Our first trip to Florida to visit our daughter. The house was perfect! Very comfortable, and welcoming. It was the perfect place for us. We will stay here again.
We enjoyed staying at this cottage very much. It was very clean, very quaint, nicely decorated, just lovely! Will definitely stay again when we visit Mount Dora. A perfect home away from home. ❤️
Our second time staying at Mt. Dorable. We enjoy the quiet and convenient location. My. Dorable sleeps 4 comfortably. The beds are wonderful!!!!! Thank you for another great trip!
We had a great time staying at this property. The best part of it was the location. Close to downtown and to Renningers. The house itself had some issues which were inconvenient: the wall unit AC in the bedroom could not be adjusted with the remote nor on the unit itself, so we just had to unplug it. The dryer was full of damp linens, so we were afraid to empty it and use it. There was some bread that expired in March in the kitchen. Other than that, I would say if you plan to go thrifting, it is a good place to stay.
From the moment we pulled into the driveway of the tree shaded property, we were hooked! The renovated 1938 bungalow welcomed us immediately. The little street was lined with similar homes that were probably built in the 1920's or 1930's as well. The charming and quiet neighborhood was within a short walk to the heart of historic Mt. Dora. Why would anyone stay anywhere else?Once inside we were stunned not only with the large comfortable space and updated modern conveniences but with the old world style and comfortable furnishings that reminded us of home visits and family gatherings. We did in fact prepare a few meals in the unusually well stocked kitchen. I think I could have prepared a Thanksgiving feast for the multitudes if I had needed to. The beds were comfy and the bathrooms were spotless. Our little home away from home was one of the highlights of our event filled weekend. It was aptly named, Mt. Dorable! We would love to come back again and again!
Awful. The house wasn't ready until about 4pm. The property is on a lot that looks like a war zone with weeds growing from the gutter, cracked walkway, masking tape around windows, ... the mattress was the world's worst as were the pillows. Thermostat did not operate as set. There was no SOAP IN THE SHOWER. Toilets were so close to other bathroom items that it was hard to sit!!! Absolutely miserable experience... should be taken off the market!!!!!

Hello! We're sorry to hear about your experience, and we wish you had reached out to us directly before posting your review.
We were actively working on the lawn when you arrived before 3:00, and our historic home is well-maintained, with many positive reviews from previous guests. We were out by 3:15, albeit slightly late, and sent you the welcome message after greeting you and handing you the key, but the interaction quickly became hostile when you saw us, as you raised your voice and were very curt and unkind.
Your wife was very kind and patient, however!
Our mattresses are often praised for comfort, and we’ve had great feedback overall. Regarding the thermostat, it’s simple to use, but we’d have been happy to walk you through it if needed, as our contact details are posted on the app.
The photos of the bathrooms are clearly shown in the listing, and while we don’t provide soap as an amenity (as noted on the VRBO page), we do offer hand soap and dish detergent.
We also noticed that wet towels were left on the carpet, you moved much of our furniture around, and dirty dishes were scattered around the house after your leave.
Thank you for staying with us.
