Easter week in Maristella's home. The photos do not do it justice. If my family could live in her home, we would! This is no ordinary apartment. With multiple terraces, my teen daughters read books on the rooftop, and played cards in the homey indoor living spaces when it rained. The bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice too. We walked to the local market and utilized the outdoor grill for dining al fresco multiple nights while listening to Pavarotti by street performers down below. No matter the weather, the views of the Duomo and surroundings make this stay spectacular. Maristella is the perfect host, and even went out of her way to mail us a pearl earring my daughter left behind! My family will stay here again and again. (Note: pack lightly, and make sure your children can carry their own bags to the top floor - it's a workout = but well worth it!)
A special property with an amazing host in a great location.
Great location in the heart of Florence with quick access to shopping, tourist attractions and restaurants. A unique special property with great views a home away from home. Stella is an amazing host who is quick to respond and full of suggestions.
Our family of 6 recently traveled to Florence and stayed here. The house was exactly as described. It did include lots of steps (106) to get to the apartment. We were greeted by Stella, property manager, who was amazing. She was responsive, kind, and helpful with recommendations. She even gave us some pasta with fresh pesto that we enjoyed while watching the sunset. The apartment included all we needed for our time there as we were out and about from morning till night. The location was great and so convenient. We would recommend this property. We now love Florence!
The pictures of this place do not do it justice, the views are incredible. We had a wonderful visit with my 72 year old parents and 2 kids in their twenties. Crackers and cheese every night on the terrace overlooking the Duomo, close walk to the coffee shop and restaurant's all around. Close to all of the sites, nothing is more than a 15 minute walk and the Duomo is less than 5, Stella was so accommodating, helping us with every detail and providing us with her delicious pesto. It is an amazing place even with their stairs, although my mom did ride the newly installed lift chair and that was helpful for her. We climbed the stairs several times and took all of our luggage up without a problem. I promise you won't be disappointed.
This is a very special place with 2 unbelievable terraces with breathtaking, panoramic views of Florence, one of them with flowers and plants. Located a 3 minute walk away from the Duomo and no more than a 20 minute walk to any place in the city worth seeing, the apartment offers 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, a cozy living room, a dining area and a tiny kitchen. To get there you’ll have to climb 125 steps, which we did many times a day. The property is managed by Stella who lives just below, and is one of the most charming and helpful hosts I have ever met. Our family of four (myself and my husband and our sons, 22 and 25) stayed in the aparment for 9 glorious days and had a fabulous time.
