Waterfront Beauty with Breathtaking Views of Islands, Olympic Mountains – Right next to the beach

Welcome to Wondrous Beach House! We’ve recently remodeled our house that our guests can enjoy their time with all the amenities you will need.

If you’re looking for a waterfront property, sand, nature, and some relaxation, Wondrous West Beach House is the perfect place to stay! Located on the water, and right next door to West Beach Park and Joseph Whidbey Stark Park, you will have breathtaking views of Puget Sound, and close access to play on the sand. With two floors of comfort, a large main-level deck and upper-level balcony, a wood-burning fireplace, and a prime location, your next getaway to the Whidbey Island is sure to be unforgettable! There is also a private washer/dryer combo in the well-equipped, full kitchen, so you don't have to worry about finding the nearest laundromat. From the large main-level deck, you will see whales, sea otters, eagles, sea birds and so many species and crashing waves on the beach.

There are a lot to do and see nearby and enjoy. Few to list here:
Café, casual dining, dine-in restaurants, and shopping, within 5 miles.
Deception Pass State Park, 15 miles
Golfing at Whidbey, 5 miles
Pacific Northwest Naval Air Museum, 5 miles

THINKGS TO KNOW:
The vacation rental is not equipped with air-conditioning.
Winter high and low king tides are expected from December to end of January. Occasionally, there is a high wind and ocean waves.
Love your pets, but we have a no pet policy due to server allergies in our family.

Fantastic views

This is a great spot on West Beach with fantastic views of the Olympics. Close to lota of activities on Whidbey Island, Fidalgo, and La Connor. We plan to book again.

Overall, our visit was outstanding. After resolving some issues the first night, we slept very well - the bed was quite comfortable. The bathroom was well-supplied, as was the kitchen. The decorations were very pleasant. The views both towards the ocean and towards the lake were beautiful. It's right on the ocean, but a short 10-minute drive into town for restaurants and groceries. We'll stay here again if the opportunity arises.

It’s a maintenance nightmare. Black mold in the kitchen, inside and behind the dishwasher etc. The house has been remodeled and looks nice on the inside at least but needs new windows and screens, couldn’t use the screen doors, cut our trip short because of the mold etc. The waves beat against the house so much it didn’t seem structurally sound. Really good area for rock rounders though and the beds were nice and everything was clean for the most part except the black mold. It is super bad in the kitchen and every time you open the fridge door. We think it’s possibly behind the cabinetry.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly

The Good: Host was very accommodating and offered early check in. The view is great. Living room/ kitchen nicely remodeled. Bathrooms were nice and well stocked. The Bad: Neither screen door worked so you couldn’t get to the patio unless you went out the front door and not at all upstairs. Dishwasher wasn’t secured so every time you opened it the whole thing came out of the space and it didn’t dry the dishes at all. Shower door was broken. One of the handles on bedroom door came off when I pulled the door open. Screens on windows all had holes so you couldn’t really open the few windows available to open because the flys came in. No hangers in closet. The Ugly: Found someone else’s dirty underwear under the bed! Gross! Front yard is dismal and side yard with fire pit is disgusting! Outside needs A-LOT of attention. This house has great potential but needs so much fixed. Very disappointed with this one.

Thanks for the review and this will help us improve. Regarding the sliding scree, we replaced the sliding door screens couple time in last two years but the salt water and sand damage them quickly. Even though the dishwasher is 6 months old but looks like it’s not working and will be replaced soon. We don’t see any broken shower door but will inspect again.
