The holiday of a lifetime is waiting for you.....on Nottaway Island, Clear Lake. Located only 15 minutes north of Huntsville, a short boat ride about 200 metres and you are on your own private island.

Follow the sun from deck to deck around the island. The day begins on the main dock with coffee and the reflection of a perfect sunrise on the calm waters of Clear Lake......next stop is light house point at the north end of the island, where the sun shines all day long. If you are looking for a little exercise after lunch then a stroll along the path to the south end where you can wade into the crystal clear waters of the lake. Finally back to the cottage for sun-downers on the main deck and enjoy a spectacular view of the lake as another perfect day comes to an end on Nottaway Island.

This open concept two bedroom, two bathroom cottage has all the comforts of home yet has the feeling of being away from it all. The third bedroom, which is located in the Bunkie, overlooks the lake and is a short stroll from the main cottage. It affords quiet privacy for couples or a hangout for boisterous teens.

The well equipped kitchen has all the amenities needed to prepare a gourmet meal . A large double grill propane BBQ is waiting for you.....just add your steaks and grilled vegies and you are 'good to go'. Dining on the front deck surrounded by mature pines, birch, maples and 180 degree view will transform your dining experience.

No cottage holiday is complete without a nightly bonfire. Just steps away from the deck is a large fire pit and Muskoka chairs to enjoy the fading light of the day and a perfectly toasted marshmallow.

Perfect vacation!

We were pleasantly surprised by this fantastic cottage. They really thought of everything from the watersports equipment to the separate lake-facing bedroom Bunkie to the multiple decks/docks from which to enjoy the view/fishing/swimming. We enjoyed meals outdoors and nightly campfires. Even one day when the weather was not great there was plenty of games provided indoors to entertain us. The location was ideal enough to drive out to Huntsville, enjoy a hike at Brook's Falls, and check out the local chocolate and toy shops. Our whole family had a peaceful, relaxing getaway!

They have thought of everything. The property is very well maintained. The beds were comfortable and we really could not hope for more. Other than the usual mosquitos it was perfect.

Nottaway Island has everything you would need. Great fishing, swimming, jumping off the docks, kayaking, canoeing, and boating are just a few to mention. Sue and Craig think of all the little touches like the welcome basket which included treats with our toy poodles name on it! When do you get the chance to rent your very own island with beautiful views of the lake out of every window! Our poodle loves to run free and we love the lack of mosquitos. Thanks again for a wonderful holiday.

Great Vacation! What a tranquil place..

The cottage and Island are beautiful. Everything is provided! We just brought along our fishing gear and some good books and we were all set to enjoy this lovely spot.

Fantastic Island Getaway!

My wife & I had an amazing week on Nottaway Island! It truly is an island paradise! We loved the privacy that the island provided & it allowed us to get some much needed rest and relaxation. The island itself was perfect, from taking a short stroll to one end was like taking a walk in the woods, while going the other way led you to lighthouse point where you could just chill out on the waterfront deck, dip your toes into the water or just sit back with a good cup of morning joe & take in the scenery. Catching the morning sunrise from the dock or sunset from the cottage deck are not to be missed! The cottage, was perfect! Very comfortable, welcoming with that home away from home feel. We spent out our days, reading, relaxing, swimming, bbq'ing and of course fishing! The "Big" one unfortunately eluded me. We also, enjoyed the company of some good friends for a few days as well! Oh one thing I really loved, was waking to the sound of the birds in the morning and the loons in the evening! Sue & Craig are a warm & friendly couple who go out of their way to make sure everything is perfect for their guests stay! We are lucky & happy that they have decided to share their island paradise! We highly recommend them and their island cottage! You will not regret it! Thank you Sue & Craig for sharing your cottage with us. Clean and cozy cottage on an Island

Sue and Craig warmly greeted us as we arrived for some early fall relaxing. We were treated to a clean and comfortable cottage with all the amenities needed for gourmet meals and pure relaxation. Fires at night and days by the dock and on the water was a perfect recharge before the fall and winter.

