We really enjoyed our stay at Linden Hall Farm. The house has so much character and history. It was clean and comfortable and we had all that we needed. Very close to the town of Berkeley Springs. We would come stay again for sure!
-branches infront of driveway that I was forced to remove or would have scratched my truck-"abundant" amounts of fire wood is just the woods-5 mins showers-ignores our booking and never responded to us until she checked her camera and wanted to collect her pet fee. That was never clearly presented when we booked-have neighbors right next door-pet fee that isn't listed anywhere-has camera pointing right at deck & porch so the whole time it felt like we were being spied on-no cushions on deck couch-biggest bed was a double-no extra toilet paper- shower doesn't drain properly, standing in puddles while showering-total was significantly less before "host fees" and "dog fees" and total was almost double the original booking
Admired the work that went into restoring this Historic Home!

Hello Linda,
Thank you for staying at the Old Homestead. I’m curious & would like to know why 4 stars were received & not 5. What was missing or didn’t meet your expectation? I appreciate knowing so that I can make adjustments &/or
Improvements. Thank you. Sarah
A lovely historic farm home with plenty of charm. It is just the right amount of close and far away from the town, so it is great for for wondering deeply about the stars in sky. We witnessed a lovely show choregraphed by the June fireflies. Absolutely lovely.
We were lucky enough to call this our home for several weeks in June and July. It was the perfect place for our family to spend some time together during a transition. The property is full of history and comfort and literally has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Sarah was extremely responsive and more than accommodating. If we are ever back this way we would love to stay again!

Thank you so much Beth for taking such phenomenal care of the Old Homestead, & for loving it like your own throughout your 2 month stay. I'm couldn’t have wished for a better person, & I can’t thank you enough for leaving the house in tip-top shape. It was so lovely to meet you, so please do come back to stay: mi casa es su casa. You, your family & furry loved ones will be welcomed heartily.
We absolutely loved the house and all it's uniqueness. I'm a sucker for an older home, and this was just a delight. Very comfortable space, well kept despite it's old age, has such a welcoming and warm personality, enjoyed the living spaces, comfortable bedrooms, large outdoor spaces, beautiful deck to enjoy the spring/summer air, and just overall ease of use for the home. My friends and I had an amazing time and we hope to be back soon.
The farmhouse was absolutely adorable! It was the perfect size for my family and my brother’s. We had 4 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs and we had plenty of room to spread out but it still felt cozy. We played several rousing games of croquet and spent lots of time enjoying the large front porch. 10/10 would definitely recommend!

Hi Katie,
The Old Homestead loved having you. Tickles me to know you enjoyed many rousing games of croquet, enjoyed the front portion, & felt cozy inside. Please come again. We welcome you, your family & friends.
We really enjoyed our time here! The house was very unique, and included everything advertised. The location of the property was beautiful and so peaceful. My only suggestion is leaving wifi information in the home, and the check out process did include more housekeeping than I would expect, when a cleaning fee is included. We do plan to return! Thank you!
We chose this cabin because it looked like a unique experience, and it was. It was unusually cold during our stay but we were cozy and toasty inside. The location is convenient to the Berkeley Springs warm springs spa amenities, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The rest of our pleasant weekend was spent in the cabin, cooking up meals in the well equipped kitchen and catching up with old friends by the wood stove. The property is scenic and peaceful. I walked my dog down the gravel driveway and across the road into an adjacent neighborhood, and people waved and seemed friendly. The stargazing was also fantastic. There was WiFi and good cell phone coverage so you don't have to disconnect from the world, though you can and probably should.

This is a beautiful property located in a lovely quiet area. I mostly enjoyed my stay while in the property. However, the listing does not indicate the fact that two of the three bedrooms are only connected to the hallway by one door. This may be awkward for some guest configurations as the person or people staying in the inner bedroom will have to cross through the other bedroom to access the landing and bathroom in the middle of the night. This was not a problem for us during our stay but would’ve best been indicated in the listing.Unfortunately, the check-out expectations are not clear and the amount of cleaning expected that are not in writing upon booking seem excessive when paying a cleaning fee plus a pet fee which is listed by VRBO as additional cleaning for pet issues.
We've visited Berkeley Springs more times than we can remember, and usually stay in remote cabins in the woods. This property offers the same feel, but with the convenience of being only five minutes from Downtown. It is full of historic charm, vintage furnishings, and enough quirkiness to maintain your curiosity during your stay.
The main living space and bedrooms are spacious and bright. The mattresses are very comfortable. The kitchen is very well equipped, including condiments and spices. There is a large selection of fine teas, as well as a coffee grinder, beans, Keurig and an automatic drip coffee maker.
We enjoyed sitting on the front porch, the back deck, and around the fire ring at dusk. As bird watchers we found the abundance of birds on the property to be great fun.

Thank you, Michael. I, & the Old Homestead are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for everything, for taking care & loving her as if she were your own. Please come back again; you are always welcome.
Sarah is a lovely host. We had a hiccup on the day of our arrival (before our arrival) with a potential issue that would have compromised our stay. Sarah contacted us, was up front with the potential issue, had already contacted a contractor, and had already looked to see if alternative accommodation was available to us. She even offered to have us wait in the house to see if the issue could be fixed. Ultimately, the issue was a non-issue and we were able to stay in the house! She allowed us an early check in. The house itself is so quaint and is pretty much exactly as described. It has a lovely historical charm (though that does mean some things that go along with an older house, such as short showers). We had everything we needed and there were some lovely "add-ins" such as the face masks in the main bathroom! The location of the house is excellent. It's close to downtown and close to all of the destinations we visited. I wish the weather was warmer so that we could enjoy the beautiful porch. We appreciate Sarah's excellent communication and kindness and we enjoyed a restful getaway at the Old Homestead!
We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend at this charming 1840 farmhouse. The location was excellent—just a few minutes from downtown Berkeley Springs and the grocery store, making it easy to explore the area while still enjoying a peaceful country setting.Check-in and check-out were simple using the lockbox, and our request for an early check-in was graciously accommodated, which we really appreciated. The Wi-Fi worked well, the beds were comfortable, the window A/C units kept the house comfortable despite the July heat, and the gas grill was clean, fueled, and ready to use. Our favorite spot was the front porch with the ceiling fan—it became everyone's gathering place throughout the weekend. The house has lots of character and truly feels like an old farmhouse rather than a typical vacation rental. It almost feels as though someone stepped out and let you borrow their home for the weekend. Some guests will love that lived-in feel. Others should know that the home is filled with collections, decorative pieces, china, coffee makers, and other personal touches, so there isn't much open counter or shelf space for your own belongings.A couple of things future guests should know: there is no dishwasher, and although we understood that, we were a little surprised that after paying a 120 cleaning fee, guests are asked to wash, dry, and put away all dishes before checking out. Stripping the beds seemed perfectly reasonable. We'd also suggest adding more comfortable sea
This was the perfect spot for our anniversary weekend. The home was clean and exactly as described. The host was terrific with communication. We loved having our morning coffee on the deck surrounded by nature. We will definitely be back.
