About this property
Paws in the Pines, quaint romantic cabin, world class fishing, dog friendly
*** Longing for an escape from the world? A place to recharge, regroup and reconnect?
*** Seeking a romantic getaway?
*** Need an amazing base camp for your outdoor adventures? Fishing is your passion?
*** Don’t go anywhere without your furry friend(s)?
Located just 37 miles from Colorado Springs, nestled on 1.27 acres of tall pines and aspen trees, Paws in the Pines offers the perfect blend of modern convenience and natural beauty in this all-season cabin.
In an area known for natural beauty and abundant public lands, it can be your perfect base camp for all your adventures. The location is ideal for exploring the region’s riches, less than 30 minutes to almost everything the area has to offer from world class fishing, hiking, museums, history, gambling, great food, etc.
It’s close enough that you don’t spend all your time driving, yet it feels like a world away. To get to the cabin, your picturesque drive winds through hillsides adorned with elk herds, horses, yaks, Huerfano cows, miniature donkeys and more. Then, a short one-mile drive on a maintained dirt road brings you to your mountain oasis where you are surrounded by towering trees and welcomed into the tranquility and serenity of the mountains.
When you step inside, you are greeted by the rustic and somewhat quirky charm of the recently remodeled interior. Taking a cue from the numerous bear paw prints found in the snow when Paws in the Pines was first purchased, a theme developed. Embracing the wild spirit of Mother Nature’s mountain animals, each space is adorned with statues, wall hangings and pictures that pay homage to the diverse wildlife that call the mountains home.
This delightful retreat is adorned with wildlife accents and cozy furnishings carefully curated for comfort and character. In a bit of whimsy, the animals are even named.
Beautiful beetle killed blue stained pine are gorgeous feature walls in both the living room and bedroom where the focused lights highlight the unique character of the wood.
Your first fire in the woodburning stove is prepared and waiting for you. Just light the fire and settle in. The flickering firelight will invite you to snuggle up with a good book, good drink and a good time.
The well-appointed kitchen is equipped with everything needed to prepare your own special meal. The open floor plan allows cooking while still engaging with others, even watching the 55” smart television in the living room.
A vintage lawyer’s bookshelf offers many books, games and puzzles to fill your quiet time, or stay connected with our high-speed satellite internet by Starlink.
Romantic nights await as you reconnect with your loved one with firelight, flickering (non-flame) candles, adult libations, your favorite tunes and a little dancing in the moonlight on the wide-open floor. It doesn’t get any better than this.
During the days, relax on the gorgeous gated front deck where you can lounge in the loveseat, catch some sun and simply soak up the mountain vibe. Unwind and enjoy the sounds of nature through birds chirping, hummingbirds buzzing, leaves rustling and gentle whispers of the clean mountain air. Watch the wildlife as you blow bubbles off the enclosed back deck that features a barbeque, patio table and chairs, and a propane fire pit.
Dogs are welcome to snuggle on the numerous dog beds, blankets and bowls that are provided. Gated front and back decks allow them to enjoy their own unique experience. A large, fenced area adjacent to the cabin is dedicated just for our furry friends.
Later, step outside in the crisp mountain night and gaze up at a sky view that is internationally acknowledged as a Dark Sky Area. Moonbeams dance through the pine trees as you may hear the howl of wolves at the Colorado Wolf Sanctuary and Wildlife Center. Experience the tranquility as winter’s snow, illuminated by the moon, appears almost fluorescent.
Don’t miss out on the chance to experience the magic of this quaint cabin. It’s an enchanting haven that reminds you it’s time to take a break, create new amazing experiences and memories, reconnect with nature and embrace the simple joys of life.