Relaxed Island Living With All Comforts Of Home

Thank you Sue & Craig for a fabulous week in your cottage on Nottoway Island, Clear Lake, Ontario. The cottage and Bunkie were lovely. We enjoyed beautiful views of the lake from both sun decks, the dock and various lakeside sitting areas, while at the same time enjoying privacy provided by the trees and being on our own island. The cottage and Bunkie were clean and comfortable and equipped with everything we could possibly need. You literally thought of everything in your efforts to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Much fishing took place from your pier, although the elusive Big Kahuna remained uncaught despite Hippy’s very best efforts. Thank you again. Robert & Sharon Smith (Aug.-Sept. 2015)

Awesome!

Your very own private island retreat with everything you could imagine needing. Minimal bugs and awesome fishing for bass right off the docks! Sue and Craig personally met us at the mainland and helped us over to the island with our bags to show us around. Our toy poodle thought he'd gone to heaven being able to run free all week. Would highly recommend this island cottage for a family vacation.

Private..yet close to everything

Our family has rented several cottages over the past few years and we've never come across one as unique and beautiful as Nottaway Island. It was a unique experience having so much water front and space without a "neighbouring cottage". At the same time, we felt close enough to the other cottages on the lake to feel as if we were a part of the community. Our kids and dog loved being able to walk, swim, and paddle around our own private island. The cottage itself had everything a family of 4 could possibly need. Nottaway Island cottage is definitely a first class rental property and the owners, Sue and Craig, are extremely thoughtful and kind people. I would certainly recommend Nottaway Island to my family and friends.

Oasis on Clear Lake

We love the get together with our kids, their partners and the grandchildren - this year we chose Nottaway Island as we could use our boat to enjoy some amazing summer fun. The dock area was perfect especially with the swim platform. Our young grandkids entertained us all to watch them swim, fish and go tubing while we watched from the comfortable dock lounge area- We ate almost every meal outside on the front deck while the sun began to set and lounged out back on the hammock or the back lounge which was super cozy. Having two bathrooms worked well with the number of people and we all had tranquil nights in our comfy beds with soft linens and snuggly pillows. I would recommend this place to families that want to have a private and secure place to enjoy each others company. In our opinion it is one the nicest places we have stayed and the owners are attentive to their guests needs. Jack and Colette B.

Relaxing Getaway on a Beautiful Island

We just spent a week at Nottaway Island and the setting is beautiful! It was all we expected and more!! Lovely Cottage with nice comfy bedding and a well appointed kitchen. I loved all the areas to sit outside....plenty of chairs. The dock is the area where we lounged the most! Nice area with lots of fish. Bunkie is a comfy place to sleep. Boating is fun and the boat is new and reliable with a very short trip to the mainland. Overall it was an ideal holiday for my husband and I. We plan to return next year. K&A Steip

A peaceful and well-run cottage!

My family and I stayed here last year for a week and absolutely loved it. We had our own private, quiet and very comfortable cottage right on Clear Lake. We were able to experience the real beauty of nature. Sitting and fishing on the dock, laying out on the dock and tanning, BBQ-ing food and just getting away from it all. I especially was very pleased with the owners. They really bend over backwards with accommodating you and making you feel like it's your own. They keep it very tidy and clean, but most importantly cozy. They were able to bring in a very "homey" feel to the cottage. I will definitely be coming up next year! Can't wait :) it's a home away from home.

We are avid outdoor enthusiasts who were drawn to Clear Lake for many reasons. The calm morning waters are perfect for a slalom ski through the 'course' or a free ski after dinner just before the sun sets. Our summer sport is skiing and the lake affords endless opportunities to enjoy and share this passion.

Why they chose this property

How did we decide to purchase Nottaway Island....it was love at first sight.....confirmed by our walk along the trail which runs the full length of island. The mature trees and undergrowth of ferns felt like we were literally wrapped up in the arms of the island. I would even go as far to say that 'the island' chose us and not the other way around. It is a truly unique and special place for all those who have spent time there.

What makes this property unique

It's hard to choose just one unique feature of this property but certainly being an 'island' qualifies Nottaway as unique. You are surrounded by water and yet only a stone's throw to the mainland. Privacy and convenience in an island property with all the comforts of home.....a diamond in the rough for sure.
