Great location: Quiet and peaceful

This cabin was great for our family. We all loved being on the river. There were two elk that hung out near our cabin. The cleaning crew did not clean before our stay, at no fault of the host. When we notified the host, they were quick to respond and had it cleaned quickly for us. Great host and great stay!

All in all the stay was good. Minor things like coffee pot and dvd The bed in second bedroom is difficult for older folks to get in and out of. Loved being by river and it was close to Estes Park and RMNP. Appliances worked well Host responded to questions promptly.

Perfect location

It was a very nice cabin right on the river. Being unfamiliar with the area, I did think that the house was going to be more remote than it actually was, and you can’t really see the river while sitting inside the house. (Both of these things the owner obviously cannot control). We did have some elk come into the yard and saw an otter while playing in the river, which was awesome! Overall a nice house and convenient to Estes Park and RMNP.

Had a great time.

Had a wonderful time. Beds slept great. Living room furniture needs a deep cleaning for a more fresh smell. Had to purchase a new coffee maker. One in the cabin is not the one pictured in the listing. This place is located in a woody area, but could use an outdoor refreshing, lots of debris on porch. Bathrooms were very clean and smelled very clean upon arrival. Owners were great to work with.

Enjoyed our escape to Estes

We had an absolutely wonderful and cozy stay! Great communication. Great accommodations. Great location. The kitchen was stocked with all necessities for cooking. The views are great and the home rests in a very peaceful setting. I loved sitting on the deck (and next to the open windows in the LR) to hear the sounds of the water.

Love the sound of the rushing river!

The host was an excellent communicator, and even volunteered to connect us with a fishing guide. The multi-level property is built into a hill right above the Big Thompson River, and there are stairs down to the river where you can fish for rainbow and brown trout from their property. Well equipped and nicely furnished.

Nice house, no AC

Love the location and river access. The property itself is commensurate with the cost. Our kids enjoyed the property also. Everything was in working order. Only complaint would be that we booked bc the listing said Air Conditioning. There was no AC. That was our main reason for booking. And initially the host was very responsive but never did get replies back for our early check-in or AC question (upon arrival).

Property was nice and clean inside. Exterior of the property was in need of some general maintenance. Property manager assured me she would address this. Everything worked as expected. It’s advertised as 3 bedrooms and although it does have 3 separate sleeping areas one of the areas is not at all private and is actually a bed placed in a breakfast nook. The location is perfect. Over all I was happy with the stay and it was a nice experience.

Property was wonderful. It was located outside of town, so was extremely peaceful. It was maintained great and we never found a moment where we were needing anything. Owners were responsive. Cell phone service was hit and miss, but thats exactly what we were looking for. Very unique property, and we had our best fishing days right in front of the cabin!

Meet Your Hosts: Danielle & Ben Witte

Hi, we’re Danielle and Ben Witte—Colorado natives with a lifelong love for the mountains. We grew up skiing fresh powder, hiking alpine trails, and camping under the stars. For both of us, Estes Park has always been a place of magic and meaning. It’s where some of our best childhood memories were made, and today, it’s where we continue to reconnect as a family.

We’re passionate about the outdoors and everything Colorado has to offer. Whether it’s casting a fly into a quiet stretch of river, watching wildlife at sunrise, or sharing stories around a campfire, we believe life is simply better in the mountains. Estes Park is a place that grounds you—it helps you breathe deeper, sleep better, and truly slow down.

This cabin is more than just a vacation rental—it’s a part of our story. We designed and built it with care and intention, hoping it would become a space where others can create lasting memories, just like we have.

We’re honored to share this peaceful mountain retreat with you. Whether it's your first time visiting Estes Park or you’re returning to a familiar favorite, we hope this place feels like home—and leaves you feeling rested, reconnected, and inspired.

Welcome to the mountains. We’re so glad you’re here.

Why they chose this property

Why We Chose This Location

We chose this neighborhood because it captures everything we love about mountain living—peaceful surroundings, stunning natural beauty, and a slower, more intentional pace that feels increasingly rare in today’s fast-moving world.

For years, we traveled to the mountains with our family, always searching for a place that felt like more than just a getaway. We wanted somewhere with breathtaking views, yes—but also a sense of belonging. The first time we visited this area, we knew we’d found it. The sound of the wind in the trees, the way sunlight dances across the peaks, the calm stillness of the river—it grounded us. We breathed deeper, laughed more, and reconnected with what truly matters.

What makes this neighborhood special isn’t just the location—though you are minutes from scenic trails, alpine lakes, and iconic mountain views. It’s the feeling you get when you’re here. Neighbors wave. Kids play outside. Evenings are filled with stories, campfires, and skies full of stars. It’s a place that invites connection and brings you back to simpler times.

This is a community that welcomes you to unplug, slow down, and focus on what matters most. Whether you're here for outdoor adventure or quiet rest, this setting makes it easy to do both—and to create lasting memories along the way.

We feel incredibly lucky to call this place part of our story, and we’re grateful to share it with guests like you.

What makes this property unique

What Makes Our Cabin Unique? The View—And the Feeling It Brings

What truly sets our Estes Park cabin apart is the view—not just its beauty, but how it makes you feel. Nestled right along the Big Thompson River, the cabin offers a front-row seat to Colorado’s natural splendor in every season. Nearly every window frames a postcard-perfect scene: rushing water, towering pines, and snow-dusted peaks on the horizon.

In summer, the spacious deck becomes the heart of the home. Wildflowers bloom, the river flows just steps away, and the mountain air feels fresh and grounding. It’s the perfect place to sip your morning coffee or unwind at sunset with a glass of wine. You might spot hummingbirds at the feeders or hear elk calling in the distance—gentle reminders that you’re truly immersed in nature.

In winter, the landscape turns into a quiet, snow-covered wonderland. Whether you’re curled up by the fireplace or watching snowflakes drift past the Great Room’s tall windows, it feels like living inside a snow globe. There's a stillness here that invites reflection and rest.

Each season brings something special:

Spring brings vibrant greens and rushing rivers fed by mountain snowmelt.

Summer offers wildflowers, wildlife, and long evenings by the water.

Fall transforms the mountains into a canvas of golden aspens and crisp air.

Winter wraps everything in peaceful silence and snow-draped beauty.

This cabin isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place to feel. A true mountain escape where you can slow down, reconnect, and rediscover what matters most. The view may draw you in, but it’s the sense of peace and presence you’ll remember long after you leave.
