We truly loved our stay here for the perfect family friends vacation. We cooked all our meals in Kitchenette with more than adequate appliances and serving ware. Our toddler loved exploring the property and the wild turkeys. we spent time on the porch enjoying the view and were very comfortable in a home away from home. Thank you Doug and Kerri for a wonderful stay!

Lizabeth and guests, thank you for such a positive and thoughtful review! We are very pleased that you had a wonderful stay and had all the amenities you needed, and that the youngest had fun exploring and being entertained by Tom and Tom Jr., the Talkative Turkeys! We appreciate your comments about having a comfortable home away from home. We welcome you back anytime. Thanks again! Doug and Keri
Very clean very beautiful. Beds were very comfortable. It was homey and great to return to after a long and busy day. Would definitely recommend this place. Only complaint was that we were totally surprised that the owners lived on site. After staying our stay it wasn't really a problem they kept to themselves and us coming in at late times didn't seem to bother them. We just worried about it because we had late nights and early mornings. That's why we wanted our own place. But everything turned out great. Would definitely come back for a getaway.

Sarah and the three staying guests, thank you for the positive and informative review! We are glad to hear that the guests enjoyed their stay. Similarly, we were also surprised to learn they were unaware we live here in our home, as the listing describes the space as 1100 square feet of one floor of our home. As our Welcome Letter (on the counter at check-in) offers, we would have been happy to address this and any concerns about returning late/up early schedules DURING their stay. Because we appreciate your perspective, we have added a few additional words here and there to the property description. Thanks again! Doug and Keri
Can't say enough good things about our stay here! This space is so thoughtfully hosted and arranged. We stayed for two nights in between camping stints in some national parks, and we especially appreciated the luxuriously comfortable beds and well-stocked kitchen tools as we refreshed ourselves, ate a couple of home-cooked meals, and took in the adorable downtown nearby.
The place was immaculate and had every amenity we would expect and more. Kitchen was very well stocked. The location, a few miles from Ashland, was perfectly situated for what we wanted to see and do. The environment was beautiful, and we spent quite a bit of time enjoying time on the porch. Beds were very comfortable. Everything appeared to be brand new or nearly so.
Great spot in the forest. We enjoyed the wildlife (deer, jackrabbits, birds) and lovely,.peaceful views from the deck. Comfortable and clean, with many thoughtful touches to make our stay more enjoyable.
Great property; very thoughtful amenities; very prompt communication from hosts. Great alternative to central Ashland!

This place was perfect! Very clean, great decor, and the view was amazing. We loved beginning and ending our day on the porch, enjoying the peace and quiet. The owners were great and had a very quick response time. We would definitely stay there again. Thank you for such a wonderful place for a much-needed getaway!
We had the most WONDERFUL experience staying here! The location is beautiful, and the craftsmanship of the home is gorgeous. It was great for our family and we highly enjoyed watching the deer and birds off the deck.

Wonderful wish we could have stayed longer! My husband left his crutches at a gas stop on the way and he was kind enough to let us borrow some he had there as soon as we got there. Everything was so clean and beautiful. It was a pleasure and will be coming back!

This is a beautiful space in a beautiful setting. Everything was comfortable, clean, modern, functional, and beautiful! I didn't realize this was attached to the owner's home when I booked it, but it wasn't awkward at all. The space is private and separate. Enjoying the view from the front porch was a relaxing highlight at night. We loved staying here!
We arrived too late to enjoy everything this amazing property had to offer. But in the short time we were there, among the highlights were:- Singularly beautiful views to wake up to- Exceptionally comfortable beds- Super communicative and involved hosts - REALLY nice shower and bathroom

About the host
Hosted by Doug and Keri
Hello from Doug and Keri !!!! Welcome to the slice of Oregon heaven we've called home since 2001. We offer Siskiyou Mountain Place, a full-service vacation rental encompassing an entire 1100 square foot floor of our home (we live on the two upper floors) with private access. Our goal is to make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible, and we promise to immediately respond to your requests and feedback. A few examples of different guest requests: fresh towels mid-10 day stay, an improved garbage disposal switch, decaf coffee and non-dairy creamer, heavy-duty extension cord to charge electric vehicle, and more.
Why they chose this property
This area southwest of Ashland enjoys the pace and feel of rural living combined with the 10-minutes-to-town convenience, similar to traveling from one neighborhood to another in a big city. It is a quiet area, with our section of an old state highway (maintained well by Oregon's ODOT) having little traffic. Our property faces north, giving you a million dollar 180 degree view north, east and west toward Grizzly Peak and Emigrant Lake. More often than not, there are spectacular and colorful sunsets to the northwest.
What makes this property unique
This property is just over five acres of quiet and solitude in the trees, of which our guests can enjoy about an acre of grounds for relaxing, walking, hiking, birdwatching, picnicking or playing in the snow for those who like it (about 30 days or less per year). You can kick back on a brand new comfortable and rustic real-cedar deck with hand built log railings, new deck furniture and a covered deck ceiling. Deck access is via cedar steps or an ADA ramp. With lower light pollution than the city, enjoy the use of a Simmons telescope for moon or stargazing.
