Spectacular Garden/Ski Chalet close to Rib Mountain.

It’s Winter Wonderland! The Chalet is a great place to recover from a day on the slopes of Rib Mountain. It’s a perfect time to visit!

There is plenty of snow falling this year. Even Granite Peak does not seem to advertise the fact that they have gotten around 30 inches in addition to the snow making they keep doing! So book now!

You get a nice quiet vacation away from the noise and the hullabaloo of the city. Enjoy the crisp air and the stars! You can actually see the milky way and entire constellations. Bring your telescope if you have one!

You will have a stocked kitchen with granite counter tops, dishes, pots and pans, silverware and everything you need to cook. There is a fire ring on the lawn for an evening fire. There is also a Weber charcoal grill on the patio so you can enjoy a cookout – even in winter.

This beautiful 4 bedroom house will become the favorite vacation spot for the whole family. The house is spacious and cozy at the same time and sleeps up to 6 adults and 2 kids comfortably.

Granite Peak on Rib Mountain State Park is the perfect place for skiing and hiking and only 20 minutes away. You also have some great fishing and hunting opportunities very close to the property.

And if you do decide to use the kitchen, there is a full size dining table so you can enjoy a nice dinner with your entire family - either indoors or outdoors!

This is a really special home to celebrate any kind of a family meal! The spacious kitchen will accommodate almost anything you want to serve to friends and family!

Wausau has plenty of supper clubs and some outstanding contemporary restaurants, steakhouses, fish fries and many many other options within minutes of the house!

The house has Wi-Fi Internet access INCLUDED so you can always be in touch throughout your stay. Stay for the entire week and you can even get some work done while your family enjoys the spectacular scenery, grounds and trails. There is a desk that is provided in the master bedroom.

Thank you so much for sharing your house with us! The house is very spacious and cozy, it fit our 3 families perfectly. The kitchen is well stocked and a dining table by the fireplace is big enough to gather around after a day of skiing. One of the highlights was a beautiful view from the great room - we enjoyed sitting by the sunlit windows there in the mornings.

Family reunion

Loved the place as soon as we pulled into the driveway. The grounds were gorgeous and watching the wildlife play in the yard was an added bonus. We played games and did crafts with our grandchildren and just reconnected with them. Highly recommend this lovely place.

Fun Ski Weekend!

We recently stayed at Spectacular Garden Chalet for a weekend ski trip and had a fantastic time. The chalet was exactly as described: clean, and well-equipped. The kitchen was perfect for cooking meals after a long day on the slopes, and the living room was spacious enough for our group to relax and unwind by the fire. Quiet retreat

Very large yard with gogeous gardens, a cool pond. So quiet and peaceful. Great kitchen/dining for family gathering. Comfortable with 2 king suites, a fun kids room and one more nice queen room. Birding was awesome.

This was a great property! Everything was sparkling clean. Plenty of space to spread out with a family gathering. Toys and family friendly spaces for children. Just a bit out of town, but we’ll worth the extra 5-8 minutes. Beautiful scenery, quiet and private. Doris was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay!

The property was clean but miss represented. The property was advertised as ski-in ski-out it is 30 minutes from the ski area. It posts a hot tube, it had a dated jacuzzi bathtub. It boosts a game/arcade room which consisted of a foosball table and board games. The internet connect was non existent and the only TV was 20 years old. They post the property sleeps eight which it could but it barely had seating for four adults in any room. This was a beautiful property and it was clean but was not a property I would pay 1000.00 for two nights to entertain family. We were force to move our Thanksgiving dinner to another location.

This house gets incredible reviews from everyone because it is our baby! The house has never been advertised as ski-in and out. It is about 10-15 min away from the ski hill. The location is rural and the Internet is good for zoom and conference calls but not great for streaming. We have been trying to get Spectrum fiber but it is not here. We will get Starlink in the interim. The TV is a 55 inch 4K Sony TV that supports everything. There is plenty of seating everywhere BUT we are adding more in the next 2 weeks.

Where Time Stands Still

Our stay was the perfect escape from busy city life. The property is a true gem, nestled in the middle of the woods with plenty of space for the kids to run around and explore. We especially loved the private park and pond—it was a wonderful way to experience nature and enjoy some peace and quiet.The house itself is huge and surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants. While some of the appliances and furnishings aren't the most modern, everything was clean and functional, providing all we needed for a relaxing, slow-paced vacation. The host was incredibly friendly and responsive, making our stay even more enjoyable.Our only suggestion would be to add an outdoor hot tub. That would be a fantastic addition and would make this already amazing property even better!

we came to the Garden Chalet for a much needed and anticipated family vacation. it was well worth the drive from Chicago. the property is well maintained and really beautiful. not to far away from civilization but just enough to feel a sense of complete privacy and to enjoy the beautiful landscaping and flora of this oasis. Doris was the perfect host, attentive to our needs and she moved quickly to resolve any issue that came up. our experience was very positive and we would definitely recommend the house to anyone, we enjoyed the deck,jaccuzzi, foosball and basketball hoop, thank you for the memories.

We enjoy cooking at home and on vacation. Staying at a hotel does not allow for healthy home cooked meals and a vacation home is thus much preferred for all our travels. The house in Wausau allows us to unwind and enjoy nature in the most beautiful and calm surroundings.

We purchased the house because it was in such a spectacular location. We fell in love with it since it is such a jewel enveloped in a beautiful landscape.
