Great stay, real comforrable, minor things in the hone was noticed that was communicated with the management and noticed the basement was super cold so stay out of it but overall great stay.
We stayed for a long weekend here and our 2nd time in Massanutten Resort. The home was large enough for 13 people including small kids and older teens. Home is a little dated but it had all basic necessities we needed. Love the proximity to the ski resort and very responsive and accommodating host! Thank you!
I didn’t personally spend a lot of time in the cabin but my family did and only had one complaint. Many lights were inoperable either due to burnt out lightbulbs or faulty fixtures. Also, while trying to determine operability, the outlet under the big window in the living room sparked when the lamp was plugged in. Lastly, I thought I read somewhere that the garage was available for use but the overhead door was inoperable. These minor things accumulated to a one star penalty but the property overall was well worth the money, had beautiful views, and had plenty of the listed amenities. The hot tub looked so nice and relaxing but we unfortunately didn’t have the time to use it. Would definitely rent again!
We were 7 adults and had plenty of room. Comfy beds, comfy couches, modern and well appointed kitchen. We spent a lot of time on the screened in porch which all 7 of us fit nicely.
The property was located in a nice and secluded neighborhood. The stream behind the house offered a calming peace when sitting outside. I would recommend this property to others.
The main level is pretty accessible for a wheelchair user. We brought our own ramp and the small step in the garage was no problem.
Great location and close to the ski lifts.
Thank you for this wonderful five-star review, Jim!

The cabin is not well maintained or clean. The window cells were full of dust, stain on the carpet, dirty couches, washing machine was old, the shower upstairs was not working, upstairs bed was not comfortable and there was hair on the sheets. We found confetti and a plastic cup from a party. The TV was too small. Also when we walked in, the cabin smelled like greasy food. The dishes were greasy. We had to wash the sheets and towels as well as the dishes in order to use it. The outdoor jacuzzi had dead bugs in it and tons of dust, very unclean. The furniture was very old and needs to be replaced. The rocking chair foot stool was broken. There were stains on the blankets and spiders in the house. For the amount of money that it costs, the cabin was in very poor condition.
This was a lovely base for a summer family vacation in the Shenandoah area. The generous kitchen was well-supplied and the beds were comfortable. We especially appreciated the larger dining table with seating for eight! The three-level home has single-zone heating and cooling, which means the upstairs rooms are warmer than the basement room. The gravel driveway to the large 2-car garage is a little steep unless you have 4-wheel-drive, but off-street parking is also available adjacent to the street. We enjoyed playing the board games! Highly recommended!
We were in town for a college Family Weekend and very excited to stay here. Unfortunately the house was dirty, the fridge did not work-it was hot and smelled awful. We called the emergency number, no one ever called us back however we did get responses to our VRBO messages but with empty promises of maintenance and housekeeping which never materialized. Would not recommend this house or host for any reason!

Hi Andrew.
We are truly sorry that you experienced issues with the fridge during your stay - we did call you back and responded via VRBO messages, however we never heard back from you so we assumed that everything was working well again.
We did try to contact you again after departure for further discussion on the issues at hand but never received a response at that point either.
We do our best to ensure each guest has an enjoyable and relaxing stay and wish we had had the opportunity to provide this for you!
Regards, The M.V. Team
We had a few minor issues. Couldn’t use hot tub when it cooled off in the evening because no outside lights were working and Fireplace didn’t work. Because there were no outside lights we could not enjoy the screened in back porch in the evening. Grill had not been cleaned and was gross so we couldn’t use . Oven looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. No kitchen towel and kitchen faucet was unscrewed so it gave me a shower the first time we used it. ( that was an easy fix) Found trash and toys under chair And there was no fooseball table .

Thank you for the review, Dawn!
The foosball table was removed from the home due to being damaged by a renter, but I apologize if no one informed you of this prior to your check in. The lights, fireplace, and hot tub have since been working, but again, sorry they were not functioning during your stay! Thank you for the great feedback.
Best,

Some definite pros, lots of cons too
I’ll start with positives. Location is amazing and it’s a big space to spread out if you have several guests and the beds were pretty comfortable (bring your own pillows however…and towels and some extra blankets). Kids loved the foos ball table downstairs. The property manager was also prompt in responding. Now for the negatives. This property needs several updates. Showers barely work, plumbing in general just isn’t great, furniture is outdated and not all that comfortable. There’s a bed downstairs in the basement that we couldn’t even use because it was freezing downstairs and the fireplace was also not working. Our biggest disappointment was the hot tub was not working AT ALL. Read all the other reviews about this issue, and yet they still lead with this amenity in their advertising. I’m sure some people don’t care, but we were really looking forward to that feature given how much back pain my husband and I both experience, and right before we were to check in we were given the “heads up” that the hot tub was being serviced but they couldn’t get it to work. So bummed. This was our first time to the resort area and we had a blast given how close we were to everything. Overall this property is a decent value for the money, but little improvements and functionality of what’s advertised would make this a place I’d come back to all the time. In its current state, we will probably pay more and look elsewhere for our next visit.

Adrianne,
Thank you for this feedback! We did actively correct the issues mentioned in this review, such as the plumbing, the basement fireplace, and the hot tub (which required a whole new power cable and was professionally installed by a local electrical company), and all of those items have worked since March/April of 2022. We have had the home rented numerous times, as well as had the homeowners in, since then, and all those guests were able to enjoy the home :)
We do again apologize for the issues faced and again, have had the issues corrected. This home has a great location, views of the forestry, and is a really cozy home for small family gathering, a couples weekend, or a fun weekend away!

Property Manager wasn’t easy to get in touch with, but they always responded eventually. Directions provided in the Lease agreement didn’t exactly match directions provided in the house. The upstairs shower head and curtain fell down multiple times due to no fault of our own. Hot tub was usable but it was filthy upon our arrival. The internet/wifi did not work. The ice maker made ice, but the dispenser did not work. Overall, we would definitely come back to this house, we’re just hoping we don’t get charged for the condition of the items that were already damaged upon our arrival.

Hi, Robert!
Thank you so much for this lovely review - we came to good solution regarding the hot tub. Unfortunately, the internet is up to the homeowners to maintain, but I do apologize you all experienced issues with it during your stay!
Thank you!

The photos don’t do the property any Justice. It’s much more unique and beautiful in person the entire area is phenomenal. Definitely worth the low price and definitely will be booking again

The property was beautiful. Lots of room. The wifi didn't work well, new linen needs to be purchased, because the linen on the beds were not clean. Over all everyone had a good time. Would stay again.
