Lakefront Luxe: Rustic-Chic Guesthouse with Hot Tub & Paddle Boards

Nestled on the shores of Serpent Lake in the heart of the Cuyuna area, our brand-new "rustic chic" guest house offers beautiful lake views with modern comforts. Fully equipped kitchen, plush bedding, salt water hydrotherapy hot tub and much more all within close proximity to numerous outdoor activities including the internationally known bike trails. This retreat promises a perfect blend of relaxation and adventure.
Complementary use of 2 kayaks and 3 paddle boards. One of them being a "party paddle board" which holds 6-8 people.
Dogs are welcome with prior approval and a $50 per dog, per stay fee.

Super clean with great amenities! All of the outdoor lake and campfire items that you can think of, and a nice location relative to downtown Crosby. That side of Serpent Lake is beautiful in the summer. Our kids especially enjoyed the swim platform and dock. It was perfect for our family of 5.

Great Cabin

Cabin was awesome and close to the lake. Great for a family looking to fish, kayak , or just relax. The hot tub was a wonderful way to end the night!

We had a wonderful week’s vacation at this cabin! Everything went smoothly, from booking to arrival to anything we needed onsite to departure - Kelly & Tim are wonderful hosts. The cabin itself is new, modern & very nice - so nice that I was worried my kids would wreak something! The rental included lots of outdoor fun - hot tub, paddle boards, kayaks, floaties, a boat tube, plenty of outdoor chairs, Solo Stove & more. It’s also equi-distance between Crosby & Deerwood, so plenty of options if you want to venture out. I highly recommend this lovely property!

Beautiful cabin and great hosts

We absolutely loved our stay! Cabin is so modern and open and comfortable. Lake is quiet and perfect for relaxation. Hosts are great people and always available for any questions or issues. They had the cabin move in ready for our week away. We didn’t want to leave!

Home away from home!

Kelly and Tim were great hosts! We were all extremely happy and honored to be their first booking! The cabin was immaculate and the hot tub just steps from the patio door was an amazing way to relax! The cabin had everything needed for our weekend plus more; it felt like our home away from home! We are looking forward to our next stay with Kelly and Tim!

Great location, adorable property!

The property was on beautiful Serpent lake, the rental is so cute, and had everything we could possible need! Comfortable and clean, the hot tub was lovely! The hosts were so kind, and had kayaks, and paddleboards for use! You can tell the hosts put much consideration into the design and layout of the property, it was welcome and just perfect for a weekend away! Close to many dining options, and activities! I would highly recommend this property, as it offered everything we needed and then some!

Something for everyone

We had a great stay at this really nice lakefront cabin. Hosts were very responsive to any questions, place was the most well-appointed short-term rental I've ever stayed at, and there's something for everyone to do, including hanging out inside the beautiful cabin, on the great patio with jacuzzi, on the dock, paddling the lake, heading into town for food/drinks/shopping, city park playground for kids, or biking/hiking/fishing at Cuyuna. Great spot.

Girls Weekend

We absolutely loved our stay at Cuyuna Cabin! We’re highschool besties that get together to relax and catch up and this place was PERFECT!! Super cozy couch and lighting. Kitchen was stocked with everything we could ask for since we cooked every meal. We spent countless hours in the hot tub. Loved it so much already talked about coming back next year for longer! We had a fantastic time at this cabin. It was spotless, very well-stocked with everything we needed, and the hot tub was a definite highlight after days spent exploring. The lake access was perfect, and we brought our paddleboards and loved paddling on the beautiful mine lakes. We also biked on the Cuyuna bike trails—which were absolutely awesome and well-maintained.The setting was peaceful and relaxing, and the hosts were great—responsive, welcoming, and clearly care about the guest experience.One thing to note (that wasn’t mentioned in the listing) is that the owners live in a house on the same property. It wasn’t an issue for us at all, but it’s something we feel future guests might want to be aware of.Overall, we highly recommend this cabin and would absolutely stay here again!

Cabin Paradise

I just spent 3 nights at the most beautiful cabin. It really is prettier than the pictures. A little context about my trip- I am a woman in her early 30s who needed a little getaway from work and school. This was my first time going and staying somewhere alone for days in a row. I want to express how incredibly SAFE I felt on the property. The area was very nice, quiet, and welcoming. I had absolutely no troubles taking the cover off and on the hot tub by myself. The salt water hot tub was one of the big selling points for me. It was cold and rainy during most of my stay, but the hot tub was still so enjoyable. Kelly and Tim are the most amazing hosts and go out of their way to accommodate and make sure I was all took care of the whole time. The coffee bar was impressive. The area is also beautiful. Was able to find some pretty trails near by. There was some really good restaurant options between Crosby and Brainerd/Baxter. I'd say this little trip exceeded my expectations for my first solo trip. I will definitely be back, and I cannot wait :)

We moved to the Cuyuna area during COVID and absolutely love it here! My husband Tim and I met 31 years ago at the serpent in Crosby park while learning to scuba dive. We have always love this area and decided this would be a great place to retire. The popular mountain biking, ATV and Snowmobile trails make this area a year round adventure zone. We were fortunate to purchase a property on Serpent Lake which sits in the heart of it all. We have a large family and many amazing close friends that we built a cabin for on our property. When not in use, we decided to rent it out to share the joy of this amazing area with others.

Why they chose this property

It's close to everything!
85+ miles of level 1-5 Mountain Biking Trails (1.5 miles to park entrance).
ATV, Snowmobiling, Snow shoeing and cross country ski trails are all in abundance in the area.
Brewery's, wine bars, craft cocktails and a distillery all close by.
New big SuperOne grocery and liquor store is only 2-3 miles away.
4 nearby golf courses, numerous restaurants and shops.
Fishing, Boating, jet skiing and a variety of other water sports.
3 water parks and a zoo in nearby Brainerd area and so much more!

What makes this property unique

Our cabin was built mainly by Tim with the help of friends and family from time to time. The design idea was a lot of Kelly's inspiration. The exterior siding and some of the wood finishes on the inside make this cabin really special. We used a technique called Shou Sugi Ban on the siding where you char it to make it look burnt. This process makes it naturally rodent, insect and waterproof. It's also supposed to last up to 80 years!
