My husband and I was born and raised and still reside in this area. We grew up playing in the very mountains that are now the Hatfield-McCoy Trail System. We have seen the interest that others have for our beautiful mountains and wanted to host a place for them to stay to get to know our heritage. We're hoping that all who come to stay in our second home have as much fun, joy, and relaxation that we have had over the years. We opened the in-ground pool that occupies the property this year . We hope our guests will enjoy it as we did.

Why they chose this property

We have known the neighbors around the area for a number of years, some since childhood. It's very quiet and relaxing on the front porch or the back patio. We added a home made barbeque grill/smoker and a firepit in the backyard for your family and/or friends to help enjoy your time at our place when you're not riding the trails. There is no better feeling than being out in the cool mountain air.

What makes this property unique

The house itself has a lot of history, being built in the the 1940's by a family that lived close to my childhood home. It was built one room at a time as the family grew and flourished. We completely renovated the home with some help from family and friends. We tried to bring the character of the house out and add some outside nature/wildlife to the inside. My husband and son are avid bowhunters and harvested the two deer hanging in the living room. The property is 18 acres and has some of the biggest trees and best scenery for hiking with a lot of different wildlife and plants. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoyed bringing this home back to life.
