Waterfront Carriage House Apartment

The Carriage House was built in 1925 to store carriages for the large Victorian home, across the street. Once carriages became a thing of the past, part of the carriage house was converted to a one bedroom apartment that has direct water views and a private deck overlooking the water. There are two queen beds in the bedroom. Enjoy the 585 feet of shared lake frontage with beach and complimentary use of canoes, kayaks, standup paddle boards and fire pits.

Walk 0.5 miles to the Squamside Beach Bar or Walter's Basin restaurant. Only 200 yards away is The Ice House Creamery with home made ice cream. See bears, bobcats and mountain lions 1 mile away at the Squam Lakes Science Center.

This rental shares the 2.3 acres and 585 feet of lake frontage with other cabins and suites on the property. The outside common areas include a beautiful sandy beach, fire pits, bbq grills and outdoor activities.

Guests are asked to clean the dishes and take out the trash prior to departure.

This rental does not accept pets. If you do want your pet to join you on your vacation, please look at our pet friendly rentals, which are suites 1, 3, 4, 9 and 12.

Keycode locks allow guests to check in at their convenience. The code will be sent to the guests prior to arrival. Smoking is only permitted on the property at the designated smoking areas near the parking lot.

Guests are welcome to enjoy the rental home, spacious deck, and the full 2.3 acres of property including the beach, swim raft, canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards. We kindly ask that you avoid entering the barn, garages, or any docks labeled as private.

While cell service can be spotty in Holderness, we’re happy to offer a strong and reliable Wi-Fi connection. Just connect to the network "The Boulders" upon arrival to stay connected during your stay.

Great location , pictures were very deceiving of the actual place!

Overall the outside area, the location and the lake itself were beyond beautiful. The apartment itself was quite shocking, compared to the pictures. The place was extremely old and dirty with trash under the beds, mouse poop in the corners of the bedroom , bathroom and in the kitchen by the trash can. The bathroom shower was almost unusable. It was so filthy, the door was so old, nasty and rusted the actual door didn't even shut. There was a 2 in gap ...Only thing we used it for was to rinse our feet. Couldn't leave the windows open in the living room because there were NO screens. The AC did work but we didn't want to use it .... The coffee maker was broken, but we were able to make it work ...we had to bring our own lines which was probably a blessing because the bed itself had a cover on it that was stained and gross. Overall, we had a blast because my friend and I can have fun anywhere. But for the cost of this place, I would have expected much more cleanliness, and proper photos to show what the place really looks like! They were very deceiving! Great outside space , the lake and backyard area of this place is beautiful. The owners did communicate well when I asked a question. Just be prepared for the inside.

We are glad that you loved the lake, beach and outdoor areas! Thank you for letting us know about the shower door which has now been fixed. We immediately inspected the rental after your review and found most of the feedback to be untrue. We did not see and have never seen signs of mice in this rental. Underneath both beds was free of trash and dirt. The coffee maker was new this summer and worked fine when tested. There is no screen in the window because of the AC, but there is a full sized screen door directly next to the window. We do agree this is NOT a brand new construction property with the highest end finishes, but found much of the review that was left to be very misleading.
