Watch the sun and the moon rise over the Delaware Bay from this quiet, comfortable beachfront retreat. This easy-going cottage offers a laid-back place to celebrate life, especially for those who travel with their dogs.

Cook your favorite meals in our full kitchen, already supplied with spices and condiments, or go out to a decadent meal in one of the area's gourmet restaurants. The beach resort offers numerous activities from golf and watersports to theater and tax-free shopping, all within a few minutes' drive, but this is the place you want to call home at the end of the day.

Enjoy the romance of a candlelit evening in front of the cast-iron stove in winter, a bonfire on your private beach in summer if the wind is right, or just a simple moment of solitude wandering along the water's edge in any season. Retreat to your bedroom (one queen, one double bed) and fall asleep with the sound of the waves lapping the shore.

There's one full bath and, in summer, an outdoor shower to comfortably rinse off the salt and sand. You can also hook up a quick-connect hose to rinse off your pup with warm water.

Only two hours from Baltimore, Washington and Philadelphia, yet a world away from the stress and hassles. Escape the hustle of your work week with a relaxing weekend.

Being so close to the dunes with a fabulous view of the water was the best part of this cottage. The only real issue was the tight fit in the bathroom, but the water pressure was excellent. It’s such a dog- friendly house and community. We enjoyed the eclectic decor of the cottage, and we hope to return another time.

From the second you walk into the cottage there is the water view, from inside the house looking out, that is amazing!! The beach front access kept us in nature all day, from coffee in Adirondack chairs greeting the morning sunrise, through midday swimming, and an evening stroll to cap the day off! Also it was so much fun to have our pup along for the trip!!

Everything was great . Except the neighbors coming and telling us we had to put in our dog cause he was barking at another animal. She said this isn’t going to work to need to take him inside. Well I’m sorry that dogs have a voice too. But the beach was beautiful night and day, I love seeing the ships in the water .

The property is well loved and comfortable. The location is excellent. We relaxed and the beach was just right out the door. It was so welcoming for us and our dog. The house was clean and the coffee pot was a plus since we enjoy our coffee on the morning. We would love to stay there again.

Septic issue caused us to leave 2 nights and 3 days early was not compensated . Yard was dug up when we arrived . Had a stressful time trying to keep my dogs away from the poop dirt. Several service men showing up without notice leaving the gate open when I had dogs. For a time that we payed to have quiet relaxation and got none. Very private, no stores closer than 15 minutes. Flys Flys and more flys! I wondered why so many fly swatters and we soon found out. If you’re thinking about swimming think again the bay is so brown and dirty I only put my feet in but watch out you don’t step on horseshoe crabs the size of babies! I myself had to sweep the whole side of the house leading to steps, couldn’t open door because of all the pine cones and debri. The bedrooms don’t have closets or proper flooring. Painted plywood without rugs.WiFi cuts out, when your using the toilet you’ll get a good view of the wasps building their hive. Bees all around the shed. And if you have small dogs this fenced yard is not for you. Holes everywhere and things placed in the way instead of getting a new fence.Only rent this overpriced nothing to offer place if you want to catch up on sleep.

The septic issue was unexpected. Although we were informed the job was completed prior to your arrival, we coordinated immediately with both the plumbing and septic companies once we learned the problem persisted. The yard digging was necessary for these repairs. We also apologize that contractors arrived without notice and left the gate open. Regarding the exterior conditions, the area experienced severe storms around the time of your stay, which caused the sudden accumulation of pinecones and debris. Additionally, Prime Hook Beach is known for its private, natural environment, which means it is located about 15 minutes away from commercial stores and is home to local coastal wildlife, including seasonal marsh flies and the bay's natural horseshoe crab population. While many guests enjoy the Prime Hook beach setting, we understand it may not match everyone’s expectations. Thank you again for your review. Great first trip to this area, just me and the dogs, we all had a great time.

Loved the location very secluded, and peaceful, lots of wildlife. The dogs loved it! It was really nice to have the fenced area the porch was trebly nice with lots of windows that open. Loved being right on the beach with very short distance to walk to water.

Beach Peace

This was our third stay at this cozy little cottage on the bay. In addition to the usual things that we live about staying here, we were surprised and delighted by the throngs of migrating snow geese who hung out on ‘our’ beach, both fascinating and beautiful!

We enjoyed a very relaxing week with our dogs in this cozy beach cottage! Would definitely recommend. It’s not close to stores so plan a day to load up on your supplies but once you’re set you’re set!

This cottage with a fully-glassed in porch overlooking the Delaware Bay makes you feel as if you are outdoors year-round. The open floor plan affords a view of the water from the back door, through the kitchen and living room, to the front porch.

Guests describe the feeling of tranquility that begins the moment they leave the highway and wind their way through the 5 miles of fields and forest and marshes of the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge.

Prime Hook Beach is a lovely community, close enough to upscale restaurants and tax-free shopping at the outlets, but far enough away to feel like you are in another era.

What makes this property unique

Having a private, sandy beach right at your front door allows you to set up your stuff for the day, and be able to easily pop in and out of the house for a cold drink, lunch, your favorite paperback, another dog toy.

When the wind is right, you can have a bonfire or just lay back and watch as the stars come out. You can take sleeping bags out to spend the night watching the mid-August sky for shooting stars or enjoy watching (from the shelter of the porch) the occasional summer thunderstorm sweep across the bay, the rain dancing on the tin roof.
