I have been using Vrbo at multiple price points for over a decade. I never had a problem until this rental. I have stayed at properties listed for under 100 and they were in safe, walkable neighborhoods with clean and updated amenities. The B-town overlook was rundown and in a struggling commercial district. It is advertised as “historical,” and came up in a search for Prospect Hill, which is a quiet, nice residential area. The listing is not accurate. I left after the first night and the host refused to reimburse me for my unused nights.

Thank you for your feedback. We take all guest concerns seriously and aim to provide a safe, comfortable experience for everyone who stays with us.
We’ve hosted hundreds of guests in this historic building without any safety issues. As a parent myself, I’ve often had my young children playing on the porch while I work nearby, and we’ve always felt secure. Our listing is located in the Prospect Hill Historic Neighborhood, just one or two blocks from the Convention Center and B-Line Trail, and two blocks from downtown center. The building, originally constructed in 1875, offers both charm and proximity to key locations.
Regarding your concerns: the light bulb was replaced within minutes, and the heat issue was due to the thermostat being turned off—easily resolved. We had multiple people present in the building that day who were available to assist, but the concerns were only brought up after the guest left.
After your departure, you requested a refund. We offered to refund any unused nights that could be rebooked, provided the reservation was canceled. However, the reservation was never canceled.
We always strive for clear communication and guest satisfaction, and we appreciate the opportunity to address these matters.
