"Perfectly Imperfect" ain't just a name, it's a promise. This here is a handbuilt mountain retreat nestled on sprawling, private wooded acreage designed specifically for folks who’d rather have a real, unplugged-feeling experience than overpriced valet parking and a front desk clerk with a funny accent.
There's room to stretch out here. So whether you're hosting a family getaway or just want a quiet retreat, there is plenty of room to gather 'round or find your own quiet corner.
The Sleeping Spaces and Layout: Downstairs you will find two big, cozy bedrooms equipped with premium mattresses, soft linens, and comfy pillows to ensure you rest easy. Upstairs features a massive loft space that the young'uns and young at heart will absolutely love. When it is time to unwind, the master bath offers a deep, relaxing garden tub perfect for soaking away a long, adventurous day on the river.
Four-Legged Family Welcome: Bring the dogs along because we don’t just allow pets, we welcome them as part of the family. They will have acres of quiet woods and a crisp mountain creek to safely explore, sniff, and enjoy without a care in the world.
Primitive Soul, Modern Comforts: We might be backwoods, but we aren't backward. We've equipped the cabin with all the modern creature comforts you need to feel pampered. If you need to stay in touch with the world or stream a movie, we have reliable high-speed WiFi, a 55-inch Smart TV, and an Alexa to play your favorite tunes. For the perfect climate, two split-system HVACs control the temperature in the main area and each bedroom, plus there are propane wall heaters and fireplaces to help keep you perfectly toasty when it's cold out.
Embrace the Mountain Air: While the inside is cozy, our outdoor setup is designed to help you fully embrace the fresh mountain air with unmatched privacy. Grab a spot on the massive wraparound porch complete with solar lighting, which is ideal for late-night stargazing or early morning porch-sittin' with a hot cup of coffee. If you feel like cooking, you can do it right over the campfire or use our outdoor propane griddle. Nothing beats a mountain meal in the open air, and the propane is entirely on us during your stay.
Two Firepits for the Perfect Evening: We have two distinct firepits for you to enjoy. Just steps from the front door, you can relax at the new front yard firepit, complete with a cooking grate and comfortable Adirondack chairs proudly handmade from local Polk County timber. If you want a more primitive experience, take some folding chairs down or tailgate at the old creekside fire pit while enjoying the peaceful rush of Turtletown Creek.
Secluded, But Close to Adventure: We are tucked away in the quiet woods of Turtletown, Tennessee, but we're just minutes from the best adventures the region has to offer. Whitewater outfitters are only 10 to 15 minutes away for world-class Ocoee River rafting, alongside endless nearby hiking trails and scenic picnic spots in the Cherokee and Nantahala National Forests. If you need a nature break, the charming shops and downtown dining hubs are only 30 minutes away in either Blue Ridge, Georgia or Murphy, North Carolina.
Whether you're here to conquer the rapids or just sit back and watch the trees grow, your forest hideaway is waitin'.

Host was very welcoming and responsive. This place is great for a get away with the family and dog! Loved the big tub, the deck, the kitchen, the fireplaces. Having Alexa for music was a nice touch. Didn't realize there was a pack n play and a high chair already there for the baby, so rhat was a nice surprise!

Well, shucks, thank y'all for the kind words! Mighty glad to hear you and your pup enjoyed the deck and cozy fires. We aim to make it feel like home, right down to the baby gear. Y'all come on back and see us again when you need another break from the hustle and bustle!
Great location, tucked away in your own little holler and we loved that part. The interior wasnt bad. Wasnt great, but wasnt bad. Felt somewhat incomplete. But we really enjoyed the place. Our 2 disappointments were the wrap around porch wasnt safe and no fire pit as pictured Materials are on site to repair the porch I believe but was not safe in its current condition All in all, we would go back here if it were to meet our needs. The best thing about this place is seclusion. Didnt see a soul for 3 days and thats what we needed

James, we sure do appreciate the honest feedback. We’ve been hard at it up here, and that old porch you mentioned? Yep… she was ugly. No argument there. But she’s all fixed up now. We’ve added some fresh interior decor too, so the inside’s got a little extra soul to match the outside.
As for the firepit, I truly wish you’d hollered at us. It’s down by the creek. Takes a short walk to get there, but you had 11 acres of holler to explore and it was sittin’ right in the prettiest spot of it. Even so, we hear you loud and clear. We’re already plannin’ to add another firepit up in the front yard to make things easier for future guests.
Plenty more improvements in the works, too.
Feel free to check in on everything we’re doin’ at cabin230.com and we hope to welcome you back once the mountains call your name again.
About the host

We’ve spent our lives chasin' the quiet. For us, there’s nothin' better than a spot where the world stops hollerin' at you. We built this life on peace, presence, and a handbuilt home that’s got more soul than a gospel choir. We aren’t about fancy. We’re about family, forest, and finally slowin' down enough to hear yourself think. If you have similar values, we'd love to share our place for peace with you.
Why they chose this property
We chose this corner of Polk County because 11 acres of the Cherokee National Forest is the best neighbor a person can have. Out here, it’s so quiet the only thing you’ll hear is a squirrel changin' his mind in the tree overhead. Whether you're gearin' up for the Ocoee whitewater or just lookin' to watch the stars until your eyes get heavy, this land has a way of fixin' what’s bothered you. It’s rugged, it’s real, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
What makes this property unique
Most folks build a house; ours was built by hand and is guarded by spirit. At 1,800+ SF, she’s a big girl with a simple heart. What makes us stand out ain’t a marble countertop or a fancy paved driveway, it’s the fact that you’ve got 11 private acres of the Cherokee National Forest all to yourself.
We’ve got a brand-new, huge wraparound deck where the only 'traffic' is the birds, and it’s so peaceful out here you can actually hear a squirrel change his mind halfway across the yard. Between the massive kid-friendly loft and a master tub deep enough to forget your own name in, we’re the perfect mix of 'backwoods' and 'well-taken-care-of.' If you’re lookin' for a place that feels like a real Appalachian hideaway instead of a cookie-cutter hotel room, you’ve found it.
