This was a casita on a horse farm in an open area east of Hwy 285. It was a short car ride to go from the casita to downtown Santa Fe and to other parts of ElDorado. The casita had a beautiful sleeping loft as well as a futon. The kitchen was well-appointed and easy to use. Spacious living room. The area was quiet and peaceful. I would absolutely stay here again!

This casita was fantastic and the property it's on is nice, quiet, secluded and full of wildlife. Jackrabbits, Ravens, and horses. There is a nice pizza place nearby and a short drive to Santa Fe.

There are many nice touches with little boxes and decorative items that made it warm and cozy. After sleeping in the upstairs bedroom for one night, I decided to sleep downstairs on the futon for the rest of the visit because there was no banister and railing to hold onto. Because I go to the bathroom at night multiple times it did not seem super safe and I hit my head on the slanted ceiling every time I got up. My sister slept on the sofa, which was very comfortable. There were lots of towels in the cabinet and lots of sheets too, so it made sleeping arrangements flexible. The driveway was a little bit in need of extra gravel to fill in the ruts. I had to make sure I drove on the middle of the driveway so that the undercarriage of the car did not rub against the middle part of the driveway. It would’ve been better to have a higher automobile. The water in the kitchen did not get hot so I was washing dishes with cold water and soap. I prefer washing dishes with hot water. There was a sign that said no shoes allowed in the Casita. I wish I had known that before I went.Checking in was a little bit challenging because the picture with the lockbox did not exactly match color wise with the doors. I think the picture was too old.Fortunately, the Casita was near El Dorado, where there was a grocery store.

We had heavy rains in New Mexico that damaged parts of our driveway. It has been repaired. We are sorry the guest had difficulty with the stairs but there is a railing on the left side up to the central landing and then, on the right, there is a straight railing to the loft. There are two other sleeping options downstairs, a futon and a fold-out couch for those who would rather be on the ground floor.

Clean & very quiet.

Overall this was a very good stay. We enjoyed the peace and serenity surrounding the area. Very comfortable living room seating (plus couch in kitchen/dining area, great for morning coffee). Bed in loft very comfortable also. We had two areas of concern (not complaints!) 1. Discovered on the first morning, we had no stove to prepare breakfast. (does have microwave and toaster oven) A positive, there is an excellent diner (Cafe Fina) up near the junction of I-25. We went there 2 mornings. 2. The stairs to the loft are a bit tricky for senior citizens (we are in our 70's) No railing on the top portion, which for us is needed. We both found ways to negotiate the stairs, but was careful as we came down. (especially on shaky morning legs) :) Overall, we enjoyed out stay. R & I

Great Peaceful Location

This is a great location, just far enough out from Santa Fe to get out of the hustle and bustle but only a quick 20 min drive in. Pros: Hostess responded quickly Nice welcome basket Fantastic ranch-great for morning or evening walks! Nice wildlife and a stable with beautiful horses right next door to the Casita Plenty of bedding and towels Good Wifi for work (we used every day) Kitchen has the basics for a short trip George Foreman electric grill outside Air conditioning consisted of fans and one small swamp cooler downstairs. Most days we were fine with open windows. Folks in El Dorado are super friendly. There is a local grocery store in El Dorado if you don’t want to drive in to Santa Fe, with prices a little higher which is par for the course for a small town. Disadvantages: As others have mentioned, stairs are steep and no rails after the landing(but if you're only using one bed there is a futon or a couch bed downstairs) Mini fridge and a two burner stove top is a challenge for longer stays. Minimal counter space for food prep. Mini fridge kept freezing the food in the refrigerated section. No pantry. There is a dresser but no place to hang clothes upstairs. Those staying downstairs used the utility closet to hang clothes. The house is decorated eclectically. To ensure we didn't break keepsakes or dirty unnecessarily we put away many extra couch/chair pillows, rugs, and knick knacks. We tried to take pictures first but may have not got them all back exactly.

Casita space showed to be a delightful environment inside and outside. Aside from a brief in person contact with the host - in order to resolve an internet issue, we communicated courteously via text.
