Wonderful Stay

I can't recommend this rental enough. I booked it for the month of May for Fordham University's graduation. I was able to extend my stay by 3 days at the front end and 2 days at the back end with short notice. The house was extremely clean. There were plenty of linens available, and the kitchen was well-stocked with supplies. There was an abundance of storage room including in the bedrooms and bathroom. All appliances were basically new and in excellent working order. The furniture was comfortable and would easily accommodate 3 people. The rental really felt like mine while I was there rather than someone's place that I was renting. Communication with the property manager was super speedy and polite. Entrance and exit were simple. I had a small pup with me, and it was perfect for the both of us. People on City Island were extremely friendly. The abundance of restaurants was staggering, and each one I tried was excellent. Last note: if you're a Fordham parent (with your own vehicle) this is a perfect spot to rent. It's about 5 miles from campus and takes about 20-25 minutes to travel to and from.

The pictures were accurate. The location is good. The size is nice for two people. We wish there was another comfortable chair in the living room. There was not a hard copy of directions and expectations for the VRBO. The electronic directions were hard to find. There was no toaster or blow dryer. They need new kitchen towels and bathroom hand towels. One of the kitchen towels had holes and burn marks on it. We had to fix the tea kettle because it was breaking. The kitchen pots were nice, but you needed pot holders to hold the pots or you would burn your hands. When we went to wash the floors there was only a mop, no bucket. The air conditioner in the second bedroom broke and leaked water all over our suitcase and medicine. When we contacted the owner, she acted like it was our fault. The repairman said the unit had not been serviced and the drain line was clogged. The owner did send pastries as an apology. We would have preferred a discount on the rental price. When we wrote a thank you for the pastries we got no response. It would have been nice to have had two chairs to sit on outside.
