Loved that this house was located in such a peaceful, remote area.

The house is beautifully decorated and easy to house 6 couples and a few children! Most bathrooms, especially the master are very old and in need of a renovation. Pictures on VRBO are mostly accurate but some make you think the house is much larger than it really is. Kitchen is well equipped and easy to cook in for larger numbers.

Beautiful Views

The view was beautiful. The house was nice and large with comfortable beds. Only issues were spiders on the bottom level but that is the basement level. We were confronted by a man informing us we could not kayak in the lake so we were not able to enjoy the water. Unsure why we were not told we couldn't do that prior to trip.

Beautiful home

The house was amazing, but the drive to it and the driveway were difficult. There was a lot of snow and although they said crews would be plowing the snow on both the roads and driveway everyday that didn’t happen. We got stuck with snow chains.

The location of this home was perfect for our Colorado Jeep trip. We stayed at this home in the mountains and then did Jeep trails nearby. We loved having a bathroom for each bedroom!

Perfect winter retreat home by the lake

The house was great. We spend there with family and friends a long February weekend. It was perfect. Warm, clean, well-equipped in the kitchen, large dining table. Everything was exactly as advertised. I would definitely book it again. Especially by the lake in the summer.

Great place for friend reunion!

This place was better than expected from the pictures and prior reviews. It is HUGE and has lots of extras. Great for kids, with some toys and coloring supplies. The kitchen is very well equipped, one of the best short-term rental kitchens I've found. Also, a beautiful and private location in the snowy mountains north of Durango.

Wonderful property for large groups!

This was the perfect property for four families. The kitchen was huge, there were plenty of bedrooms/bathrooms, and fantastic views from every room in the house. This house is about a 35 minute drive to Durango, and about a 5 minute drive to Purgatory. And, there's a separate suite downstairs for kids with bunk beds, a hot tub, and a game room. The only complaints (and they are extremely minor) are that there are no steak knives, and there is only one large television on the main floor. There is also a separate freezer in the garage that should not be used/opened (it has not been emptied for a long time).

Perfect Place

We we very impressed with this property. We had a family of 15 and everyone loved the accommodations. The location was easily accessible and had gorgeous views with a cute little restaurant bar hang out across the street. Their was a lot of wildlife adding to a wonderful experience in Colorado! We will be back for sure.

Our group had just completed the Race Across the West. Trappers was the perfect spot to rest, celebrate and recover. Size of the property made it perfect for 6 couples and all of our equipment and vehicles. Spectacular views and cool summer temps at that elev made it very enjoyable

Plenty of room for 12 adults and 5 children, it was nice and clean, comfy beds and the lake was nice. Could use a little TLC. All in all it was nice.

Erroneous Facts in VRBO

We had 14 people that occupied VRBO 387469 from Sept 8, 2015 to Sept 11, 2015. We have been renting property using VRBO for 20 years and have always found the information to be correct. In this case, though, the VRBO listing showed 7 bedrooms and 7 Bathrooms on the front page and also showed the individual bedroom/bathroom listing with a bath for each bedroom. Upon arriving we looked desperately for the 7th bath. It was not to be as there were only 6 baths. This was obviously a huge inconvenience as 2 couples had to share one bath. We asked for a credit and were denied. When dealing with this rental agency, be careful.
