Magical Oasis is a beautiful property nestled in the hills of Grass Valley. It is quiet and very secluded. The views of the surrounding mountains were so beautiful and we loved relaxing on the porch. There is plenty of space and the house is well equipped. The ping pong was an added touch of fun. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home.

The house was as described and very quiet and secluded, just what we were looking for! It is very comfortable but some of the finishes in the house are a little tired, some blinds broken, no hand towels or washcloths were provided. That aside, the setting is beautiful and relaxing, the kitchen well organized and the couches and beds are comfortable. If you are looking for a mountain house with great views and quiet, this property is a good choice!

Great mountain retreat

This property was perfect for our two family vacation. There was plenty of room, we didn't feel like we were on top of each other. Wonderful views and a nice patio area with a fire pit.

beautiful view. 2nd floor was dedicated to the primary couple, room for yoga and meditation. Our eldest daughter joined us for the holiday meal, which we had catered. Sadly, this June 2026, we discovered that this house with an amazing view was seriously infested with mice. At first, I noticed little things, like that it wasn't very clean, there were crumbs on the counter when we arrived, and some of the large cooking utensils had old food caked all over them- I mean all over them. I overlooked several signs of neglect of the property because it was comparatively cheap with a lovely view. We brought our two young children who played all over the floor there... for the first two days. My children even found 2 fluffly nest things. We soon realized who these nests belonged to.End of 2nd day/ 3rd night, my husband saw multiple mice running back and forth in the kitchen... pooping all over the kitchen counters and around our sealed kitchen goods. We were both awake most of the night because, weirdly, these mice were so loud, scratching, digging and whatnot, all over the house, it was totally overwhelming. In the morning, it took mere mintues to realize there was poop in many corners of the house and that we had to leave immediately. When I informed the owner, Alex, he apologized and said he would give us a full refund. APPROPRIATE. Strangely, after Alex conferred with VRBO, we received a very cool, formally worded response, that after consideration, we will be given 50% of the refund. Though we now bear the risk of rodent borne illness and had the massive stress of finding another place totally last minute. Steer clear of this risky rental.

We completely understand how upsetting and stressful it must have been to discover a mouse issue and have to change accommodations unexpectedly. This was certainly not the experience we wanted you or your family to have. When you contacted us, we immediately reached out to VRBO for guidance on how best to handle the situation. The refund that was ultimately issued was based on VRBO’s recommendation after reviewing the circumstances of the stay, and we’re sorry that our initial communication created a different expectation. We also want to assure you and future guests that we took your experience extremely seriously. Following your stay, the home underwent a full month of professional pest control and remediation, along with a thorough deep clean. We have continued monitoring the property since then to ensure the issue has been fully addressed and that the home meets the standard our guests should expect. We sincerely regret that this happened during your visit and appreciate you bringing it to our attention so we could take the necessary steps to correct it.

Private & Spacious

This was a special place to spend the weekend. 3 kiddos (5, 3.5, 2.5) and their parents made this place a home. We spent a lot of time on the back porch and in the downstairs area. If we visited again we’d bring a baby gate for the top of the staircase just for some extra comfort with our littles. Could easily put a pack in play in every room and many upstairs. One of us had to stream a class one morning and the WiFi gave her no problems. Plenty of space for games, crafting and cooking large meals. The sun room in the front was a special secret garden! We brought scooters hoping the kiddos could utilize the driveway, unfortunately the mountainside is much too steep to let any of the kiddos loose. There was plenty of space for them to do other things though and they loved every bit! Very close to both Grass Valley and Nevada City, we would love to stay again.
